its been a while, i have taken some time off from the blog...finding my balance, being a mom (loving the time with my kids), but that doesnt mean i havent been busy.

How To Make Paint Skins
HELLO!
It's Stephen Lursen here with another week's video. Today I show you how to pour your very own custom paint skins. Once these paint skins dry they can be glued onto a canvas or panel and then potentially carved back into to reveal layers under layers of color!

How to use the grid method

How To Use Color
Hello everyone!
Stephen Lursen here with a video all about how to use color effectively in a painting. I use 11 contemporary artist's paintings as examples and while you look at their art, I explain a new way of seeing. I hope you enjoy this short video. My hope in making this post is that when you work on your paintings in the future, you have a different way of thinking about how to make your colors pop. A painting that pops demands attention when other paintings would be passed by.
