2019 Reflection
Christmas is over and the New Year is almost upon us–which means it’s time for my annual year-in-review!
This was such a massive year for me as an author and us as a community, but I’ve gone through and picked out a few highlights!
This year, the K. M. Shea team and I…
Went to an author conference with my Entwined Tales buddies and got to meet so many amazing authors, like Lindsay Buroker and Raye Wagner!
Wrote and launched the first three Fairy Tale Enchantress books–Reign of Magic was, in particular, a huuuge accomplishment
Got my Timeless Fairy Tale ebook covers redone
Experimented with Retha short stories and different formats for extras–like the “Between a Prince and His Lady” short
Organized our “Fantastic February Facebook Event” with a lot help from Myrhlynn! Annette Marie, Elise Kova, Julie Hall, Holly Hook, and Lydia Sherrer all attended, and together we had a smashing good time!
Meg got the rest of my books–including the long awaited Goose Girl–up as paperbacks, so now we’ll just be on a cycle of waiting several months after a new release to catch the typos before we load it up and send it out.
Created the Bookplates that were in the December giveaway
Together, our community…
Held our first Summer Read Along for the City Between series–which was so much fun and had guest appearances by W. R. Gingell
The Heroes of Retha kinship on Lord of the Rings online celebrated their first anniversary in December
Voted in the annual Hero and Heroine polls–Angelique caused a pretty big shakeup this year

Timeless Fairy Tales: New Covers!
A few of you Champions might have noticed, but the Timeless Fairy Tale series has gotten new ebook covers!
I actually didn’t mean to have the new covers up before Christmas, but Amazon jumped the gun on me a little bit and was A LOT faster to post them than I expected, so this notice is a bit late compared to when they actually went up, ahahah.
If you want to see the whole series lined up, you can see them all together on the Timeless Fairy Tales’ series page on Amazon! (Otherwise we have them loaded onto the website, too!)
I’m excited, because for the first time ever, some of the Timeless Fairy Tale Heroes are on the covers! Can you spot them all? Share who you see in the comments down below! I’m also really happy about the Little Selkie’s cover–Dylan looks like herself now!
These covers were done by the same designer who did my Fairy Tale Enchantress series, Deranged Doctor Design! I’m sad to see Myrrhlynn’s covers go–though her covers are still on the paperbacks, which won’t be getting an update for a long time because it’s SO MUCH WORK to change them!!! But it’s been so fun to work with DDD and I’m thrilled with how the covers all turned out!
Myrrhlynn has gotten super busy over the past two years, and she helps me a lot more now with marketing and graphic design in general, so she likely won’t be doing my covers very often in the future, although she still does all the font design and what not for my Elves of Lessa and Second Age of Retha series, so you’ll still see her work around!
I’m sure some of you are wondering why the cover change, and to be honest it all comes down the marketing. Cover expectations change over the years, and my Timeless Fairy Tale covers–while beautiful–were a bit behind. You can see on the new covers they are more clearly part of a series–something I actually hadn’t wanted way back when I first got started because it was unusual to have a series of stand alone books way back in 2013 when I started the series.

The Fifth Gift
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! It’s Christmas Eve…er…morning, but I have one last gift to give you Champions!
A Goose Girl: Entwined Tales #1
Amazon.com | All Other Stores
A Goose Girl will be free December 24th – 28th and to make things even better, the Entwined Tales series is on a massive discount right now! Click here to see the series listing and snag the other books at this discount price!
I also want to add a quick reminder that if you haven’t tried it yet, you can get my prequel novella, The Princess and the Free, for FREE! Click here to get it! It’s a prequel to both the Timeless Fairy Tale series and the Fairy Tale Enchantress series but it features stand-alone characters so you can also read it separately from the other books.
This is my final gift to you in 2019, Champions. Thank you so much for joining me in this celebration of the holiday season. I hope you enjoyed the extras/short stories, and got some free books.

Woops!
Oops! All the Champions subscribed to my blog just got a notification for a post about the Timeless Fairy Tale sale that I mentioned in my December Newsletter…except the announcement for the sale was like…1 week early. Sorry about that! The post has been re-scheduled, so fear not! The sale is coming in January as promised! I just apparently can’t tell my years apart, hah-hah.
In the meantime Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! I still have a few more fun posts (and one new free book in addition to Red Rope of Fate and The Luckless which are both free right now) due this year, so I hope you enjoy!

A Merry Retha Christmas
May the Christmas and Holiday fun continue! This time I’m call out to all Champions of Retha–your time has come!
As I teased earlier, I have another Second Age of Retha drabbles for you, and it’s from the point-of-view of our favorite NPC siblings, Fame and Fortune!
This is probably one of my favorite drabbles/short stories ever, because it really dives into their characters.

A Treat for the Holidays
The Christmas and Holiday fun continues–and I’ve got a special treat for my fairy tale Champions today!
I’m releasing an experimental…hmm…short story? Extra? It is a letter exchange between a particular prince, and his rather adventurous lady–both of whom we are all very familiar with. I call it: Between a Prince and His Lady. (Click Here for the PDF!)
This was so much fun for me to write, and I hope it makes you Champions laugh! Enjoy the treat, and I’ll see you soon with my next weekly gift/free book!

Gift Ideas for Bookworms!
I LOVE shopping for gifts for Christmas. There’s something magical about it, and I particularly love trying to get special gifts for my friends and family so they know I care and I listen. But…I also might love it because most of my family/really close friends are fellow book nerds. So Myrrhlynn and I put together a pintrest list featuring tons of gift ideas for your beloved bookworms! We’ve got loads of Narnia, Middle Earth, Jane Austen, and Harry Potter themed gifts, as well as general fun book gifts (Oh my gosh you need to see the book purse!) and even some printables–book covers and the like–for those who are working with a tight budget! (The pictures are just a little taste of some of the pins we’ve carefully gathered!)
Click here to check out our list!
Happy shopping, Champions! But before you go, share your favorite book-related or book-themed Christmas gift that you’ve ever received in the comments down below! My favorite was the year my mom got me a subscription box of Narnia stuff! And yes, I was an adult when she gave it to me, haha–thanks Mom!
