I was on TV!
So, this happened on Monday, and I’m a little behind, but cut me some slack, all right? I was on TV! Woot! Here’s how it went down – I’m friends with the host of Good Day PA, which is a daily program at a local station. She asked me on for their Author Spotlight to talk about MAKE IT COUNT. And of course I was all excited.
I had a GREAT time at Good Day PA. They were all so nice and professional. It was a blast chatting with Amy. If you wanna check out the video, here it is.

I’m writing a new series!
I’m a little behind posting this on my blog. But it’s been a crazy week.
HOWEVER, I have FABULOUS news! I have a new series coming at you in 2015! Whoo hoo! I sold a two-book series to Penguin’s digital-first imprint, Intermix.
I’M SO EXCITED!! Here is the announcement from Publisher’s Marketplace:
In case you can’t read it, it says this: TRUST THE FOCUS, in which a college graduate embarks on a cross-country road trip with his best friend to spread his father’s ashes, but as the summer progresses he realizes he can no longer deny who he is, the future he wants, and his growing feelings for the man by his side.
Ooooh boy, I’m excited! A little bit about this book: It is an m/m (male/male) New Adult romance. I wrote most of it back in November, before I had an agent or my current series deal. It was one of those books I had to write. I couldn’t get the characters or story out of my head. And I fell in love with it. This was a really special book for me to write and I can’t wait to share it with you!
Also, if you see m on Twitter using the hashtag #JusLan, it’s about this book. The main characters are Justin and Landry.
My agent was a rock star helping me sell this book. I’m thrilled to work with editor Kristine Swartz and the Intermix team. I’ll be sure to keep you all informed on the latest!

This is where I say thank you
So MAKE IT COUNT has been out in the world for…umm… *checks calendar* about two weeks. And I really, really need to say thank you. I have been overwhelmed with reader response. You guys are AMAZING. And I’m humbled.
You got Kat and you got Alec (and wanted to make out with him) and you got my humor and what I was trying to do with this book. You saw past my silliness and weenis jokes and saw that this book had heart. And I freaking love you. You’ve messaged me and written reviews. And you’ve made me amazing teasers like this one:
Thank you to Books by Migs
And this one:
Thank you to The Reading Realm.
And this one:
Oh wait, wrong computer folder. Hey there, Charlie. Fistpump right back at ya.
Anyway, I really love you guys. So so much. And I’m so excited for the rest of this series because I think this is a fun cast of characters, each one with his or her own story to tell.
Max and Lea were a blast to write. There’s a creative date and there’s a grocery store cucumber incident and of course sexy times and the ever-present Megan’s humor with heart. I hope you fall for them like I did.
Plus…I have some fun news coming up. So you stay tuned, okay?
Love my readers (I have READERS! *giggle*) so so so much.

My book. I have a book. To buy
So…MAKE IT COUNT is available for purchase today. TODAY. You can get it on your Kindle or Nook or whatever device you use and devour Alec and Kat and the rest of the Bowler University Students in all of their glory. (For links to purchase, go here.)
So, I have thoughts. About this day. Because if you told me last year at this time that I’d be publishing the first in a series with HarperCollins, I would have laughed in your face.
Because at this time last year, I was wrangling a 2 1/2 year old and breastfeeding a newborn. I’d self-published an adult romance toward the end of my pregnancy, which didn’t really reach readers because I had no idea what I was doing in regards to promo. I had a shelved New Adult trilogy that was fun to write but basically plot-less.
And I had an untitled, half-finished story about a girl who didn’t think she was quite bright and was falling for her statistics tutor.
But I managed to finish that story. And I met amazing author friends. And I worked hard and I edited and I queried.
And then it happened.
And here I am. Standing with a book that I wrote from my heart. Asking you to love it.
Actually, you don’t have to love it. Because I love it enough for all of us.
Thanks to everyone who sent me word of encouragement through this process – my friends, family, and critique parters, as well as the whole writing community. THANK YOU! And now I’m off to keep writing. Because this is just the beginning.

RT, here I come!
So, I’m headed to the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention this week in New Orleans. And I couldn’t be more excited. I get to see writer friends, attend workshops, meet my awesome editor, fangirl over my favorite authors, and force my MAKE IT COUNT swag on unsuspecting people.
I’m taking all this fun stuff!
Eeeek!
I’ve also never been to New Orleans.
If you are going, you can find me at Avon’s Hats and Tats even on Thursday at 11:15 a.m. And also at Avon’s Krewe of Muses on Friday at 6:15.
In addition, I’ll be participating in a pub crawl with my publisher and apparently our stop on the tour is a restaurant owned by Channing Tatum – Saints and Sinners. Which means, OF COURSE he has nothing better to do but be there. And OF COURSE our eyes will meet and it will be like the heavens opened and the angels will sing. And then OF COURSE we’ll do a dance battle because what else do you do with Channing Tatum? And we’ll know we were meant to be together.
And we’ll live happily ever after. *
What was I talking about? Crap I got distracted.
Oh, what I meant to say was, if you’re going to NOLA next week, hit me up! I’d love to meet you, talking about Channing Tatum, and give you stuff.
*Just kidding I’m happily married. Even if he can’t dance.

New release: DEAREST CLEMENTINE
So, I’m really excited to announce the release of DEAREST CLEMENTINE by my friend Lex Martin. I was lucky enough to read an early version of this book and I loved it. I was on vacation and I got sick and I curled up in bed with it and it was soo good, I forgot about how sick I felt.
Lex is a great writer and her characters are amazing. You will love Clem, Gavin, and the rest of the gang!
And her cover is gorgeous.
DEAREST CLEMENTINE is a New Adult contemporary romance that released April 18. You can find it on Goodreads here.
Twenty-year-old Clementine Avery doesn’t mind being called bitchy and closed off. It’s safe, and after being burned by her high school sweetheart and stalked by a professor her freshman year of college, safe sounds pretty damn good.
Her number one rule for survival? No dating. That is until she accidentally signs up for a romance writing class and needs material for her latest assignment. Sexy RA Gavin Murphy is more than happy to play the part of book boyfriend to help Clem find some inspiration, even if that means making out…in the name of research, of course.
As Gavin and Clem grow closer, they get entangled in the mystery surrounding a missing Boston University student, and Clem unwittingly becomes a possible target. Gavin tries to show Clem she can handle falling in love again, but she knows she has to be careful because her heart’s at stake…and maybe even her life.
DEAREST CLEMENTINE is a stand-alone novel with two companion novels. This New Adult contemporary romance series is recommended for readers 18+ due to mature content. Look for the second book, DEAREST DANDELION, this June.
WHERE TO PURCHASE:
ABOUT LEX:
Lex Martin writes new adult novels, the sexy kind with lotsa angst, a whole lotta kissing, and the hot happily ever afters. When she’s not writing, she lives a parallel life as an English teacher. She loves printing black and white photos, listening to music on vinyl, and getting lost in a great book. Bitten by wanderlust, this native Texan has lived all over the country but currently resides in the City of Angels with her husband and twin daughters.
STALKING ENCOURAGED!
