Funny Friday Photos: And a PG-13 Pun

Happy Friday!

Yesterday was my first day back to school. I'm actually writing this post on Wednesday, so I hope it was a good day! Having some wibbly-wobbly, timey-whimey stuff going on writing this paragraph.
Speaking of which, the new Doctor lands tomorrow! I can't wait. I think Peter Capaldi is going to be excellent. And Vastra is back! She is so kick-a@$!
I didn't get to see Guardian's of the Galaxy, but Boy 2 told me the ending (he wanted to warn me because he thought I might cry. And he's probably right.) Anyway, knowing the two (GotG and the Doctor) makes this meme pretty funny!
We actually have a clear winner for last week's funniest photo, and it's...

Are you ready for the new photos?

I had to sing the song (Home on the Range), but then I cracked up. It looks like the picture is taken at the buffalo ranch outside of town. Yes, we have a buffalo ranch in Wyoming. They have camels, too.

More adorable than funny. :)

Corgi down!

I had this happen at Boy 2's kindergarten celebration. They didn't pray, but apparently she was teaching them to wait until everyone was served. I felt like such a boor! I swear I have manners!

The verb issues are annoying, but their faces are hilarious.

I just love stingrays!
Could this qualify for a pun? Or is it just funny?

Here are some for-sure puns.

Well, that's it! I hope we all have a great, relaxing weekend!
My favorite is the corgi who has fallen and can't get up.Which is yours?
Photos from Cheezburger, as usual.

Funny Friday Photos - Warning: Happy Puns

Personally it's been an okay week, but over all, it's been one hell of a week for sadness, suffering, violence and abuses of power, hasn't it? Looking for funny photos has been kind of therapeutic, so if you're feeling a little down, I hope they help you, as well.

Next week I return to school! I'm excited about the school year because I'm looking forward to the work we're doing around mindfulness in education, and expanding on last year's start. I attended a workshop today on using neuroscience to augment therapies, and have a better idea of how to incorporate mindfulness on the individual level, as well as the group/class level.

Not much to report on the writing front. I've been attending to other parts of my life this week (ie. meetings to prepare for the school year, mothering and cleaning the house.) I'll get back to Book 2 tomorrow. Anyone want to help me name the darn thing?

Enough talking. Thanks for letting me chat, but let's get to the pictures!

There is nothing to say.

But the question is, why do you have to ask it?

What is that effect called? I can't remember.

Do you see the cat's face? Look for the face!

It was the lipstick that made me laugh.

Change the "gurrl" to "boy" and it's every fangirl in the world.
Okay, since the last one wasn't technically a picture (I had to include it! It cracked up the therapist in me!), I'll include one more picture.

Here's a couple puns!
Are your mirror neurons smiling? Mine are.
A nice wok in the park is always refreshing.
I was going to choose the cat in the vacuum, but then I found the smile on the house, and that's my favorite this time.
How was your week? Anything exciting happening for you?  Did you like any of the photos this week?

Funny Friday Photos

Happy Friday!
The following picture pretty much sums up our house...

That's when Doctor Who returns, and it's all Doctor Who crazy around our house. Boy 1 is making Tardis's out of Legos (both the inside and the actual police box) and Boy 2 is toting his Adipose around to watch when they play Doctor Who videos. I guess I've passed on the obsession gene.

I don't know who made this meme, but it is so utterly cool. I found it on Cheeseburger (like the rest of the photos) and there is no attribution, or at least I couldn't find it, but still wanted to share. Because it's amazing.
While waiting for the Doctor, we'll go see Guardians of the Galaxy. We just haven't had time yet. It seems like every other weekend we're going somewhere.
All right! Here's some new photos to help brighten your weekend!

Waaatcha' dooin'?

Um, eew.

One of my least favorite parts in that play.

Splinters?

First contact. So the next one isn't an animal - but it made me laugh hard, so here it is.
Creative shelving of the card section.
Puns!

I think my favorite is the sympathy card. It's such a funny shock.
Do you have a photo you liked more than the others?

Funny Friday Photos With Extra Puns

Welcome to another Friday! They just keep coming, don't they?
My week has been very...uneventful. What that translates to is that I spent it cleaning and purging the house, and writing. (Yay!)

Look at that little progress bar over to your right. Notice, it's above 50,000? I'm nearing the end, so things are getting interesting in the Realm. Fairy Kings and Pixie Queens are acting up, and poor Hazel is caught right in the middle, in the very worst way.

Last week's funniest photo was:

Another tie! The yoda truck and the adopted dog tied with two votes each, and if you want to see them again, click here. Otherwise, let's get on to this week's photos.

Her face! That is totally how I feel inside when my last nerve breaks.

It's cute how the mama moose is laying beside the pool, watching her babies.

I'm one of the few people I know allergic to beer. It's because of the sulfur content in the hops.
Weird, huh?

Doesn't this make you wonder what happened for them to put that in there?

Quite honestly, I'm like this with any Public Display of Affection, anywhere!

I don't know how this is a pun, but it was cute and made me laugh. Anyone get the pun?

Player wolf.

Now she knows who she really is.
I found quite a few puns this week. I wasn't sure if they were funny enough, so hoped to make up for potential sketchy quality with quantity. I hope you find at least one you like. :)

I waaant you to want me...I neeeed you to knead me... Which band sang that song?

Extra points to the person who knows which Shakespeare play this comes from!
(And yes, I know already.)

Like the final scenes in Labyrinth.

I can't decide if this is funny or horrific. I keep laughing, though.
My favorite is cheering Mom up. It's just the right find for the day. Except when I got mad, Boy 1 didn't try to cheer me up. He took back the ship he made me in Minecraft instead. When he told me the consequence of my frustration, I couldn't help but laugh, and I think it burst his self-righteous bubble. We're all good now, though.
Do you have a favorite this week?

Funny Friday Photos: Animals and a Little More

I hope everyone had a good week!
Isn't this just the cutest little octopus?
It is an octopus, isn't it?
My big news is that I found Finding Meara on four different pirating sites.  Four of 'em! And one of them had the audacity to make an audiobook for it!
Initially I was upset, and was going to go through the whole cease and desist process to get them to take it down. Then, I realized how much time it was taking (and would take) to go to the trouble of researching and writing a letter, monitoring if they responded, and the potential cost of  a lawyer. Next, I stumbled on this video of Neil Gaiman talking about his books being pirated.

So I decided to take his lead, and do nothing. I would rather be writing something new.
However, I would like to ask a favor. If you've found this blog or enjoyed Finding Meara after downloading from a pirate site, and you're a member of Goodreads, could you please give it a rating or review there? That would help me out so much. Well, as long as it's favorable. If you hated it, don't bother and I'm glad you didn't spend any money for it!
I guess we're ready to start the funny photos. Last week we had a tie between the accommodating stingray and the fabulous dog, so I used my vote to decide on just one. Congratulations to the fabulous dog!

Here are this week's picks...

My father makes that same face when I bring out the camera.

I just noticed the last three photos are all with surprised/scared faces....
Branching out a little with some non-animal photos. It was difficult this week to find good animal ones.

Anybody need a hand? (Ha, ha!)
Apparently, everyone has a secret in their past.

Lasagne monster?
And here's some puns.

I just had to.
The next one isn't a rural-gnome, or a city-gnome, it's a...

And we might as well end with a cephalopod.

So, which is your favorite? Mine was Junk in the Trunk. It made Boy 2 giggle like crazy, too.
Have a great weekend!

In Defense of Funny Animal Photos

Warning: Extremely Serious Post Ahead

For the last several months, as the world becomes crazier and crazier, I've been wondering if people come to read Funny Friday Photos and think I'm vapid and inane, and don't have a clue about what is going on around me. The truth is, I do. I am very aware of the horror in the world right now.

I know that children are starving and dying, while their mothers watch helplessly. I watch the news and am horrified at the increasing violence around the world, with the innocent paying for the political agendas of others with their lives. I know people the world over are dying for their beliefs. I know that humans are committing horrible atrocities against each other. That abuses of power and corruption seem to be everywhere. That ordinary people continue to take advantage of each other in the worst ways, and that the distribution of pain and suffering is woefully unbalanced.

Here I sit, in my comfortable house, with electricity and food at my fingertips, and I feel embarrassed. I know how fortunate I am, but that's not enough. I try to do what I can to make a difference in the world, but that's not enough either. I wish I had an answer to what to do to fix it all, but of course, I don't. And I don't have the power, either.

But I don't want anyone to mistake my regular funny photos or continual upbeat messages as being ignorant of the state of the world around me or trying to avoid thinking about it.

The thing is, I don't want to add to anyone's load of crap by bringing the dark side of the world to this blog. And if, by putting together a humorous post weekly, I can lighten that load a little bit, then I'm all for it. We never know, any one of us, what someone is going through. They can appear to be absolutely fine, while inside there is a mess of emotion and heartache. Some people need to escape, and if I can provide that by sharing my optimism and sense of humor (and keeping out the dark and sad thoughts and observations I have)...Well, I'm happy to do so.

Here's what I know. Human beings are amazingly resilient and capable of great things. As long as we have hope that the bad stuff will end, as long as we have even just one friend, we can endure horrible, awful things. Anne Frank says it best. I saw this quote on twitter, and fell in love with it. She said:
I don't think of all the misery, but of the beauty that remains.
I'm just trying to remind the people who come here of the beauty that remains. And there is beauty in laughter.

Funny Friday Photos

Happy Friday, everyone!
We got back from vacation on Sunday, I blinked, and here it is Friday already! I hope everyone had a great week.

It was a great vacation. We had a blast at Legoland (it's the cutest place in the world), I got horribly sunburned at the beach because Boy 1 and I spent three hours playing in the waves (we just couldn't get out), and we spent time hiking in the Grand Canyon and in Arches National Park (I liked Arches best, and we'll be returning some day.)

But now it's back to life as usual! Last week's favorite photo was actually a tie between demon cat and melting dog, so if you want to refresh your memory of both, click here. Otherwise, continue on scrolling to this week's funny photos.

I kept thinking the dog reminded me of someone, and then I got to the bottom.
I retweeted this on Twitter, but it's so cute I had to share it here, too.

Every time.

I rarely do this, but just Monday I jerked awake so hard I about bounced Hubby out of bed!

Give me some waffles!

Cue the music...

This dog knows it's fabulous!
And a couple of puns:

More a scary house! Has anyone else seen 'This House Possessed" from the 70's?
It probably had a face like this.
I'm not sure which is my favorite this week. I think maybe the fabulous dog.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has voted or commented over the last several weeks. I'm sorry I haven't been very good at responding. I'm planning on changing that, starting now.
Do you have a favorite? How was your week?

Funny Friday Photos: Cats and Dogs and Bilbo, Oh My

Happy Friday!
I can't give you last week's favorite photo, because I'm tricking you all! I actually wrote this post on July 3rd. We went on vacation to Legoland this week, and as you're reading this we'll either be at the Grand Canyon, or on our way home.
I hope you enjoy this week's photos and we'll see you next week!

Add water to some dogs and they melt.
While some don't.
Which might be why dogs don't like baths, no matter where they're given.

Satan is here to collect on your debt.

I remember those days.
Here's the puns:

Now I'm singing the ballad of Bilbo Baggins "Billboard, Billboard Baggins."Have you ever seen the video of Leonard Nimoy singing The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins? It's actually painful to watch, but if you want to take the risk, here it is.

I have no clue what the hell the dancers are doing. Even by 70's standards, the dancing is just...there are no words. Someone must have been ingesting something illegal when they choreographed the video.
And to end this post, a little wisdom:

My favorite this week is the cat at the table. Were you able to find a favorite this week?

Funny Friday Photos and Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Friday
and
Happy Fourth of July for those in the US!
The last two week's kind of flew by. It was lovely to spend time with my mom and nephew, and to be with my boys again. I've been working on book two, as well. Life has been very relaxed and happy. I will admit it was weird not to have a post up last week, though! I missed you all!
The song Happy by Pharell Williams was written just for me - a Facebook quiz says so!
I hope you all had a happy two weeks, as well. If it wasn't happy, and you are a little stressed:

Enjoy some funny photos, instead! Last week's winner is:

And now the new photos:

And a pun or two?

My favorite this week is the dog under the blanket. It looks so crazy...and caught. My second is the cheese grater pun.
Which is your favorite?

Funny Friday Photos: A Little Bit of Everything

Happy Friday!
I hope everyone's week went well! My week was filled with appreciation for living in Wyoming in June, and missing my sister. I think Father's Day was the beginning of a perfect storm of events that culminated in feeling a little sad this week.
But, while there's something beautiful about grief, it's no fun living in it (for the grievers or those around the grieved). As gratitude is an automatic feel-better, I also focused on how beautiful Wyoming is in June. The weather is cool, the rolling hills are green and my yard is filled with yellow, pink and purple wildflowers. I wish you could see it, but when I take pictures it doesn't look nearly as beautiful as in real life.
Instead, here's a picture of the rainbow that appeared on my way home last night. It came right before the sun set and was fiery red. It's the first full rainbow I've seen in a long time.
No filter - isn't the grass a beautiful green!
The other side. And the top of my car...Sorry.
All right, let's move on to funny photos! Last week's favorite was:

And the new ones.

Vegetarian cat.

You can't tell me you've never thought of this.

Half-off! Get it? Huh? Huh?
Another one that always comes to mind when I hear the word "carrion." Sorry it's a gross picture, though.

I'm spending the week visiting with my mother, nephew and my boys, so I'm not going to have a post next Friday. I think she deserves my full attention for a week (insert winking emoticon here.) I will have a post the week after (the Fourth of July!), though, so I hope to see you then!

I loved all the puns, but the brain-freeze dog keeps making me laugh so I guess he's my favorite this week.
Did you have a favorite this week?
