Possible Author Newsletter

A couple of days back, a colleague dropped me an email saying that she was moving on to pastures new, and asking that I keep in touch with news about my poetry.

“You’re a joker”, she said

“You’re a joker”, she said,

Doubling over in laughter.

“If you didn’t laugh

You would cry”

Said I.

And after

I felt proud

That I can still engage

With a girl, half my age

And make her laugh Outloud.

I hear Eliot’s footman snicker.

The stage

Lights flicker

‘Ere the curtain does fall

Covering all.

A Young Lady With A Beautiful Figure

A young lady with a beautiful figure

Said, “I will all gentleman’s offers consider.

I am of an ancient profession,

And confess to having no discretion.

But I do have a beautiful figure!”.

Freedom

Freedom is the autumn breeze

On the face unmasked,

On a sunny day.

But, the weather does freeze

And, ’tis an easy task

To take freedom away.

Has a reputation as a terrible stirrer.

I Hear The Wind Blow

I hear the wind blow.

Later, I will go

To the pub, and laugh

With friends, over a glass.

Yet I hide inside

My smile, the wind’s gust

For all this must pass.

When a young lady named Miss Bess

Said, “would you like to go express?”.

I said, “you ought to know

That I like to go slow.

Oh, you mean the express train, Bess!”.
