Poetry Dies
Poetry dies
In eyes
That did see
Into eternity.
But, perhaps, lives on
After the poet has gone
In words which, maybe
Touch you and me
With their profundity
Ebook or paper, you pays your money and you makes your choice
Yesterday (23 August), I announced that my “Selected Poems” is available in the Amazon Kindle store, https://kmorrispoet.com/2019/08/23/my-selected-poems-is-now-available-for-purchase-in-the-kindle-store/
My office is a relaxed place and (within reason) no one objects to the odd non-work-related email. Consequently, I emailed yesterday informing my colleagues that my “Selected Poems” was available in Kindle, and provided a link enabling anyone interested to take a look or purchase my book.

A Young Lady Whose Name Is Ling
A young lady whose name is Ling
Tied me up in the budding spring,
And when the summer came
She did exactly the same.
I wonder what the autumn will bring?
A Young Lady Whose Name Is Bex
A young lady whose name is Bex
Does all the good gentlemen vex
As, when out on a hot date,
She brings along her friend Kate,
But they never agree to TexMex!

I Know A Young Lady Named Hortense
I know a young lady named Hortense
Whose poems just do not make sense!
She writes them in latin
Whilst dressed in pink satin,
And they’re all in the present tense!
I know a young lady named Hortense
Whose poems just do not make sense!
She writes them in latin
Whilst dressed in pink satin,
And I wish she’d mend my fence!

Fantasies
When fantasies turn
To reality
Often we learn
The meaning of banality
Yet we
Continue to experiment,
Then repent,
Experiment, then repent,
In a dance of monotony
Where He and She
Lose all touch with reality.

When A Young Lady Named Kate
When a young lady named Kate
Invited me out on a date,
My good friend Miss Lou
Lost more than her shoe,
But we all enjoyed our date!
Geans
A poem written by me some time back.
Are we just our geans
Means
To a meaningless conclusion,
A confusion of arms, legs and bed?
The head
Is often overruled
By the fool
Lust.
Into eternity we thrust
Desperately hoping to leave one of our kind
Behind
Ere our dalliance ends in dust.

Some Find It Easy To Write About Death
Some find it easy to write about death
And readers raise
A glass in praise
Of their art.
Larkin feared the loss of breath
And, in Aubade
Played out his fears.
Whilst others hide inside
Their art
The fear that lurks within their heart.
