The Realpolitik of Islamism

Realpolitik Realpolitik: the Battle of Vienna

It is now over twenty years since the fall of the Berlin Wall; for many young people, the Cold War, of which it was the most compelling symbol, is no more than a history lesson. In my desk here I have a small piece of concrete, with paint on, which was recovered from that wall and sold as a tourist trinket. It is perhaps the most telling one I have.

Our children do not, as those of my generation did, live in daily fear of being blown to pieces by atomic bombs ...

Palawan, Philippines, 2012

Crissy at Palawan, Philippines 2012 Crissy at Palawan, Philippines 2012

Palawan is an island in the west of the Mimaropa Admistrative region of the Philippines. The Phils is divided colloquially into three regions, Luzon in the north, Visayas in the centre and Mindanao in the south. Palawan is on the far west of Visayas.

It forms the northern boundary of the Sulu Sea and is only some 70 kilometres from Malaysia at its southern extremity. It is served by two airports, the larg...

Why French Men Watch the News

Ever wonder why French men watch the news? I did a piece a while ago about ‘Why Americans Go To Church’ which was stimulated by some or another piece of typical septic-tank arrogance but was really meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Kinda.

Anyway this is also meant to be a bit of fun.  Did you ever wonder why it is that so many French men seem so very well versed in current affairs, news, and general what’s the buzz? It has nothing to do with the Bac de Philo or anything like that.

This is the REA...

Peggy Reeves Sanday: life in a Modern Matriarchy

Dr Peggy Reeves Sanday is best known for her work amongst a tribal people called the Minangkabau who live in Indonesia. They are also called the Urang Padang  and are the  largest ethnic group on the island of Sumatra, whose traditional homeland is the west-central highlands. While these are notionally Muslim, they actually follow what is locally called an ‘adat’ which is a tribal set of beliefs, permitted under the local form of Islam. There are many of these.

Baklas, sex and motorcycle maintenance

I’m at the local motorcycle repair shop where Sherwyn, a most competent mechanic and pleasant cove, is replacing a brake master cylinder on the Blaze. He first thought to replace only the seals, but he can’t find the right size. A new cylinder is 400 pesos, just under six quid, an unwell encephalopod. I just tell him to get on with it. Sherwyn works in the open space outside a motorcycle parts shop, where he seems to buy most of his stuff, although, as today, sometimes he has to go further afiel...

Poaching the River in English!

Poaching the River coverPoaching the River

Poaching the River is back on the shelves, both physical and virtual, so I have been addressing the next issue.

Poaching the River was written only partly in English, or at least the Scottish version of it, and all the dialogue is in authentic Mearns Doric. That is my native tongue of course, although I didn’t really know it until I was at school.

The book was written as a homage to that culture, but it is a sad fact that there are few of us left who understand Doric, ...

Feminism is a Lie: it’s the Gynocracy again

Feminism has always been a lie. It is a deception perpetrated on women, in order to make them the front-line troops in a Communist Revolution. If you don’t believe me, read Gloria Steinem: ‘the only thing Marx got wrong is that the means ARE the end’.

The sex-doll issue, which was bubbling in the news-feeds as feminists set it up for attack — until COVID-19 stole the show — is illustrative of how they use sex to exercise power over men. No women are harmed in a sexual exchange between a man and ...

Woman: adult of feminine gender

Rui Mariano from the Philippines

Women are adults of feminine gender. I’m exploring the possibilities of using the WordPress app to post shorter items like this one.

Feminism is destroying our daughters’ bodies

The Portman and Tavistock, the UK’s main gender clinic, recently reported a more than 4500% increase in referrals over 8 years. FOUR THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED PER CENT in EIGHT years. The total referrals in the last year accounted for were some 2500, up from 97 eight years ago. Of these latest figures, 1800 were young females. Nearly 2000 were under 18, last year alone. That beats any stats on this, anywhere and to make it even more shocking, whereas the historic prevalence amongst females has alwa...
