'Skin in the Game' has been nominated by Livingston Press for the 23rd Annual Dashiell Hammett Prize for Excellence in Literature.

'Skin in the Game' Audiobook Coming

Livingston Press has decided to produce 'Skin in the Game' as an audiobook in the coming months. This may be why I have been overhearing Tito practicing what he calls his 'Mobster Voice'. Very sad.

Skin in the Game -- Decatur Book Festival

I have been invited to appear at the 2013 AJC Decatur Book Festival on Labor Day Weekend, to give a presentation and reading from 'Skin in the Game' at the Atlanta Writers' Showcase Stage and to participate in a book signing. When I told Tito that details will be forthcoming, he said, 'A festival? What, you gonna be dancing around some kind of Maypole or something?' Sometimes it just doesn't pay to talk to him.

Skin in the Game -- 'Top 10'

When I told Tito Venga that Paste Magazine has just named 'Skin in the Game' as one of the 'Top 10 Books of 2013 (So Far)', he crossed his boots on his metal desk, took a long draw on his cigar stub, and said "That's nice, or whatever, but Toyland don't run itself -- I got work to attend." Then he pointed his cigar at the door. Sometimes I wonder about Tito.

Livingston Press has nominated 'Skin in the Game' for the National Book Award. When I told Tito Venga about this NBA possibility, he just shrugged and said, "so, what's the spread?"

Book Clubs

And when I told Tito Venga that I am available for book clubs, well, he nodded and said yeah, that would be a good use for a book.
