Guest Post: 50 Shades of Shame
An interesting perspective. I agree with Olivia that we should not decry an individual’s choice of reading matter on the grounds that we don’t consider it to constitute good literature. However there is a difference between personal attacks on people’s choices and expressing our honest opinion of a work’s merits. If a reviewer doesn’t like a particular book they are honour bound to express their honest opinion as to what they consider to be it’s flaws. The honest expres...
Merry-Go-Round
Perfume once sweet palls.
Nameless faces merge into one.
Mirthless laughter and forced smiles.
Sugar coated words designed to flatter and ensnare echo hollowly down the years.
Escape into nature.
The wind on my face.
Birds sing.
Soon the merry-go-round will begin again.

Crash
door slamming
Heels on deserted pavements echo
The lure of cash
The girl’s heart beats fast
An act
Her life a car crash

Dalliance by K. Morris
Many thanks to Kev Cooper for the below review. Kevin
Originally posted on Great Indie Authors:
Kevin Morris was the very first person to appear on, Kev’s Author Interviews. (Lots of applause, whistling and shouting in the background. I kindly motion everyone to quiet them down. It doesn’t work, but Chris, The Story Reading Ape, happens to be back-stage and pops his head out from behind the curtain with a serious look and… ‘is that a banana in your mouth?’ Anyway he has...
The Hanging Field by Stephanie Bryant Anderson
Originally posted on The Blue Hour:
Though we never stopped, we stared
from the backseat of our car—
our flat-bottom boat—at the body darting
from the end of a rope. I remember the road,
its lines, yellow and broken, the crowd
and a cloud shaped like a hare.
Now the field comes back into view:
I’ve dreamt a horse into the field, or the horse
in my dream came to save me—not
some knight—but the horse,
and I climbed onto his back to keep from
suffocating. But it was more than that—
I was trying...
The Fall
How prosaic was her fall,
She lost her sock, no great matter at all.
She found it strewn upon the floor,
Oh the banality of it all.

In Praise Of My Local Bookshop
I am delighted to announce that my local independent bookshop, The Bookseller Crow (http://booksellercrow.co.uk/) informed me today that they will stock my book, “Dalliance; A Collection of Poetry and Prose”. I had popped in with a copy several weeks ago and was uncertain as to whether The Bookseller Crow would be prepared to take “Dalliance”. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained and, in this case venturing into my local independent book store paid off. I am excited that my book will soo...
A Review Of My Book “Samantha”
My book, “Samantha” tells the story of a young woman forced into prostitution in the city of Liverpool. Can she survive the brutal treatment of her psychopathic pimp, Barry or will Sam end her tortured existence in the murky waters of Liverpool’s Albert Docks?
On checking for reviews of “Samantha”, I was pleased to see that it has received a 5 star review. In a review entitled “Brilliant Short Book” the reviewer writes as follows:
“The characters in this book were bought to life by the way t...
Infringement Of The DMCA
Occasionally I Google my books to see how they are ranking. Yesterday I was concerned to discover that my book, “Street Walker and Other Stories”, which should be available only in the Amazon Kindle store, can, apparently be downloaded from the following (non-Amazon) link, (http://www.ectechnano.com/street-walker-and-other-stories.html).
I didn’t provide Street Walker to ectechnano.com and have no idea how the site obtained my book. Having researched ectechnano.com it appears that it is consi...
