Author TW Brown Welcomes Kidney Stone “Karl” and Begins to Read His Book-of-the-Month: “Dead Trees”

Image

March is already proving to be a bang-up month this year! My 28th birthday is right around the corner, “Let’s Scare Cancer to Death” publishes soon, “Dead Trees” is Author TW Brown‘s blog book of the month and the first week of March has started with double snow days. Nothing better than cuddling up with the family and watching movies!

So, while I head off to watch another episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, why don’t you head over to TW Brown’s BlogSpot (http://twbrown.blogspot.com/) and read today’s posting, “Welcome back from the land of the (nearly) dead…”?

I think all of Todd’s followers are glad to hear that he’s on the road to recovery and we send him our sincerest congratulations on the birth of his kidney stone, “Karl.” It’s our hope that the coming days will bring Todd much happiness with lessened birth pain and the enjoyment of Karl’s life outside the urinary tract.

Consider hopping over to Amazon, picking up a copy of “Dead Trees,” and joining Todd as he reads his chosen book of the month.

Spotlight on Jackie Chin & Zombiepalooza Radio (www.ztalkradio.com)

Image

Zombiepalooza

Delve into world of the undead

  https://www.tribtoday.com/page/content.detail/id/586738/Zombiepalooza.html?nav=5157

(Below, are excerpts from a 2013 expose on Jackie Chin’s show, Zombiepalooza. To read the article in its entirety, please click the link above. Once you understand why the show exists, you’ll find it hard not to support Zombiepalooza and keep it on the air!)

The show has a very personal reason for existing: “It was the terrors of the real world that brought Chin to the radio. She started Zombiepalooza as an instrument to help her husband, Ken Chin, overcome post-traumatic stress from a dog attack in which he was severely injured.”

Jackie says this of the experience:

“[My husband] was no longer feeling capable of handling whatever life threw at him and this was beginning to worry me and the children,” Chin said. “So I began to think of a way to help him become more focused on something, anything positive.”

For Jackie, the show is about one thing- the guests & her listeners: “I have 250,000 listeners and the show to me is about the guests and what they bring to the show,” Chin said. “With my guests, I want to get their creativity out there, and on my show they get to promote themselves in a beautiful way. The reason why my show is so popular is because I listen to my guests and the passion for their book, film or product.”

Why does Jackie need support from folks like you? (read the reasoning as written from Zombiepalooza’s GoFundMe donation account- link is at the bottom of this section) Right now, corporate sponsorships are hard to come by, and the few which have, have wanted a hand on the helm. This would mean that Jackie would have to take control of the show from the AUDIENCE, you kind folks, and put it into the hands of someone who’s motives are unknown to us… and perhaps not in the best interests of the AUDIENCE.
Jackie won’t have anything to do with selling you folks out because YOU are the reason for the show’s popularity.
So now we’re forced to do something we never imagined we’d have to do …. as with public radio and television, in order for Jackie to maintain her neutrality and responsiveness to the AUDIENCE we need to ask for your help. We need donations to keep it running for the next year and for Jackie to be able to make it to the venues she’s been asked to carry the show to for live broadcasts. She’d also like to begin having contests with the ability to supply the prizes on a more timely basis rather than having the winners wait until we can get the prize out to them.”

Zombiepalooza airs every Friday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Ztalkradio.com, and Chin said her show delves into the subject of zombies in ways that no one can hear about anywhere else.

Zombiepalooza Radio is probably one of the most unique radio programs on or off the internet. Although most of the material is zombie themed the actual content is about the authors, actors, musicians, artists and the entire spectrum of entertainment venues this encompasses.
If you’ve been a guest on Zombiepalooza, you know that they don’t do it for the money. They do it because they have a sincere desire to support the artistic community at large.
They’ve helped so many of us gain exposure, all the while footing the entire cost of show production themselves. Let’s ‘get our zombies on’ and give a little back. www.ztalkradio.com

AUTHORS SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS 2014 | Armand Rosamilia & ASOT

Image

On January 11th, something magical began: An event that serves a singular purpose- to provide members of the United States Military Services Branches with books- piles and piles of printed text containing beautiful stories to help our soldiers leave the battle behind and travel somewhere amazing in their minds.

AUTHORS SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS 2014 (ASOT)

(Armand Rosamilia took on the ASOT mantel from author Joe McKinney)

It’s so easy to let a year pass quickly, consumed by our own needs and desires, without pause and care for those in the world facing adversity and struggle. Combine that adversity and struggle with homesickness, the burden of freedom and shrapnel in the shoulder and you get the picture of a deployed troop. Armand Rosamilia has given all of us an opportunity to show our true colors. Are yours red, white and blue?

ASOT 2014 is entering its last month of signed-by-the-author book collections and monetary donations to cover overseas shipping costs. So far, Armand has got an ever-growing pile of books (and an equally large pile of empty post boxes, I’m sure). The last count he provided on the Facebook event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/647179418679623/?source=1) was 136 authors donating and 1,136 books and that was a week ago! I’m sure the number has risen and the event still has 4 weeks to go! I keep wondering… will the event break the 2,000 books donated mark? Wouldn’t that be amazing? 2,000 books lovingly signed by caring authors shipping to our boys and girls in uniform; can you imagine how many pages will get creased, how many laughs will lighten the war-zone air, how many flashlights will stay on a little too long to read ‘one more page?’

The ASOT 2014 event page has gathered 444 attendees and supporters with more than one veteran commenting on how much reading books meant to them during deployment. Letters and calls from home, while wonderful and heart-warming, can also increase the homesickness and oppression of the overseas environment. A book though, full of imagination and creation, can provide an escape, just the escape a soldier may need to remain sane.

Donating a signed book, purchasing an ASOT 2014 shirt, giving monies for shipping- such small things to bring a soldier a piece of a different world, a peace of mind.

Freedom is heavy, let’s lighten the load.

Valentine’s Day 2014 EAT YOUR HEART OUT (instead of chocolate)

eat your heart out poster

Don’t forget to spend your day of love the right way- by hopping over to facebook and hitting the EAT YOUR HEART OUT event. 30 authors, 30+ books, almost all priced at 0.99 USD for one day only!

https://www.facebook.com/events/1492330050991663/

Among the authors are a few of my favorites (Including ME & my debut Dead Trees)! Notably- the super talented Claire C. Riley. Claire’s first novel Limerence, is a dark paranormal romance and has strong elements of psychological horror.

Claire has tried to go back to basics with her writing, incorporating an old school style of horror and romance. Sexy and dark. (Think Bram Stokers Dracula, and George R Romero, but for the 21st century!)

She’s also published the rocking ODIUM- get ready to encounter zombies in a fresh new way. Odium released October 4th 2013. A short prequel to Odium called Life Ever After, was released in an anthology entitled Fusion, along with some other amazing Indie authors on the 31st August 2013.

When you’re done with Odium and Life Ever After, I know you’ll want to buy Odium Origins. A Dead Saga novella. Trust me when I say that it will keep you reading; you literally won’t be able to put it down!

She is also working on the sequel to Limerence, which is creatively (?) named Limerence II: Mia, the sequel to Odium, a standalone romantic horror book tentatively named Chance Encounters and a hundred and one creepy stories. All will be released from January 2014 onwards, so keep your eyes peeled for more work.

These are the 30 authors in this extravaganza.

Authors Supporting Our Troops Postage Drive In St Louis!

authoreliconstant:

So thrilled to be a part of ASOT 2014 with Armand Rosamilia at the helm.

Originally posted on Armand Rosamilia:

I want to thank Margie Colton and Jerry Benns for all the support and help with the Authors Supporting Our Troops event I’ve organized. It’s amazing the outpouring of ideas and support I’ve received… when I put this together I knew I’d have a good amount of authors willing to donate books, but I had no idea just how many… and in only the second full week of collecting author-signed books, over 500 books have been shipped to me. I am grateful for those who are non-authors or authors who want to do more and are collecting and donating money to help offset the massive cost to ship these books. I am humbled and honored to know all these wonderful people who have taken their time to help me -
