Someday Excerpt

“You don’t need to feel obligated to have me here, just because I don’t want to be in that house,” she says finally.
My eyes fly to hers. “There’s never been obligation between us, Sof. And there won’t be now. I hope you’re not here with me because you feel obligated to fix some of the hurt or guilty…”
She sets down her fork, her expression stricken. “I’m not. I mean, I do want to fix some of the hurt, but it’s because I love you, not because of—” Her eyes soften. “What?”
“You love me?”
“You really think I ever stopped?”

Irresistible Excerpt

“So you are still attracted to me?” she whispers, looking around to see if anyone hears us.

I glance around too. It’s too loud for anyone to hear us, the music pulsing so hard I feel it in my gut, and our group has moved near the bar where the girls are getting their drinks. Scarlett and Jamison are already wrapped around each other, and I don’t even see Theo and Sofie.
“Oh, it’s way more than that,” I say over the music.

She stares up at me, her brow creased slightly in contemplation before it clears and she laughs. “But we haven’t even danced yet.” She lifts one shoulder up, her expression coy.
I set my drink down on the closest high-top and put my hands on her hips, tugging her toward me. Her hands land on my chest and she lets out a shaky laugh.

“I think we’ve been doing our own little dance with each other from the moment we met,” I whisper in her ear.

She shivers and I grin, pulling back to meet her eyes again.

“I just got out of—” She starts then shakes her head. “We should be careful, Wyatt. This…itch between us…if we…scratch it and it doesn’t work out—” She looks back toward our group.
“This is more than an itch and you know it.” My palms tighten around her waist and I pull her flush against me. Her eyes widen when she feels what I’m no longer trying to hide. “But we can call it whatever makes you happy.”

Her eyes flutter when I lift my hand and skate it up her neck until I’m cupping her jaw. I lean down until my lips almost touch hers but don’t go there, not yet.

“Dance with me.”

And then I don’t wait for her answer.

I take a step back and thread my hand with hers, and we walk through the crowd of people dancing to find a place in the middle of it all. She’s shy at first, her movements gradually getting looser as we begin to move together. At first we’re close but not touching, our eyes swallowing each other whole as we sway to the rhythm, but then I can’t take it anymore.

I have to touch her.

My hands go low on her waist, her arms wrapping around my neck, and I want to yell a fucking victory cry with how good she feels against me.

For the longest time, her eyes never leave mine as we dance from one song to the next, the desire so thick between us I can almost taste it. With my leg between hers, I feel her heat as she swivels those hips against me, driving me out of my mind. Her hair sticks to her neck and I hold it back, leaning closer to blow on her glistening skin.

“You’re so good at this,” she says, breathless.
Her eyes glaze over, and I’d love nothing more than to make her come right here grinding against my leg, but she takes a self-conscious step back.

“We’re good at this,” I say, twirling her around and around before pulling her back against my chest.

Secret Love Excerpt

“I’m so glad you’re here.”

He leans in and kisses me once. So soft and sweet.
He steps back and I want to pull him in again, run my fingers through his hair and kiss him until we’re both breathless.
But he takes my hand and leads me into the kitchen where I can tell he’s been working hard. There’s a pile of dishes in the sink, a massive wooden bowl of Caesar salad and bottles of alcohol on the island, with limes and lemon zest in pretty little glass bowls.

I inhale and sigh. “It smells so good in here.”

“I hope you meant it when you said you like spinach and mushroom lasagna. I made my mom’s recipe.”

My stomach does a little flip-flop. “You remember everything, don’t you? I think I said that during one of our first texts.”

“I remember everything about you.” He smirks.

“Are you trying to seduce me, Henley Ward?”

“Is it working?”
Now I’m the one smirking.

“Spinach and mushroom lasagna sounds delicious.”

“Would you like a cocktail or wine?”

I point to the lemon vodka. “I can’t resist anything with lemon.”
“

One lemon drop coming right up, tiny dancer.”

My heart cannot take all this swoonworthiness. Made-up word, but it’s entirely how I feel.
“Can I do anything to help?”

“You standing there looking the way you do in my kitchen is extremely helpful. Except you’re taking my breath away, so I suggest you keep a safe distance. I want to feed you, but these hands have a mind of their own.”

He holds up his hands and waves his long, thick fingers.
My mind goes straight to the way those skilled fingers worked me over, and I flush. He smiles like he knows exactly where my mind is. It’s the sexiest thing when he mixes the drink in the shaker; his forearms make my mouth water. He pours the drink into a pretty glass and garnishes it with a twist of lemon zest.

“You’re not having one?” I ask when he hands it to me.

He grabs a glass and lifts a bottle of Jameson. “I’ll have this.”

He pours the amber liquid into the glass and taps it against mine. “To a spectacular date.”

“Oh, this is a date?” I can’t stop smiling.

“It’s absolutely a date.” He can’t stop smiling either.

“Good to know. To a spectacular date then.” I tap his glass again and we take a sip of our drinks.

“Oh, that’s so good.”
He leans over and kisses me.

“Agreed,” he says. “So good.”

He points to the table. “Have a seat. You’re tempting me with those pretty lips.”

Crazy Love Excerpt

The door clicks shut behind us, sealing us in our own little world. The air crackles between Addy and me, more electrified than ever.

We spent the night in the same bed last night. Woke up tangled together, her breath warm against my skin, her fingers curled against my chest like she belonged there. But tonight feels brand new. The kisses at the party changed everything. And maybe the vows we said have something to do with it too. The realization that, for now anyway, in this moment, for this time, we’re committed to each other.

I can’t begin to know what is next for us.

But a switch flipped tonight between us, and now we stand here, looking at each other in anticipation.

I clear my throat, not sure where to put my hands because I want them all over her more than I want my next breath. “Did you mean what you said about giving me permission?”

She meets my gaze, her lips parting slightly. “I did. I do.”

We both acknowledge how fitting her wording is with a smirk.

Relief washes over me so strongly that I almost have to sit down. Because I want her…more than anything. Maybe it’s crazy to let this boundary fall, but I can’t even bring myself to care right now.

“I do too,” I say.

I take a step toward her.

“You look so beautiful tonight,” I tell her, my voice hushed in the stillness of the room.
A blush rises in her cheeks, and I hum the melody to “Lady in Red” under my breath. Her lips curve in the faintest of smiles, and I step even closer, lifting my hands to rest on her waist. We move together, a slow, gentle sway, as the moonlight spills through the window, casting a glow over her skin and highlighting the way her eyes shine when she looks at me.
I cup her cheek, brushing my thumb over her skin. She leans into my touch, and that’s all it takes. I close the space between us, and it feels so fucking good to kiss her. She sighs against my mouth, and I breathe her in, tasting the sweetness of our wedding cake. I deepen the kiss, my fingers threading through her hair, and she grips the front of my shirt. Time stands still, our bodies drawn together like magnets dying for contact. I feel like a guitar string about to break, the tension so taut in my body that I have to remind myself to relax, slow down…we have all night.

I pull back just enough to see her face, my chest heaving. She watches me, waiting, her eyes lust-drunk. I slide my hands to the straps of her dress, easing them down over her shoulders.

“You still want this?” I ask. “I won’t hold you to anything beyond this night, if tonight is all you want. At any point, we can put our focus completely on Sam and the marriage being about that, if that’s—” my voice trails off.
She nods. “I want this. I want you. Now.”

Relief floods through me.

“Get on the bed,” I say, my voice hoarse with craving her. “Let me make you feel good.”

Take This Heart Excerpt

“You don’t talk about your life in Minneapolis much. Why is that?” I ask.
He glances at me and his eyes narrow. “Hmm. You’re right. I think...maybe because your life seems so much more interesting.”
I laugh. “Are you serious right now?”
“Yeah. I mean, there is nonstop entertainment with your family. Your brothers are hilarious. You have a dog named Kevin...” He lifts his hand like what more is there?
I smile. “I never expected the great Milo Lombardi to say something like that. Your life is so exciting. You’ve won awards, you’ve worked all over the world...you speak and people listen.”
He clears his throat. “I didn’t know how much I needed a break. I might be working in Windy Harbor, but it doesn’t feel like it. When I’m there...I feel different. Life is simpler and I like it. More than I thought I would. It’s like a different world. One I’m still taking in. I mean, Bosco could be a char- acter study all on his own, and that’s just one person.”
That cracks me up. “Who else entertains you in Windy Harbor?”
“Besides your family? Juju and Erin are high up there.” He laughs. “Miss Idella at The Rusty Trunk is also an inter- esting one. Did you know she has Earl Grey and a blueberry muffin every morning at exactly 6:10 on the dot? Fascinating.”
I snort. “You are even weirder than I thought.”
“I’m surprised you’re just now realizing that.” His eyes are still smiling when he looks over and he seems shy as he clears his throat. “I...thought maybe we could meet up with my friends Evan and Sara tomorrow. We don’t have to if
you’re anxious to get back, but they’re great and want to meet you.”
“You’ve told your friends about me?”
“Yeah?” he says it like it’s a given.
“I’d really like to meet them.”
