Down and Out Teaser

I have a treat for you guys today: a snippet of the book I've been working on. I'm LOVING this book, and hopefully you guys will too. I don't have a proper synopsis written yet, but you can get a gist of the book here.

I leaned my hip against the counter as Declan strode over to me, pinning me in place with the heated but playful look on his face. He boxed me in with his arms again, resting his hands on the countertop next to me as he leaned down.

“I’m not gonna lie, Savannah, I want this. A lot. But if we do this…I need to be the only one.” 

I hadn’t thought that far ahead, and to be honest, I was a little out of my depth. An ongoing sexual relationship was not something I’d ever experienced. I was the queen of one-night-stands and drunken mistakes, so monogamy hadn’t really crossed my mind. Now that it had, I was kind of freaking out. 

Any way you sliced it, monogamy equaled a relationship. 

My brows pulled together as I stared at his black and white skull t-shirt. I knew it was some kind of band logo, but I couldn’t place it. Looking over, my eyes roamed up the cage of skin and ink surrounding me. I wanted to run my fingers over every inch of his tattoos, until I memorized every curve, color, and letter. “And if I say no? Are you gonna be able to walk away?” 

“Probably not.” His mouth curled up in a crooked grin. “You don’t want to make that promise now, well that’s fine, but just you wait and see.” 

He leaned in, leisurely brushing his nose along my jaw before kissing the sensitive area of skin just under my ear. My breath died in my throat as my eyes slid closed, fireworks erupting behind my tightly squeezed lids. It took every available neuron in my brain that hadn’t exploded into orgasmic death to remain still, when all I wanted to do was lean into him and rub my cheek against his like I was some cat in heat. 

That resolve weakened when his tongue flicked out, teasing my earlobe before his hot mouth enveloped it, sending tingles to all the right places and making my knees go weak. His teeth nipped at my ear as his stubble grazed my cheek, and I squeezed my eyes shut tighter, imagining that wicked tongue and rough stubble between my thighs as I rode that pretty face of his. 

His voice was low and his breath was hot on my skin as he murmured, “I am gonna fuck you so good, so thorough, that you’re never gonna let anyone else inside you. You know why?” 

Quivering, I somehow managed to shake my head no. 

His lips brushed the shell of my ear. “ ’Cause no one will ever be able to make you come as hard as I can.” He placed the softest kiss on my jaw and pulled back, his eyes a darker green as they burned into mine. Reaching up, he brushed a lock of hair away from my face and simply said, “I will ruin you.” 

It wasn’t a threat, it was a delicious promise that had me clenching in anticipation, and I had no doubt that he would, in every sense of the word, ruin me.

*   *   *So what do you guys think? Isn't Declan just yummy? I can't wait for everyone to properly meet him :)

Fallen, book 2 of The Hidden Trilogy, is now available here. And don't forget, book one is still on sale for $0.99, but only for a limited time! I hope you guys enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it :)

Some Updates...

In celebration of the upcoming release of book two in The Hidden Trilogy, book one is on sale for .99 cents and even got a face lift:


I've gotten asked several times when book two will be released, and all I can say is sometime in late July. It's titled Fallen, and I'm thisclose to being finished with it, then it's got to make the rounds at my beta readers before undergoing a final round of editing. I'll post the final release date when I finish writing it, which will hopefully be in about a week or so. 
Oh, and make sure to sign up for my New Release Alerts, which will send you an email on the day I release a new book. It's a neat little way to stay in the loop for those who like my books, but don't necessarily visit my website all that much.
And I'm super excited to tell you guys about a new book I'm working on! It's a new adult/contemporary romance that's completely unrelated to the Hidden Trilogy. It's about a jaded, down-on-her-luck girl that's never known love, and the tatted-up boxer who shows her what it is. It's called Down and Out, and will be released sometime in the fall of '13. The cover's finished and I'm so stoked for you guys to see it! It's effing amazeballs. But, it'll have to wait until the cover reveal tour a few weeks before its release :( It's worth the wait, though, I promise!

Book 2 Teaser

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, but I've got a really good reason for it, and her name is Zoë Madison.

I'm hard at work on book 2 of The Hidden Trilogy, and even though I didn't finish it by mid-April like I would have liked, I still wanted to share a little something from it. So, here's a teaser for those patiently awaiting its release:

Cold wind whipped against my face as I pumped my legs. Racing through the forest at an unnatural speed, my surroundings remained perfectly clear. They didn’t blur, didn’t whiz past me. I saw every tree trunk, every branch, as if I were standing still.

My heart thumped evenly as my breath left me in unhurried puffs. There was no sweating, no aching legs.

I could run forever.

“Is that all you’ve got?”

I glanced at Thomas, who’d been keeping pace with me the whole time, and rolled my eyes. “Please.”

He grinned before pulling ahead, running several feet past me. Something shifted in me as I watched him get away. My heart spiked as this compulsion came over me, making me run faster. I wanted to catch him.

My feet were so quick I practically flew. I dodged trees and leapt over logs without a second thought, pushing myself to go faster, faster. He was just within my grasp when I launched myself, knocking him down to the ground as we tumbled in a limb-entangled mess.  

We rolled to a stop with me atop him, both of us panting and wide-eyed. His heart beat wildly, the deep bass thudding underneath my fingers and pounding in my ears until it was the only sound I heard. My eyes dropped from his dirt-smeared face to the pulse point on his neck. 

It called to me: Em-il-y. Em-il-y. 

His scent flooded me, my stomach clenching as my mouth went dry. 

It was then that I noticed it: Thomas didn’t smell right. The hint of Irish Spring was there, but the cupcake scent was off. It didn’t smell like vanilla, it smelled more…lemony. Citrusy. 

The distraction helped me get it together, and I gave him a shaky smile as I stood. “Told you I could keep up.”

I didn’t wait for his response–didn’t even wait for him to get up–I simply turned and ran.
