Fang 5 and 6

With Fang 5's release, The Apex of Life, work on book 6 has started. I shant release the title until I'm sure my fans have read the Apex as the title partly gives away the ending of 5. But I thought I'd release a few little sneak peaks at book 6 as well as relate some of my inner working on the Apex. In fang's original incarnation book 5 of the series was called The Tyrant. It followed Kimberly as she took part in a universal war between the powerful and the free and her husband, David. After his destruction of the Earth he was weak and was captured by a band of creatures called The Agents of Time. They forced David to do their bidding for them or they would force Kimberly to act on their behalf. He journeyed the stars killing those that got in his way or destroying their planets. The general story was something I quite liked, however the details of the plot made no sense. David was going to kill Kimberly to spare her being hunted by the Agents, he rode around space on the back of a dragon and Kimberly was this powerful leader of an army. So I decided to change it. I didn't feel that Kimberly would ever relish in warfare, she always seemed, to me, to be a woman who wanted to just be at home with her husband. It ended with Kimberly and David killing themselves after the war was over. David returned from death and had become so powerful that he could grant life, he Resurrection Kimberly and created a new planet called Eden where he would rule and protect the free and innocent people of the universe. Like I said, I liked the story in general but it needed a lot of work and didn't really follow on the story as I'd like. It set up book 6 very nicely, however I've done this with book 5 again and I feel it is much better. Book 6 will be my final Fang. I'm not saying that all of the characters will die or that they won't, the truth is that I don't know yet. I've got 2 endings reading and I will decide before I publish which one to use. Even if everyone's alive and happy, Fang will end. It's entirely possible that a side story, perhaps about the auxiliary characters, will emerge but that won't be for some time.

new life (possible spoilers!!!)

With the release of 'new life' within a week i thought i'd talk about how 'new life' was born. When fang was originally born it was a three book series with amy jo serving as the main antogonist throughout. I was going to have a large time gap between book 2 and 3 and have david start 3 with a vast amount of power. When i started writing the series in that format i realised that it wasn't enough. And thus the 6/7 book format of fang was born. New life has gone through the most rewrites of all my books. The original, as a part of the original series, was very linear, it started with a very brief description of what david had done in his time and then started with kimberly coming alive again. I made other starts to fang 3, some which started as kimberly being alive, other versions of both of these varied greatly. It wasn't until the new fang series was born that i finally settled on the current format. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it!

new idea

Just had a fantastic idea for a new book. A high school reunion set in what amounts to a haunted castle. One by one the classmates are picked off, people say its the ghost of someone who is connected to the long, bloody past of the castle or it could be the man everyone bullied and teased as a child. Or something, or someone, else.
I think ill start work on that soon. Ill finish up my stand alone, get book 3 of the fang series published and then work on 'death's reunion' while i work on book 4 of the fang series. Exciting times

For the fans...

I would just like to say that, first and foremost, without you my fans, I would surely be lost. I thank you.
