Funny Friday Photos: An Eclectic Collection
Happy Friday to all!
Here's a splurt of cuteness to start off your Friday.
If I didn't already have four dogs, that photo would drive me to get a pug puppy.
I hope your week went well. Mine zoomed by. I swear, it was just Sunday. I've barely been online for the last two weeks.
Here's the new funny photos!
I just can't write down what I'm actually thinking...
From which the LOL cat was born.
I can think of more entertaining things to do while I wait.
I had to play 6/8 music once, and that felt all timey-wimey.
Here are our puns!
Here's an extra photo to inspire and amaze you. It's a new photo from the Hubble Space Telescope of the Pillars of Creation. It is much sharper than previous photos. The clarity of the bottom half of the photo is fantastic.
Can you believe Hubble is twenty-five years old? It's mind-boggling to me. I remember when they were going to let it become space debris. I'm so glad they didn't. It would've been such a waste.
For funniest photo, I have to go with the Cat butt. I am hanging my head in shame right now at my infantile enjoyment of the photo, but apparently that's where I am this week.

Funny Friday Photos: First Edition
Happy FridayandHappy New Years!
Anyone feel like this about the new year?
That's me in past years. This is how my New Years started this year:
And then on New Years Day I cleaned. Well, actually I've been calling it "purging the house" and been working on the process the whole time I've been on break. I'm going through everything and trying to simplify, decrease the excess.
I didn't make any resolutions, either, and I'm not having any expectations for 2015. I'm going to try hard to live in the moment and not be emotionally wrapped up in what might be, or should be, or could be. I think I learned this past year that it's better to enjoy what is, and go with the flow of things, rather than fight against things you cannot change. That sounds so much like I've given up, but really, the only thing I've given up on is being a control freak. I still have hopes and dreams, and am working toward them, but recognize that I'm only one piece of the puzzle and I can only do my part.
So! Let's move on from that Buddhist moment and get to some funny photos!
I wonder if this is real or photoshopped? If not, I want a chicken like this.
He made sure to get there early to get a good seat.
I didn't overeat this holiday season, but my food choices were bad enough it didn't really matter.
I don't think anyone from my work would understand the reference. I'm going to have to take a poll on Monday and find out. I'll share the results next Friday.
Oh, the mental picture...
Here's some puns!
Literally.
Get it? Brush with Death? :)
There it is! The first Funny Friday Photos for 2015.
On Friday I'm going to go to the Denver Art Museum to see the Cartier exhibit with my boys and one of my friends from high school. There's also a Matisse exhibit at the same time, so I'm looking forward to both. Then it's back to purging and cleaning for the rest of the weekend.
My favorite was the customer pooping a tire. It's gross, but I actually did laugh out loud, so I guess it wins my vote. My second is Frothy, the Rabid Snowdog. That's a chuckle out loud picture.

Funny Friday Photos: Lots of Photos, Lots of Cats
Thank goodness it's Friday, and for me,it's the beginning of Christmas Vacation!
This week my friend, Dr. Holly Wells, and I were contacted by the School Library Journal about using one of our #ShakesTag tweets in an article they're writing about Shakespeare. Once it's a sure thing, and the article is printed in their online journal, I'll share the link. I can't say how excited I am that #ShakesTag is getting attention beyond my group of twitter friends who play the game.
With three mentions, last week's winning photo was:
And here's this week's photos:
Drums and surprised kittens - a fun combination.
My winters in Wyoming.
Grumpy Cat's brother, Apathetic Cat.
At times, this is accurate.
The only creature that should even attempt duck-face.
It took me a second to see the cat - I only saw the egg.
For those cold nights.
I think they needed a copy-editor.
And a couple of puns:
Isn't it amazing!
Good old Max Planck, the originator of Quantum theory.
Finally, I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas!
My favorite this week is Fleece Navidad. The lamb's joy is contagious.
I'll be taking the next week off, so I hope you all have Happy Holidays, and I'll see you in 2015!

Funny Friday Photos: Where's Your Happy?
Happy Friday!
My lovely online friend and fellow writer, Lexa Cain (she wrote the awesome YA book Soul Cutter - you should read it - very, very good), tagged me for a fun Facebook meme called Eight Terrible Titles, created by D.L. Hammons. The way it works is you scroll the cursor through your manuscript, stop randomly on any page, and select the phrase your cursor landed on - and soon you have eight terrible titles. Instead of keeping it all on Facebook, I thought I'd share over here, too.
Eight Terrible Titles by Lara Schiffbauer
1. Keep Ten Paces Behind2. Any Other Way3. Be a Dragon4. Like a Dirty Diaper5. Time to Find Another Portal6. Through the Fairy Ring7. Braided Bun and Periwinkle Daisies8. An Audible Wave of Energy
I actually kind of like "Through the Fairy Ring." Not at all original though.
There was actually a consensus last week on which photo was the week's favorite. It was:
Are you ready for this week's photos? All right then! Let's go!
Absolutely the way I feel when I drink two cups of coffee and don't eat.
Sounds better than sea urchins. Looks better, too!
I don't think cats approve of anything humans do.
Leo the Lop? Is that you?
Too bad they don't have any glue... Oh. Wait.
The phrase "tear away pants" always reminds me to watch the Full Monty. I love that movie!
To start getting us in the Holiday spirit:
My favorite this week is the dog with a happy in its teeth. Just too cute of an expression.
I'm excited for this weekend because I'm finally going to get to see The Guardians of the Galaxy! I bought it back on Tuesday and I've been looking at it longingly all week. Okay, I'm laying it on a little thick, but I am excited to watch it. And cry.
You know what movies are as bad as Disney movies as far as making you cry? Pokemon! I've watched two this week with my sons and each one had the tears rolling. Self-sacrifice and grief and loss themes do that to me, though.
Anyway! Did you like any particular photo this week? What are your weekend plans? Have you already seen Guardians of the Galaxy?
Have a great weekend!

Funny Friday Photos: Shark Pranks
Happy Friday!
I think this question every weekend.
I hope your week was quick and painless.
I remember when I used to write real posts. My life seemed to have so many more interesting things going on. Things I thought other people might be interested in, at least. Now, I find it hard to imagine anything that's going on with me might be interesting to others. It's funny how much can change in a year.
But, enough seriousness. Let's get to the photos:
So, yeah. My heart breaks for this poor dog. Been there, felt that!
I have never seen such a disgusted dog.
When sharks prank humans.
Crazy, homicidal cat.
Puns!
I think my favorite was the disappointed dog, but the soul collecting dog was a close second.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Funny Friday Photos: Romaine Calm
Happy Thanksgiving to all!(Even if you didn't celebrate the holiday this week!)
I have one thing in particular to be thankful for. Last week I had a surge of blog visitors--like, in the thousands type surge. I wish I knew who to thank for it, but I have no idea how so many people found my blog. If you're a return visitor, though, thank YOU for coming back!
I've used my holiday time to write. My husband took my children to visit his parents, and I stayed home to take care of our four dogs. Being alone means I have unlimited writing time. I've also been watching movies the rest of my family doesn't want to see, including Hamlet with David Tennant and Only Lovers Left Alive with Tom Hiddleston. It's very different to do what I want to do. I never realize it until moments like these, when I don't have to watch Spongebob for the thousandth time.
Ready for this week's funny photos? Here you go!
Not outdated in Wyoming. I personally know two people with handlebar mustaches.
Okay, maybe outdated, but still worn.
So, the "carry croutons" just makes me laugh, for some reason.
King Arthur's unknown, neighboring kingdom.
Truly a kitten's nightmare.
Which is faster - turtle or sloth?
This is what my son's head looks like.
Like around here, with all the fracking trucks. And yes, I mean trucks having to do with the fracking process, not as a word substitute for the "F"-word.
Weekly puns:
And here's an adorable picture I've included just because it is adorable. It looks like the baby snail is kissing the big one.
My favorite this week is "romaine calm" walrus, but I like "get a long little doggie," too.
Which is your favorite?

Funny Friday Photos: Cutesicles Are Cute
Happy Friday, everyone!
My week started off with Boy 1 breaking his wrist (with the help of Boy 2) and only got crazier from there.
Today I saw this video about the Lammily doll (which is a doll with average proportions) and what some second gradeArs thought about the doll. I've fought with my body image all my life, and I have to say the children's perspectives on the doll and what makes people beautiful was pretty awesome. There's so much I like about the video I could turn this into its own post, so instead I'll just encourage you to take a look at the video and let me know what you think.
This week's funny photos are:
I hear this in Will Smith and Harry Connick Jr.'s voices at the end of Independence Day when they deliver the bomb to the mothership.
Just 'cause, you know, it is cute.
The origins of Pac-Man.
For all my friends with grammar issues.
A few puns...
I think my favorite (besides the video) is the Pac-Man observatory.
Which is your favorite?

Funny Friday Photos: Have You Heard of Sarchasm?
Happy Friday!
So, this is what it's been like around my house.
I now know why I was so tired last week, and it's spreading through the rest of my family.
I've started listening to audio-books while I'm driving to work and then out to pick up my children from school, which gives me a good hour of "reading" a day. I just finished Roger Zelazny's The Nine Princes of Amber, read by Roger Zelazny. I can see why it's a classic.
When I pitched Finding Meara, even though I'd only read the beginning of the Nine Princes, I'd relate the story as "Roger Zelazny meets Janet Evanovich." I'm happy to say that I wasn't too far off. The mixture of science and fantasy is there, as well as the alternate world, and urban fantasy elements. Also, there's a heavy family theme in Princes, although it's more of an epic fantasy kind of plot. Taking all of that into consideration, I guess it's not surprising I enjoyed the story. Combined with great writing, world building and fun dialogue, I think Roger Zelazny is going to become one of my favorite authors.
Last week's funniest photo is:
Angry Chair! This week's post is a little on the long side. I kept finding cute photos and just added them in. I hope no one minds!
Ha!
I'm embarrassed to admit, but I'm the clueless dog on the right most of the time.
The way of insistent salespeople.
This is just too cute a picture.
Still...awwwww.
This picture does not make sense.
The ones made off-planet just aren't as good quality.
A few puns:
Dandelion - isn't it beautiful!
Wouldn't it be helpful if life gave us such obvious signs?
I have a tie this week between lettuce cat and sarcastic dogs. I really like them both.
Do you like any one photo more than the others?
What have you been reading lately?

Funny Friday Photos: A Plethora of Puns
Thank goodness it's Friday!
How has your week gone? All week long I've been falling asleep on the couch while trying to write. Lots and lots of emotion at work, which I've noticed totally drains me. It's been a good week, but exhausting.
The scene I'm writing is the "dark moment," the third plot point for the story. It's a lot of imaginative work, and so it's fun, but also hard. I'm looking forward to editing. It's starting to feel like a book. My second novel!
And I still don't have a name. Maybe I'll ask the people who beta read for me for suggestions.
Last week's funniest photo is:
Are you ready for this week's photos?
Awww... Poor Kitty.
I totally know this feeling. This week.
Cat auditions for Wizard of Oz.
Glad that's clear.
Angry Chair...
Happy Chair! Attitude is everything.
I wasn't sure my picks for puns were funny enough, so I added some extras to make up in quantity any lack in quality. I think they're funny, but we all have our own opinions, right?
I swear I said "abdominal snowman" until I was in high-school.
And then I still had to think about which word was right.
I love this!
I hope everyone has a great next week and fun, restful weekend!
My favorite photo this week was Angry Chair. It looks so petulant.Which did you like best?

Funny Friday Photos: Jack O' Lanterns on Meth
Happy FridayandHappy Halloween!
I hope the week treated you kindly.
I'd love to chat, but I can't think of anything to say... My page views have severely dropped over the last couple weeks and I have to wonder if that's because I'm boring. Or maybe there's something different about the way Google Analytics is calculating it's page views. Maybe?
I still enjoy funny photos, though, so here is this week's offering for those of you who are sticking with me!
My life is full of Minecraft and Pokemon, so the different evolutions of Charmander (to Charmeleon and then to Charizard) as cup sizes tickled my funny bone.
He happens to be one of my favorite Pokemon.
Peekaboo!
Why would anyone think this was a good idea?
Totally captures the feeling.
This pun is doubling as a funny animal caption this week.
And in my head I hear "Sixty-nine, Dude!!" from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
Doesn't everyone have a skeleton in their closet?
I love Grinny Pig. He makes me happy.
Which do you like?
PS: Be careful tonight. There are more alcohol related car accidents on Halloween when it falls on a Friday than when it's on any other day of the week. Also, pedestrian deaths are higher on Halloween than usual. So, don't drink and drive, be wary of those who do, and watch out for trick-or-treaters in your neighborhoods.
