Trial of Magic: Now available
It’s out now–to purchase or borrow! That’s right, Trial of Magic (Fairy Tale Enchantress #4) is finally here!
Amazon.com | All other Amazon stores
I have been waiting SO LONG for this book, Champions. I’ve been planning it since I released Wild Swans waaaay back in 2014. But!! This book is enormous, clocking in at nearly 193,000 words. That’s about a novella length longer than Reign of Magic. So, pace yourselves! You want to be coherent and awake for the ending, trust me!
In more fun news, I’m holding my usual release celebration (Yay!) but this time it’s a little different! As my thank you for all your honest reviews/ratings as well as your general support for this series, I’ll be releasing a special goodie, and a bonus short story! The special goodie will drop when Trial of Magic reaches about 100 reviews/ratings–that’s across all Amazon stores and including Goodreads reviews! The bonus short story–which is from Clovicus’ point of view–will drop when Trial reaches 200 reviews/ratings! (That might feel like a much higher amount than normal, but since Amazon added the ratings features, there are loads more people leaving ratings, so I fully expect you Champions to unlock both prizes in less than 4 days, hahah)
In continued celebration news, Apprentice of Magic will be on sale for 99 cents for roughly the next two weeks!

If you don’t have a copy of Apprentice of Magic, now is your chance to snatch it up for this discounted price!
Finally, there are a few twists in Trial of Magic, so be careful for spoilers if you haven’t finished the book and you’re looking to join in the facebook/blog/discord discussions! But that covers it all–thanks for reading, Champions, and enjoy!

Trial of Magic Pre-order
Trial of Magic is now available on pre-order! The book launches July 30th–so the wait is only a couple days!
Amazon.com | All other Amazon stores
Lord Enchanter Evariste has been missing for years. Everyone has given up all hope of finding him—except for Angelique.
Because he dared to befriend her when all other mages scorned her due to her dangerous magic, Angelique is determined to find him—no matter the cost. But as years have passed and she has failed to locate Evariste, she’s forced to realize that he was more than a friend.
Battle weary and sick of politics, Angelique is close to breaking…until she hears a rumor that Evariste was taken north.
To confirm the information, she’ll have to break into a den of black mages, hide her identity, and master her magic—which she fears above all else.
But when she finally finds Evariste, she learns she is woefully unprepared for the enemies that hold him captive.
A huge thank you to my team for making this happen. I really wanted to get it out before Sheacon 2021, and my team pulled everything together. Thank you for your support!
I hope you’re as excited as I am for this book, Champions! I can’t wait to hear what you all think of it! Until next time, thanks for reading and have a lovely day!

Sheacon 2021 Panel Schedule
This fantasy panel will begin at 7 PM central time! For our internationals–or for those of you who love staying up late–I’ll be interviewing W. R. Gingell–an urban fantasy and fairy tale author who wrote one of my all time favorite series, City Between. This WR Gingell Fangirl panel interview starts at 11 pm central.

To join Sheacon you’ll need to have a discord account! When Sheacon opens, the Planners will post a link to the server in the Sheacon 2021 channel of our KM Shea community server–here is an invite to that server if you haven’t joined yet. I’d advise that you join now so you’re ready for the big day, and so you can ask fellow Discord Champions for any help, should you need it.

Trial of Magic Cover Reveal
Hello, Champions!
I know you obviously know some of what is going happen in Trial of Magic (I mean, it overlaps with Twelve Dancing Princesses and Snow White, so it’s pretty clear what you can expect). BUT there are a few surprises coming in Trial of Magic, (more than you probably suspect), and it’s been killing me not to share even a hint of them. (Soon, though, you shall all know!)
But there is something I can reveal that is spoiler free–the cover!!
There are a couple of interesting things I want to point out about this cover (again, these are spoiler free so don’t worry).
In the first three books Angelique always has magic swirling around her in a different color, and you’ll notice it’s silver colored for this cover. Pop quiz for you champion: what’s the color of Angelique’s core magic? Yes that’s right, it’s silver! We have seen her reluctantly use her core magic in previous books, and you can expect more situations in this book where she has to use it again. This is the last cover where Angelique will be wearing her fancy color changing dress. (Not because the dress is ruined in this story or anything, so stop panicking.)Finally, I have some good news to share! It looks like we’re on schedule for a July 30th release date! I’m not sure yet if we’ll have enough time to have a pre-order because this is a TIGHT deadline, but I feel fairly comfortable saying that the book will be released then.
Thanks for reading, and have an incredible day!

Fairy Tale Heroine Quiz
I designed the heroines in my Timeless Fairy Tale series to be fierce, brilliant, and kind in their own ways. Whether it’s Cinderella, a duchess who sacrifices everything she owns to provide for her servants; Ariane, a maid who beats off an assassin with a broom to save a prince she frankly doesn’t like; or Angelique, an enchantress who stumbles her way into every curse on the continent; all of the heroines display unique facets of heroism.
It was important to me that I didn’t make every heroine daring and good with a sword, because in real life the good parts about people–their heroism, kindness, and even sassiness–are expressed in so many ways. It’s a beautiful part about being human! I wanted to reflect that, which is why the Timeless Fairy Tale heroines ended up being a pretty varied bunch. And now it’s your chance to find out which of these wonderful heroines is most like you!
Click here to take this brand new quiz, and learn which of the thirteen heroines from the world of Timeless Fairy Tales you most resemble!
I hope you like it! I took it as a test run to make sure everything was working, and I got Dylan. When I took it again a few days later I got Angelique, but that might have been because I was editing part of her book and have started to share her disdain for curses and doe-eyed royals falling in love in dangerous times.
This quiz took me nearly a YEAR to build, because it includes the eleven Timeless Fairy Tale Heroines, plus Rakel of the Snow Queen series, plus Angelique from Fairy Tale Enchantress! (And let me tell you, while these heroines are unique, a lot of them love their family and friends, which made finding questions that would bring out unique answers…challenging.)
So, who did you get? Was it a surprise??

2021 Fairy Tale Sale!
Do you like goodies and freebies?!?
I do! Which is why I’m so excited to tell you about the massive Timeless Fairy Tales sale starting NOW.
First off, the freebie: the first book in the series, Beauty and the Beast, is FREE right now on all Amazon stores.
In Beauty and the Beast, sparks fly between an indifferent beast and a gutsy heroine when “Beauty” falls through the beast’s castle roof and is forced to stay due to her broken leg. A Pride and Prejudice-esque romance between a self-exiled prince and a heroine who is more then she seems!
Get Beauty and the Beast: Amazon.com | All other Amazon stores
Are fairy tales not normally a genre you read? Get this book FREE as a sample for the rest of the series and see how you like it. All the books in this series feature my trademark humor + sweet romance and as a bonus each book in this series is a stand alone complete, so there aren’t any cliffhangers waiting for you if you only want to commit to this one book.
If you’ve already read my fairy tales, use this free book as an opportunity to turn your family and friends into addicts readers! And, if you’ve read this series on KU, or if you haven’t had a chance to purchase all the books yet, you are really going to love this next goodie..
Now through July 1st the first two boxsets in the Timeless Fairy Tales series are on sale for only 99 cents each!
In the first boxset (books 1-3) you’ll get Beauty and the Beast, Wild Swans, and Cinderella and the Colonel. Cinderella and the Colonel is an enemies-to-lovers romance between the money-obsessed Cinderella who is desperate to save her servants and land, and a mysterious, debonair colonel from the enemy country.
Buy Timeless Fairy Tales Boxset 1 now: Amazon.com | All other Amazon stores
In the second boxset (books 4-6) you’ll get stories featuring a mysterious mage (Rumpelstiltskin), a sealed voice (Little Selkie AKA Little Mermaid), and a magical cat (Puss in Boots). The story of Rumpelstiltskin stars one of the most popular heroes across ALL my book series. The book tells the tale of an unlikely romance between a practical heroine who makes her living as a seamstress and a vain but noble (and definitely brave) mage as they outrun a mad king, turn flax into gold, and maybe incite a rebellion on their way.
Get Timeless Fairy Tales Boxset 2 now: Amazon.com | All other Amazon stores
Since each of these boxsets has three books in it, you can get the first 6 books for less then the regular price of a single book!
If you are on the fence about snapping up the boxsets, let me warn you that it will be over a year before I run a sale of this magnitude again. It’s a lot of coordination to organize a sale like this and my writing schedule doesn’t give me much time to do this, so I really want you to grab this sale while you can!
Enjoy this special sale Champion, remember to grab Beauty and the Beast for free if you aren’t ready to commit to the boxsets yet.

One Day Hall of Blood and Mercy Sale
Have you read Hall of Blood and Mercy in KU, or been meaning to try it out? Then I have an extra special treat for you Champions! For today only, every single book in the Hall of Blood and Mercy series is discounted to only 99 cents! That’s three books for the prices of one!
Here’s the Series Page link so you can pickup the whole trilogy in one click or grab any of the individual books that are missing from your collection.
This is a special deal organized by Amazon.com, so I’m very sorry to my wonderful Champions who use the other Amazon stores but this deal is exclusive to only the Amazon.com website. Don’t fret though! There will definitely be a sale when I release my next urban fantasy trilogy in early 2022.
This first trilogy in the world of Magiford city features an opposites attract romance between a scrappy heroine with undiscovered powers and a vampire anti-hero who controls the Midwest. It will make you laugh between battles-and training sessions-as a mansion full of vampires do their best to train a scrappy wizard how to fight for her true place among the magic users.
I hope you enjoy it, and thanks for reading!

Reading Challenge Prizes
The reading challenge has been running for nearly two weeks, now! How are you doing? I know from the quiz results that a lot of Champions have slammed through the quizzes and already received their prizes for all five books–themed coloring pages! I hoped you liked them!
I was a little nervous about giving you Champions coloring pages as your prizes. Typically for something like this I’d like to write a free short story, but with Trial of Magic being so grueling to write, there was no way I could do it. I talked it over with the Discord Mod Squad and my team, and we thought really long about what you Champions might like to see before coming up with the coloring pages.
The artist behind the pages is Olena Shkavron–Click here to see see her Instagram! She did a fantastic job in bringing life my creations–she even used a picture of the real life inspiration for Puss (My parent’s cat, his name is Chewie) as a base for the Curse of Magic page!
Over all, I really enjoyed getting the coloring pages made. It’s another way to bring more bookish fun to you Champions in a different kind of way, but now I want to know…
What do you think, Champions?
Was there one page that was more fun to color in than the others? (If so, why?)Are you interested in getting coloring book pages for other KM Shea/AM Sohma series as well?Did you share your pages on the Discord server or Facebook group?I hope you’ve been enjoying the Reading Challenge, Champion! Thank you for joining in this community fun! (And if you get the chance, could you leave an HONEST series review for Fairy Tale Enchantress on its series page? There have been readers who are frustrated the series isn’t finished, so it has a pretty poor rating, ahahah.)

Sheacon 2021
I’ve got delightful news, Champions! Sheacon 2021 is coming from August 6th – August 8th!
All weekend long we’ll have panels, games, and goodies to share! The valiant Sheacon planners have been hard at work, and they’ve got some great fun planned!
There will be more details in the future about what kind of guests you’ll see–or even what kind of panels I’m going to speak on–coming in the future. But, important!!
Sheacon is a Discord-based event! That means you have to be a discord member so you can join us! On the actual weekend of the event the Sheacon Planners will post a link on our community discord to the special servers they’ll have set up for all the panels, games, and more. To be ready, you’ll want to sign up for the community Discord server. (You can join us by clicking here, or going to the Fan Discussion page for more information.)
I can confirm that there’s going to be an FAQ panel again this year, in fact the planners have a survey for you to fill out so you can ask any questions you like! (Click here to fill out the survey!) I might not be able to answer your questions about specific events/characters depending how spoiler-y they are, but you can submit them, or any other wacky question you’d like to hear me answer! (Like what’s my favorite beverage–tea or coffee? Or maybe ask what scares me most in my fridge–spoiler: it’s my sourdough starter, Bob. He makes me anxious when he foams.)
In conclusion, mark your calendars, Champions–we’re going to have so much fun!

2021 Reading Challenge
It is time, Champions! Summer (in the Northern Hemisphere) is here which means it is time to READ!
To celebrate the summer release of Trial of Magic–the fourth book in the Fairy Tale Enchantress series–for this year’s reading challenge we picked out five books for you to read that will prepare you for Trial of Magic. They are: Twelve Dancing Princesses (Timeless Fairy Tales #10); Snow White (Timeless Fairy Tales # 11); Apprentice of Magic (Fairy Tale Enchantress #1); Curse of Magic (Fairy Tale Enchantress #2); and Reign of Magic (Fairy Tale Enchantress #3). Read the books, then take the quizzes linked below for some themed prizes!
Planning this event made my inner librarian downright gleeful. I previously worked in libraries for a number of years, and every year libraries make big pushes for children’s’ summer reading programs. Sometime libraries have adult programs, but they usually aren’t nearly as cool, so here’s to us adults! (And kids if you’re here, too!)
Everything kicks off with this post and goes until the release of Trial of Magic. (Which–we’re crossing our fingers, hoping, and praying that it will be released at the end of July!) This blog post has links to all the reading challenge books, as well as the links to the quizzes you need to take to get your prize. (They’re one question each, so don’t feel too intimidated! ) There is also going to be a BIG sale on the books in the Timeless Fairy Tales series and Angelique’s series, but I’ll announce more about that later since those won’t be coming for a few weeks.
Here’s the official reading list and links to the books if you need them:
Snow White Amazon.com | Other Amazon storesThe Twelve Dancing Princesses Amazon.com | Other Amazon storesApprentice of Magic Amazon.com | Other Amazon storesCurse of Magic Amazon.com | Other Amazon storesReign of Magic Amazon.com | Other Amazon storesIf you are surprised to see Snow White and Twelve Dancing Princess in the challenge, know that I added them because they overlap with Trial of Magic a LOT and you will likely appreciate the scenes in Trial of Magic (and Angelique’s perspective) more if you’ve read those books.
Since this is a lot of books to keep track of we created this fun graphic for you to use to track your progress! Click here or the image below, download it, and color it in as you complete each book. The wolf is for Apprentice of Magic–poor Wybert–the cat is Curse of Magic, Pegasus is for Reign of Magic, the crow is Twelve Dancing Princesses, and the apple is for Snow White!
Once you’ve finished reading the book, come back here and use the links below to go to the quiz page. If you answer the quiz question correctly, it will take you to a new page with a link to your prize!
Book Quiz Links:
Snow White QuizTwelve Dancing Princesses QuizApprentice of Magic QuizCurse of Magic QuizReign of Magic QuizI realize these are a lot of pages to read, and you might have started in May or earlier to make sure you would have time to finish everything. If you started early don’t worry; you should still be able to answer the quizzes without a problem!
The prize you receive for answering each quiz is also easily shareable (this will make more sense once you see it) and Vin is starting a special post on Facebook and a separate channel on Discord so you can show off what you do with your prize.
Thank you for taking part in our Summer 2021 Reading Challenge. I hope you enjoy your prizes–I’m excited to hear what you think about them!
