Why are tattoos and their wearers so hot? An interview with Anna Sky, editor of Inked: Sexy Tales of Tattoo Erotica
Before I even though about getting my first tattoo, I was intrigued by them. Not every tattoo, necessarily, but certain ink that spoke to me, that called to me, that begged to be stared at. I’m a nosy person (I’m a journalist and writer, after all), so of course the tattoos that draw me in make me want to ask questions (no, not did it hurt?), ones like What made you get that? Why that location? What does it signify?
That alone is enough to be sexy to me, and tattoos’ sex appeal has clearly swept the romance world, because there’s lists on Goodreads of the Best MF Romance Novels about Tattoo Artists and tattooed heroes aplenty.
In my genre of erotica, I assumed that after I knew what it was like to feel the sting of a tattoo needle, to sit without squirming, to focus so intently on my body for those precious, intimate minutes, plots for sexy stories would simply come to me as if injected along with the new color adorning my body. But writing is tricky like that; it doesn’t arrive fully arranged on a platter there for our minds to simply toss on a garnish and serve. So while I’ve flirted with tattoo erotica of the years, I’ve yet to complete my own.

Inked: Sexy Tales of Tattoo Erotica published by Sexy Little Pages
That’s why I was so intrigued to see that sex positive publisher Sexy Little Pages had put out Inked: Sexy Tales of Tattoo Erotica. Having read the anthology, I can assure you that the stories more than live up to the promise of that hot title. There are tales of tattoo artists plying their trade, those who sport the ink and those who are irresistibly intrigued by it. Each story is intriguing and honors the art of the tattoo without fetishizing the ink; the stories are centered around the tattoo wearers and creators and all the emotions that arise for them. I was particularly smitten with “Uncovering Heather” by Victoria Blisse, in which a woman is greeted during her morning work commute by a lewd, tattooed stranger she should ignore but of course, in his own irresistible way, he gets under her skin and shows her a side of herself no one ever has. “Scissoring” by Annabeth Leong is a fun lesbian erotica story premised around the title sex act, where a tattoo plays a very important role in the protagonists’ meet cute.
Last month I promised I’d get into why tattoos are sexy, and to do so, I got an expert’s opinion. I decided to ask Sexy Little Pages founder and editor Anna Sky, who’s also an author in her own right, about the inspiration behind the book, and, most of all, what makes tattoos so sexy.
Why did you decide to publish Inked?
Inked was the first anthology for Sexy Little Pages and I had no idea what to expect in terms of how many writers would submit stories and what those stories could be. I settled on tattoos as a topic as I thought it could have so much scope; as the blurb says, tattoos are intimate and personal. From there, stories could be sweet and romantic or transgressive as hell. Couple that thought with the different attitudes towards ink, from my mother telling me I’d regret mine to people using their bodies as a canvas. From people showing they’re part of a social setting or distancing themselves from a particular group, to those seeking cosmetic touch-ups or post-surgical art.
What surprised you about the submissions you received for Inked?
I was so excited and curious as to what people came up with and I wasn’t disappointed. My biggest issue was choosing which stories to include and which didn’t fit in with the overall feel of the anthology. I had to turn one or two great stories down. I really loved that the writers took my theme and created so many different stories from them. There’s a huge amount of diversity in the nine stories, from magic and sci-fi to contemporary romance, serious themes and laugh-out-loud moments but overall, just damn good writing.
Do you think the public perception of tattoos has changed over the last 20 years Are they considered more sexy than they were in the past?
I think the internet has made tattoos more socially acceptable in some ways. And I think that increased access to images and ideas has helped people to really express themselves individually and find out who they are through that expression. People who are passionate about their ink and wear it well turn themselves into pieces of living art and I love that.
Why do you think tattoos are sexy?
I love how multi-layered tattoos are—they all tell a story, turn our skin into an artist’s canvas and are a snapshot of a particular time and place. My best friend recently had the most gorgeous tattoo and it says so much about her, and her artist. You can see it was chosen and designed with love and inked-on with so much attention to detail. And it truly is beautiful. Her body has turned an image into something so much more and that to me, is what tattoos should be.

Humanitarian Hotties
Even before the early morning Sunday horror of the nightclub shooting in Orlando, I had been grappling with a sense of dejection over the daily persistance of bad news. There’s so darn much of it. Seems like every time I click on a news website it’s more of the same: terrorism, murder, animal slaughter, wars, etc., etc., etc. A friend of mine refuses to watch, read, or listen to the news because, as he says, “it’s all bad anyway.” But I don’t want to go down that depressing path because it’s NOT all depressing. There are plenty of people doing plenty of good and those are the ones to focus on and feel inspired. And in appropriate LadySmut fashion, why not focus on the do-gooders who are also look-gooders. Why not indeed! So I picked three of them, three hot guys who are even hotter because of the cool things they’re doing for the world.
Nir Kalron. Former Israel commando, conservation security expert, protector of elephants, all-around bad ass. Nir founded a security and counter-trafficking firm, Maisha Consulting, that specializes in providing intelligence, surveillance, military and conflict resolution training to countries struggling to get a handle in the war on conservation. And his services are desperately needed. Between 2010 and 2012, 100,000 elephants were slaughtered by zealous ivory poachers in Africa. The poor countries where the elephants roam lack the expertise and training to fight the poachers. That’s where Nir comes in. He and his experts are teachers, translators, providers of intelligence. As he says in a recent Smithsonian article, “If poaching doesn’t get you angry, you’re not made for the mission.” His work has resulted in areas of decimated elephant populations beginning a slow recovery.
James Nachtwey. Among the most decorated war photographers of his time, Nachtwey has been showing the world the horrors of war since 1976. His work has garnered him numerous awards, including fives times the prestigious Robert Capa Gold Medal for “best published photographic reporting.” If there’s an area of horrific turbulence in the world, Nachtwey and his camera are there capturing images of it. He’s been around the world to places such as Afghanistan, Bosnia, Romania, South Africa, Rwanda, just to name a few. His courage and pictures let us see stark images of war so that we may understand. As Nachtwey states on his website, “I have been a witness and these pictures are my testimony. The events I have recorded should not be forgotten and must not be repeated.” Now in his late ’60s, Nachtwey’s still got it going on.
Dr. Chris Brasher. For nine years the ruggedly handsome Australian surgeon and anesthesiologist practiced his medicine in some of the harshest conditions in the world as a physician with Doctors Without Borders. His work took him to countries all over Africa, including Burundi, Congo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. He’s worked where there are civil wars and hopelessly ill people, yet he doesn’t give up hope. Instead he just continues to do his best with what he has, even if it means having to drill into a patient’s head to save him without having the proper equipment to do so. He currently practices at the Royal Children’s Hospital back in his native Australia.
What do you think? Anyone you’d add to the list? Feel free to give your humanitarian hottie a shout out in the comments below, where we can all feel good about these do-gooders.

Embracing the Dark: An Interview with Tabitha Black

If you like kinky stories with military heroes, click to preorder. Like right now.
By Alexa Day
So here’s the big news I wanted to share with you last week: I’m really excited and honored to formally announce that I’m one of 22 authors contributing to a box set called Hero to Obey. The collection, which releases June 28, features military heroes and more kink than you can shake a flogger at, and Lady Smut guests Sierra Cartwright and Lee Savino are also participating. The best thing about working with so many wonderful authors? Each of them brings a distinct flavor to the many varieties of kink and the military men who like it naughty. (If you’re down with spanking, you will definitely want a big piece of this box set, by the way.)
As the set was coming together, I got a peek at Tabitha Black’s story, “Understanding the Enemy,” which sets a dark erotic romance against a futuristic, dystopian backdrop. The heroine, Lena, is a resistance fighter captured by the enemy and interrogated by Blaze, who has plenty of ways to get what he wants out of her. It’s a powerful, sexual tale with compelling characters and an intriguing setting, and it delivers plenty of darkly erotic goodness for eager readers.
I have a thing for dark stories. My imagination is drawn to something about them — the danger that calls to the heroine, the hero’s depraved desires, all those delicious secrets. Not long ago, I shared an abduction fantasy involving Tom Hiddleston, Mark Strong, Jason Statham, and the Jaguar F Coupe. So I knew I’d be down with the darkness! Still, I was curious about what draws so many readers to this growing subgenre of romance — and what might be keeping them away. Tabitha indulged all my questions, and I’m so excited to share our conversation with you today!
But first, I have to hit you with an excerpt. That’s what friends do. Before you start reading — the bullet is a vibrator.
Lena was ready to scream. She’d been mentally prepared for anything—anything but this constant, torturous state of aching arousal and blatant humiliation.
She was also bitterly regretting having asked to have her blindfold removed. She’d hoped that the sight of her tormentor would help; that seeing the gargoyle who held her very life in his hands might go some way towards tempering the helpless lust he was inducing purely by the tone in his voice.
She couldn’t have been more wrong.
The man—Blaze—was attractive. No, more than that, he was gorgeous. At first she’d been unaccustomed to the light and had been able to make out nothing more than his silhouette; a broad-shouldered man in a dark green militia uniform… but then, like a Polaroid developing, she was able to take in more and more detail.
The perfect shape of his closely shaved head.
The thick, dark brows, one of which was bisected by a neat scar, the classic but slightly broken Greek nose, the wide, mocking mouth. The glittering onyx eyes.
And then, when he’d grinned, a dimple in his left cheek.
What the fuck kind of torturer has a dimple?
Lena’s breath had caught in her throat and she’d almost asked him to put the blindfold back on when she realized that this man had seen, examined and watched every last inch of her—and, worse, that she was still lying naked and spread-eagled on a table in front of him as he looked down at her with an odd expression in his eyes.
Greg had never warned her about that eventuality.
And now she was still on that fucking table and Blaze was still watching her—albeit from the next room. Not that that made much of a difference; it was almost as though she could sense his presence. She could certainly feel every single excruciating tingle that bullet deep inside her pussy was shooting through her core. Every time she came close to calling out, to begging him to stop, it shut off… only to resume its infernal humming again a short while later.
He wasn’t really going to do this all night, was he?
LS: Capture, interrogation, sexual torture … that’s absolutely my cup of tea. But do you find that readers are conflicted about dark erotica? Are people uncomfortable about wanting to read it and wanting to love it?
TB: I think there are readers in any genre who are uncomfortable about wanting to read about – or write about – it, be it spanking, gay/lesbian, ageplay – or even ‘straightforward’ erotica, so there are undoubtedly those who feel conflicted about darker, edgier stuff, perhaps more so than other genres.
I think the reasons why are different, though. Women are taught from childhood that a man raising his hand to a woman is wrong, that letting a man ‘be the boss’ is wrong, that any time a man exerts his physical dominance over her, it’s wrong, abusive and so on. And of course, if that ever happens in real life without consent, it is undoubtedly so. But for many women – like me – there is freedom in submission. There is something inherently sexy about having no control whatsoever. And there are many women who are turned on when they’re afraid. There seems to be some kind of link between fear and arousal, as well as similar physiological responses.
However, if you’re a woman who admits to reading and enjoying dark, capture erotica, you fear being judged by those who don’t seem able to distinguish between fiction and real life, between fantasy and reality. People assume that just because you enjoy the stories, you condone that sort of behaviour in real life. And it’s unfair, because erotica is the only genre in which that happens. No-one who reads James Patterson or Thomas Harris is told they must think killing people is okay if they enjoy ‘those kinds of books’, so why apply that logic to this genre?
LS: What draws dark erotica readers to the genre, and deeper into it?
TB: I’m sure it depends on the reader – and on the story. Personally, I can say that there are two main elements which appeal to me: the lack of control and freedom in submission I mentioned before, and then there’s the suspense/horror element which fascinates me.
There are many, many erotica genres but most of them are happy, loving, consensual, and often almost toothache-inducingly sweet. But life isn’t sweet. And there can sometimes be a lack of tension in ‘boy meets girl, they both fall in love and live happily ever after’ stories, even if they are erotic. One thing you’re guaranteed in well written dark erotica is tension; internal – and often external – conflict. Not only is the heroine often horrified at what’s happening to her, she’s equally horrified at the fact that her body is responding, that she’s enjoying it. And dark erotica often has more interesting settings; science fiction, fantasy worlds, dystopian—a refreshing alternative to the more traditional erotica settings.
Finally, I think there’s a definite element of pushing boundaries. Readers can get jaded. There are only so many ways to tell a spanking story, or to describe ‘vanilla’ sex. The ‘shock’ value wears off, as does the excitement. Dark erotica is a natural continuation of that… it’s a way for authors to delve deeper and write something new and interesting for them, and it’s something fresh and exciting for readers to pick up when they’re in the mood to be captivated, shocked, or, yes, aroused.
LS: This might be an amateur hour question, but is a happy ending always guaranteed in dark erotica and dark erotic romance?
TB: There’s nothing ‘amateur hour’ about that question! It’s tricky. Romance publishers often won’t accept manuscripts unless there’s a ‘happy ever after’ or at least a ‘happy for now’ ending. Romance readers are used to it. There are also still absolute no-nos, as well, even though these things happen too often in real life; cheating is a prime example. The hero can do anything he wants to the heroine sexually or physically, but the minute his focus wanders to another woman, there’s outrage on the part of the reader.
I guess I’m trying to say that no matter what genre, including dark, there are set rules. And authors know that if they break or even bend those rules, they risk negatively impacting not only their book sales, but also their reputation with fans. Whether or not they want to do that, including denying readers that longed-for HEA, is ultimately up to them, but I think most of them are too scared to try. And for good reason: no-one wants to disappoint the readers.
LS: Have you ever gone too dark with a story? Have you surprised a publisher … or yourself?
TB: I’ve absolutely surprised myself but never a publisher – yet. In real life, I’m a masochist as well as a submissive, and my partner is a very sadistic Dominant. He’s introduced me to all manner of play forms which I’ve never seen in books; even in dark erotica. The author in me wants to incorporate all these things into my work, but I do fear many of them would be considered ‘too dark’ for the readers. (Not to mention my publisher!)
Having said that, I do have one or two things in progress where I am starting to push the envelope – just a little bit – and depending on how those are received, I may then decide to take it further. ‘Understanding The Enemy’ was one such experiment, and I’ll be very interested to see the reviews.
LS: What inspired the dystopian setting of “Understanding the Enemy”?
TB: I was actually born in Germany, and even though the Berlin wall fell almost 27 years ago, the after-effects are still very much in evidence. I was nine years old when the wall was torn down, and my mother was watching it on television and crying. I didn’t understand what it was all about; and when she told me how there was this wall, and how people on one side had to live under such tyranny and poverty, whereas on the other side life was far, far better, but if anyone tried to get across it, they risked being killed, it had a deep and profound impact on me. When I was looking for a setting for what I knew would be an interrogation story, it seemed like a good starting point. What if, in the future, after a catastrophic event, mankind had to ‘resettle’ and something like that happened again? The story just progressed from there.
LS: What makes the military hero a good fit for dark stories?
TB: Aside from the fact that a creative author can put a dark twist on almost any theme, I think military men are a great fit because there are a lot of parallels between a good Dominant and a good military man: a commanding presence, rigid self-discipline, analytical thinking, physical strength and fitness, loyalty, a protective streak and so on. You combine that with the fact that no simpering, weak coward ever wants to join the military, and you have a recipe for a sexy hero.
I also think that things are done in wartime… there are scenarios like capture, invasion, interrogation and so on… which lend themselves wonderfully to the external conflict and tension necessary for a dark, edgy story.
There’s this sense that military men/women are tough and have seen/done it all; they’re not likely to faint at the first sight of blood, and there’s an element of danger involved, as well.
If I may, I’ll give you a little example: which is more likely to get your heart racing and your panties wet; being pushed against the wall and ‘manhandled’ by a reedy college student, or by a man who’s been to war, has done things you can barely imagine, who has muscles bulging out of his shirt and whose hands on your body can either bring you to extremes of pleasure or extremes of pain?
I know which I’d choose – not that I have anything against college students.
LS: “Understanding the Enemy” is a great story for people wanting to explore their feelings about darker stories; Lena and Blaze are fantastic, relatable characters whose lives and surroundings have given them a bit of a dark side. What other stories and authors would you recommend for readers wanting to dip their fingers into these shadowy worlds?
TB: Aw, thank you for the compliment! There are actually a few authors currently taking the dark genre by storm, and I can highly recommend all of them. These include Jennifer Bene, Sophie Kisker, some of Alta Hensley’s works, and Addison Cain’s Alpha’s Claim series is currently soaring up the Amazon charts. Deservedly so; she writes wonderful, conflicted and relatable characters in a truly dark and evil world – and she pushes the reader’s boundaries, which I very much admire.

Dark Romance. Irish Mob. A Look at The O’Malleys by Katee Robert
by Kiersten Hallie Krum
I won’t lie, I hear “Irish Boston Mob series” and I’m in, no questions asked, despite my love/hate relationship with Boston. So soon as I heard Katee Robert’s new series, “The O’Malleys,” was about three Boston Irish mob families, I requested that sucker so fast, NetGalley spun on its axis for about an hour.
The O’Malleys, the Sheridans, and the Hallorans of The Marriage Contract and The Wedding Pact are the unholy trifecta of the Irish mob in Boston. An alliance between two of these families is about to be formed when one of the younger generation kills another. Suddenly, allegiances must shift before more blood is spilled…and the war that has been brimming between these three factions for so long boils over.

Look, a blurb!
Teague O’Malley hates pretty much everything associated with his family’s name. And when his father orders him to marry Callista Sheridan to create a “business” alliance, Teague’s ready to tell his dad exactly where he can stuff his millions. But then Teague actually meets his new fiancée, sees the bruises on her neck and the fight still left in her big blue eyes, and vows he will do everything in his power to protect her.
Everyone knows the O’Malleys have a dangerous reputation. But Callie wasn’t aware just what that meant until she saw Teague, the embodiment of lethal grace and coiled power. His slightest touch sizzles through her. But the closer they get, the more trouble they’re in. Because Callie’s keeping a dark secret-and what Teague doesn’t know could get him killed.
Look, another blurb!

Carrigan O’Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestige than passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she’s ruined for anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.
Hallorans vs. O’Malleys-that’s how it’s always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family’s empire instead of how silky Carrigan’s skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he’ll be if he can’t get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.
When I first read The Marriage Contract, I immediately tweeted Katee Roberts and demanded to know when The Wedding Pact would be available and then raged that I had to wait nine months to get it. Yes, this series is that good. I re-read them both for this review only to be reminded of the intriguing and edgy concept they embody. And just look at those covers. Boy. Howdy.
The O’Malleys, the Sheridans, and the Hallorans are not good people by the standard terms. These are people trying to make good decisions in bad situations–seriously bad situations. These are people constrained by the rigid natures of their families’ demands and expectations and torn by a familial loyalty that often has little to do with love and too much to do with duty. These are people who sometimes are forced to do unthinkable things, things that make them wonder about the states of their own souls, and yet who love fiercely, be it their parents, siblings, or lovers, and, often, blindly. These are people for whom doing what makes them happy and doing what is in their family’s best interests may be diametrically opposed–and fraught with danger. The stakes are high in The O’Malleys series, as high as can be imagined.
These are not safe people–not to themselves, not to others, and not in the general sense of “being safe”. Their lives are in jeopardy so that every decision they make could be ones that bear serious life and death consequences either for them or those they love–or for those with whom they are falling in love. And Things Happen. But they want to do better, they long to deserve better, and they find that better in the ones who come to love them.
They are loyal. They are fierce. They are determined. They feel conflicted about many things and navigate a treacherous world most people don’t even know exists. They feel deep and they risk much. They are striving, each of them, to carve a life they can live with out of the ones they’ve been born into and they are falling in love along the way–with the most inconvenient and inappropriate of people.

The Marriage Contract and The Wedding Pact are available to buy now, while the third and final title in the series, An Indecent Proposal, will be available on August 30th (and is currently up for preorder). It brings the Russian mob in to treacherously tangle with the Irish families–and has what I think is the best cover of them all. The scruff. That nose. The furrowed brow. The opened collar under the vest. The wide leather bracelet. The tattoo peeking out from under the rolled-up sleeve. The striped pants. The arm porn. Irish bad boy trouble in a suit. Liiiiiiick.
What, did you think I’d leave you without a blurb? Perish the thought!
Greed. Ambition. Violence. Those are the “values” Olivia Rashidi learned from her Russian mob family-and the values she must leave behind for the sake of her daughter. When she meets Cillian O’Malley, she recognizes the red flag of his family name . . . yet she still can’t stop herself from seeing the smoldering, tortured man. To save her family, Olivia sets out to discover Cillian’s own secrets, but the real revelation is how fast-and how hard-she’s falling for him.
Plagued by a violent past, Cillian is more vulnerable than anyone realizes. Anyone except Olivia, whose beauty, compassion, and pride have him at “hello,” even if she’s more inclined to say good-bye to an O’Malley. While his proposal of sex with no strings seems simple, what he feels for her isn’t, especially after he learns that she belongs to a rival crime family. Cillian knows that there is no escape from the life, but Olivia may be worth trying–and dying–for . . .
The O’Malleys series are as if The Godfather was populated by the Fitzpatricks (that’s a Veronica Mars reference for all of you playing along at home) with a dollop of The Town and a soupçon of Mystic River–and a whole lotta sexy romance. They’re dark, sexy stories about dodgy folks who embark on daring and sensuous journeys that pack an emotional wallop. Clear your calendar to dive down the rabbit hole and don’t be surprised if you come out more than a little green.

Servant of the Undead, erotic zombie horror free read part 5
Isabelle Drake’s Servant of the Undead
If you’re new to this serial, you can start with Part 1, “Do it.”
Part 5: “Don’t make me wait.”
“Absolutely.” Bob chuckled, then lowered his voice. “That sex video was hot, Hayden, but a bit over the top. Even for us. So Chuck cut it into stills, and our hit counter is already popping.”
Sex video?
“Popping?” Hayden said, starting to sweat. He grabbed his laptop and typed in the newspaper’s link. The home page was filled with a woman’s dark silhouette, the pale skin of one of her big breasts peeking between the red wraps, the other was blacked out with a solid square. Her wet, matted hair was tangled around her shoulders, her eyes were unmistakably glowing green, and the man positioned between her legs was obviously him.
A neon blue banner ran through the middle of the page: Zombie sex ritual uncovered! Everyday men seduced by the undead!
“A bonus check is already in your mail box, Hayden. You really came through for me, kid. Thanks.”
“Sure thing.” Hayden clicked off, but didn’t set his phone down. Even though they’d only been together a short while, Rachelle should hear about the pictures from him.
He hit her number and settled back to wait, but she answered right away.
“What the hell, Hayden?”
“You already know, huh,” he replied, hitting the link to move away from the home page.
“Yes. And I am pissed.”
The next page was another shot of him and the girl, her white fingers curled over her own breast while his hand was obviously trapped in the red straps. “How did you find out?”
“Bob.”
“Bob?” Thanks Bob, for adding to my list of failed relationships.
“Yeah, he wanted to make sure it was okay with me before he put the pictures up.”
Hayden scrolled down, the next picture showed Mattie’s thigh, half-covered by the tattered fishnets, tightly wrapped around his hips. The tiny skirt covered up his cock, thrusting in and out of her. “And it’s okay with you?” he said, his voice nearly squeaking.
“Yes. But I’m still pissed.”
He scrolled down again. It was shot of Mattie’s face, her smudgy, glowing eyes staring straight at the screen. A chill ran down his spine. Straight to his dick, which was getting hard again. “It’s just that, I—”
“I’ve been after you to do something crazy and you had this kinky side all along. I’m pissed you kept it a secret.” She sighed, impatient and annoyed. “Why Hayden? Don’t you get that I like you for who you are, not because I’m waiting around for you to make stacks of money.”
Hayden X’d out of the website. “Oh.”
“I’m coming over to your apartment, tonight. I’ll be wearing—oh no, I’m not telling. It’s going to be a surprise. A hot, sexy surprise. And you better be ready to fuck me senseless. That’s the only the way I’m going to forgive you for keeping secrets.”
Another turn in a night that didn’t make sense. But Hayden was done being cautious and careful. He scrambled to his feet and adjusted his khakis, but there was no hiding his solid erection. He stashed his laptop into his backpack and started walking, leaving the zombie books on the table.
“Don’t make me wait,” she snapped then clicked off.
Hayden burst out of the library and charged face-first into the storm. A nasty blast of wind whipped past, filling his nose with giant flakes and blinding him. He slipped on his gloves to wipe his eyes and then hitched up his backpack and tightened the front strap. After wrapping his itchy black wool scarf tightly around his neck, Hayden took the first careful step. Thick, wet snow sagged until his boot finally hit the concrete. Three slow, leaping strides later, he reached the landing of the low steps that led to Dartmouth Street, snow covered and silent. Not a single living person was out on the streets.
Once he got back to his borrowed apartment, he planned to stay put and wait the storm out too. Apparently, he was going to be at Rachelle’s mercy the whole time. At first, he’d been anxious about hooking up with a neighbor, but now he was really beginning to see the advantage to having her in the brownstone right next door. A hot flush washed over him, chasing away a sliver of the monstrous chill following him down the hushed street. He kept moving, closer to Rachelle and farther away from that unbelievable scene. Sex, video, and a lie more believable than the truth.
The drifts of dense, untouched snow made walking difficult, and the cold air was beginning to pierce his lungs, making each breath a whisper of pain, but he moved on, slowly, steadily—determined and clinging to Rachelle’s demand. Blow and pop, the balloon fetish 101
Isabelle Drake’s Fetish 101
Imagine you’re doing an internet search for balloons for a seven-year old’s birthday party. You type in best balloons for fun and find a shopping site called Balloon Party. Sounds good, so you click on the link. Up pops a picture of two women in bikinis. One is holding a medium size pink balloon between her breasts, the other, facing away from you, is seated on a huge clear balloon, looking back over her shoulder. Yes, you can see her flattened ass through the latex. Both women look like they are having the time of their lives. Instinctively you know, this isn’t quite the site you were looking for.
Nope, balloons aren’t just for kids. Yep, you’ve stumbled into and adult store. In this case, one that caters to balloon fetishists.
A person with a balloon fetish may be turned on by balloons being blown up, sat on, “played” with, or popped. Theories of sexual imprinting suggest that an early childhood experience, typically before age 14, sparks a person’s sexual interest which may later lead to the formation of kinks and fetishes. So, like other fetishes, the beginnings of this sexual interest are believed to form as the result of a childhood experience. One interesting difference with the balloon fetish is that an early childhood fear, in this case the sharp pop of a balloon exploding, may be the source of the fetish.
Characteristics of balloons that may be the source of the initial attraction are the bright colors and sense of fun–as they are often present at parties or other celebrations. The sensory qualities of the balloon are also intriguing: smooth texture and distinctive scent. Most notable though, the balloon’s almost magical ability to change from something very small to something very large.
Balloon fetishists can be divided into three groups:
Non-poppers do not enjoy seeing or hearing balloons popped. These are the people who are most likely to have had a phobia of balloons.
Poppers love to see and hear balloons being popped and may also enjoy seeing the balloons being torturing or tested. These enthusiasts may even orgasm at the sight and sound of balloons popping.
Semi-poppers like to experiment with the limits of balloons and may in the transitioning non-popper to popper.
Like other fetishes, once you know about the existence of it you’ll start seeing it in popular culture. In the cult favorite film, The Girl From Starship Venus, the alien girl meets a fellow with a balloon fetish. The controversial horror film The Poughkeepsie Tapes also features a character with a balloon fetish.
This ‘n that about balloon fetishists:
Key search words for the internet: balloon fetish, looner, popper, and buster.
Typical looners are typically 25-25.
A variation is the Bubblegum Balloon Fetish where the fetishist is turned on by watching another person blow up balloons or bubbles with bubblegum. This can be done as foreplay, blowing the bubblegum bubbles up against another’s body for example.
Looners do not find children with balloons sexually intriguing and may be appalled by pictures of children with balloons.
Looners enjoy balloons externally.
It is mostly an interest for men. Some accounts rate the difference as 1 to 30 another 1 in 100.
Related fetishes are body inflation, latex and PVC wear, and infantilism.
Discovery Channel’s Forbidden: The Balloon Fetish offers a great overview.
Does all this make you wonder what pretty girls playing with balloons looks like? Try Beauty girls balloons games. Another one, Balloon girls, is five and a half minutes of two sexy girls rubbing balloons on themselves while they perch on a bed. I hope they were well paid for the filming because this looks to be perhaps the five most boring minutes of their life.
Curious about what attraction to inflatables looks like in real life? Try watching I Love My Inflatable Animals | My Strange Addiction.
So, next time you’re at the party supply store and see and 27 year old guy buying six bags of balloons…maybe you want to ask him what he’s up to? Or, maybe not.
Here at Lady Smut we know you want to be informed, entertained, and kept up to date. So follow us, and ‘cause we’re here to make sure you’re satisfied.

Heartless: Soul Sucking Sex Moppets

Two hot twins trying to solve one four hundred year old curse.
by Madeline Iva
Heartless, a dark Y.A. TV show from the Netherlands & Netflix, makes all my guilty-pleasure bells ring.
It’s got everything you’d want from a twisted dark Y.A.: from a paranormal premise to all the pretty people at a rich, decadent, ancient boarding school. It starts off with two hot orphan twins — a boy and a girl — tormented over the fact that they’re awful and they’re going to get caught and arrested at some point as they crawl about the city, soul sucking energy from the disco populace at large. The boy, Sebastian, can’t control his impulses and kills people by sucking too much from them their bodies until they ignite and burn.

Do we like shows about black-eyed, soul-sucking succubus twins? — hell yeah!
So it’s the girl, Sophie, who has to go out and git some for the family. The actress, Julie Zangenberg, is so good, even though their backstory is never spelled out in detail, her nuanced acting gives you all the feels of the young girl who’s had to go trolling among the creeps. She’s had to be fondled and felt up until she can get them into her soul sucking grasp. Survival has taken its toll in this nasty world, and there’s a bit of orphan self-pity and hurt in her gasps and cries as her brother sucks what he needs from her. (In a way that is so hot and so wrong, btw. When I said this show is a guilty pleasure I *meant* it.)
They go back to the orphanage they ran away from years ago to find out more about the mother who abandoned them way back. She herself was a teen, they learn, and they gain some clues about her that lead them to–wait for it–Ottmannsgaard–an elite boarding school specializing in double letters. (Just kidding.) In fact, the grounds in the woods surrounding Ottmannsgaard are littered with the decaying bodies of other youths just like Sophie and Sebastian on the hunt for the ‘truth’. If only they knew. Cue the cackling of merciless evil male laughter.
Like a soul-sucker about to expire, I hoovered up the series in a very short time. The show’s characters are for the most part so hot–even the ones who aren’t supposed to be–like Nadja, that I floated along on the waves of beauty and sin.
It was hard for me to determine which if the twins I liked better. Sebastian seemed more the type to blend into a rich surroundings. He had that golden boy thing about him. It was so captivating to watch him fall in love for the first time and realize he couldn’t even kiss the girl he has feelings for–afraid he’ll kill her when his powers go out of control.

Sebastian, tortured soul in a golden-boy body.
Yet Sophie was a real scrapper. Getting into it–again in such a hot-yet-wrong way–with the ‘head boy’ evil Ditlev. (I could make so many jokes about head boys. I won’t though.) The bad guys in this TV show just go for the Hitler-youth thing in a no-holds-barred way. And when the sexy Aryan-youth wants his sad moppet succubus girl–just, wow. (In fact, when one of the bad guys gets it, my friend stopped watching the show–that’s how deep she sank into the show’s glittering perversity.)

Ditlev wants his sad sex moppet succubus.
Then there were the headmaster’s daughters — hot and hotter, and witches too, as it turned out. The older one had an arresting quality, and yeah, looked like she could totally hold her own with whatever witch she might meet down some dark alley, for sure. The younger one had one of those “I’m here, but I don’t get to say much” kind of roles. Which didn’t matter. I mean, she didn’t talk a lot, but she made birds drop dead out of the sky, in this perfect la la la I’m even more powerful than you, and la la la, even hotter than you, but whatever, just hanging out…off-handed way.

Witchy sisters. I like the younger one on the right best.
The core of the story revolves around a curse–a multi-generational curse at that–which has been working out badly for everyone for hundreds of years. But what I liked best about the show was the development of Nadja’s character. She’s Sophie’s good-girl-but-dull roommate. She falls for Sebastian hard, despite/because of Sophie’s warning that he’s heartless when it comes to girls.

That awkward face you make when you had a big orgasm the first time you had sex, but, like, now half your soul has been eaten?
Nadja isn’t really a nerdy girl – however she’s the closest thing this school of hotness had to offer. She’s helplessly crushing hard on Sebastian, and she wakes up to find she’s love’s bitch. Then she just owns it. She’s the underdog, the one flying under the radar—I liked her. Sebastian uses her for some soul-sucking, and hey, she survives it. She’s stronger than she looks. Moreover, she offers to let him do it to her again, to use her, even knowing he doesn’t like her. This develops into a very interesting dynamic. He’s not interested in her–and he doesn’t want to use her either. He’s trying to redeem himself and he doesn’t want to be ‘that guy’ any longer. But Sophie needs some of his energy, and with school curfew …he’s in a jam.

Only in Denmark would fencing be the only sport offered at a boarding school. Well, not *real* fencing…
I just get so caught up in that struggle of what to do when he’s just not that into you but still needs to suck your soul from time to time dynamic. I mean, if there was a season two for this show — I’d want it to explore this dynamic further.

Did I mention the queer relationships?
The ultimate appeal for me was that whole ‘this isn’t really high school, but who cares’ genre of decadent rich, meets the cursed witchy, spooky, I-don’t-give-a-f*ck-cool poor, etc. It just reeks of the most delectable darkness, and I could not get enough.
How about you? Any other dark Y.A. lovers out there? What would you recommend?
And follow us at LadySmut where we love sucking things — T.V. shows about sucking things, that is.
