RAVE REVIEWS FOR KRUSCHMEISTER

Reviews are finally coming in for my latest super-scary, football-themed book, KRUSCHMEISTER. Here are some of them: 1. I read this book in three sessions…I found it hard to put down. Spell-binding! Michael McCrossan. 2. Really good story line and illustrations. Very frightening, but in a good way. I would rate it 10 out of [...]

BIG SCHOOLS – BIG FANS – BIG BOOK SIGNINGS!

We have just finished one of the best two-week tours of all time; the fabulous North East of England did us proud yet again. Hexham Middle School, Whytrig Middle School, Valley Gardens Middle School, St Columba’s RC Primary School…all amazing places to visit! After our Hexham visit, reported in the last blog, we moved on to the [...]

SUPERB IN THE NORTH EAST

South East….North East…what does it matter! We are lucky in that the schools we visit seem to be equally fabulous wherever we go! We arrived in the wild fells and moors outside Hexham on a very windy late afternoon. Our accommodation turned out to be a gem of a place – loved by walkers and [...]

SUPERB IN THE SOUTH EAST

After a week of writing and re-charging, Kath and I were on the road again, this time heading for Huntingdon to take up my new post of Patron of Reading at St Peter’s School. We were to spend two very happy days there working with hundreds of pupils from Years 7 to 10. After the usual great [...]

BACK INTO THE (WHITE) SPRING OF THINGS!

Hope you all had a great summer.  Kath and I had some lovely days out, including a visit to the famous Hampton Court Palace – hope you like the pic. I also worked hard on my sixth Mokee Joe book, set in Dubai; it’s almost finished, but not quite. …And then it was off and away [...]

LEEDS LEADS THE WAY!

Kath and I finished off the summer term in style. We travelled up the M1 to Leeds to visit the Bramley cluster of six schools, hopefully to enthuse lots of reading during the summer hols. We took on a ground floor apartment in nearby Headingly to avoid travelling up and down the motorway, and that proved [...]

REDCOURT ST ANSELMS

Thank you to Ms Mazumder and everyone at this lovely school. Having not had time to recover fully from our manic (in the nicest possible way) trip to Jersey, it was with some trepidation I headed up to the Wirral. Kath did not accompany me on this occasion as she opted to stay home and [...]

JERSEY JEWELS

We arrived in the Channel Isles! It seemed a long way from Rotherham, but at least we knew that if the schools in Jersey were anywhere near as good as Roughwood, Herringthorpe and Greasbrough Juniors back in Yorkshire, then we were in for a real treat! And our final two schools in  the South and South East of the UK, Mile Oak Primary [...]

JERSEY BOYS (AND GIRLS!)

We’ve arrived in the Channel Isles! It seems a long way from Rotherham, but if the schools here in Jersey are anywhere near as good as Roughwood Herringthorpe and Greasbrough Juniors proved back in Yorkshire, then we’re in for a real treat! We’ve just checked into the Hotel De Normandie right by the sea and the weather [...]
