A Book is a Window to the Soul

Monday is Not My Favorite
To be honest Monday should be like any other for a Dragon. I get up, snarf coffee, do a chore or two, take meds and plan my day. Only thing that makes it different is that other people are on their way to work…
Yeah, that’s right. On Monday there are fewer things to distract me. Most of my friends have or will have jobs and when they get home its the inevitable “I’m tired.” I wear out fast. My days start great, but I miss all of you.
Solutions:
We cancel Mondays altogether. This makes almost everyone happy.
You all become Dragons and we fly around on Mondays and everyday
You all become fantasy writers and we can have coffee together
I go back to my day job and we are all miserable together
Personally I vote for number 1… What do you think?

A Moment’s Quiet

  Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Peace seems of the utmost importance in one’s own heart.

Read It Or Eat It!

The Dragon is hungry and he considers the possibility of food – Disappearing in Plain Sight by Francis Guenette lies out a little too near to the cook pot to go unnoticed… Should he read it or Eat it? Loud noises from his belly indicate his interest.
Let’s consider the tasty contents. The setting is rural Crater Lake in Canada. There is a bakery owned by two of the characters that supplies many mouths. Lisa Marie is a troubled teen who goes to live with her aunt. The descriptions of the area give vivid backdrops to a difficult story of the
young girl’s growth. The people who inhabit the tight-knit social climate all
change during the summer. The devastating loss two years ago of Caleb, a central figure to the inhabitant’s circle of friends, finally plays out as his closest
associates emerge from their grief to deal with their lives.
PROS and CONS of Cooking -
Pros-
The characters are amazing and very real
the story flows smoothly
the plot holds the reader’s interest throughout
the relationships are detailed and well developed
there is a bakery filled with yummy breads
there is a garden filled with yummy flowers and vegetables
Cons-
There are no dragons in the story…
while the main characters seem tasty, the Dragon is too caught up in the plot top eat them
The Dragon says save this book for reading. Although a tasty treat, it will be much better consumed by the mind. This is an entertaining novel. Buy it! !!!!ROAR!!!! It can be found at Amazon and where all delicious towns books are sold.
You can find Francis at all her usual island rendezvous, facebook, twitter and blog.

Was Hungry Today…

Yes, I was hungry. I ate spaghetti, waffles and oatmeal – not on the same plate. Sometimes I have no appetite at all. I’m not sure which is worse because now my stomach hurts and I regret eating quite so much.
I think that I will never be normal. Mostly I have no desire for food. A great deal of nausea recently has kept my interest minimal.
Dragons like to eat…EVERYTHING!!! Why the baffled expression? You knew I was big and red and scaly…

So I Want a Dragon for Wordless Wednesday
Comcast…Unhappy Resolution
Today I learned the unhappy truth.  Comcast does NOT guarantee any specific data rate. Translation: While you nominally have internet service, you can’t connect long enough or fast enough to send an email.
Now, in order to guarantee connection–at least a better chance of one– we have a package that will cost you way more and you will need a new modem.
Oh Comcast…I’m really thrilled with your service —NOT!
The rural life costs extra! (And this better load and post!)

A Moment’s Consideration
Twenty seems too young to be married, but who am I to judge? Who knows what they have yet to accomplish and life is far more difficult alone.
How would I react if they didn’t fit my other arbitrary standards?
Where did those predetermined pictures come from? Do we have the courage to discard our preconceived notions, give up prejudices?
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Excerpt- Weekend Warriors 7/28/13
A short excerpt from Kris— A Charles the Cat Story. For clarity, Kris lives at a Catholic orphanage:
The brisk evening air almost forced the boy back inside, but he was determined to be certain of what he had seen. Searching the pathway right and left, Kris found nothing but blowing snow. He had almost given up when he heard the soft mewing. Scrambling backwards, he scanned the pathway one more time. Standing in the dim light, white on white, was a tiny kitten, crying inconsolably. Grabbing the little creature and tucking it quickly under his jacket, Kris turned back toward the building, but almost collided with the parish priest in his hurry.
Flailing to keep his balance, Kris nearly knocked the man down and had pulled open the closure of the priest’s huge overcoat. “What have we here?”

Comcast…I Am Unhappy!

I have been experiencing severe internet problems. I can’t upload pictures and my connection is often very very slow. Living the happy rural life has its disadvantages. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can finish this post before my internet dies yet again.
My patience is wearing thin and I will attempt to call for service during working hours Monday.
For now—- I wish everyone a great weekend
