Cover Reveal - A Delicious Descent

Today is my reveal day for the multi-author Monsters & Mayhem series, and I am so excited to bring you the cover and blurb of A Delicious Descent. All covers were by Natasha Snow Designs.

As a lifelong fan of horror, I was over the moon to be asked to participate in this collaboration, and when everyone was grabbing up classics, well... what horror collection would be complete without Dracula ‍♂️ with a release date of Halloween (10/31/22).

Pre-order here: mybook.to/mmdracula

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Set in the original time period of 1897, A Delicious Descent is told entirely from the perspective of Jonathan Harker. Some of the story will be familiar to those who know Bram Stoker's novel, but there are many unique twists and turns, and the vampire "brides" are not the classic vixens - though certainly still vexing. Full blurb below.

Only warnings are for typical vampire violence and the mildest of dubious consent, for Dracula wants nothing more than for Jonathan to choose him willingly...

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Dracula retold, with Jonathan as the object of the legendary vampire’s obsession.

Engaged to his dear friend Mina, Jonathan Harker jumps at the chance to delay their wedding by accepting an assignment in far-off Transylvania. Jonathan loves Mina but not in the way a man should love a wife, for his true passion lies with the company of men, an illicit craving he can never indulge.

Upon arriving in Transylvania to help the elusive Count Dracula purchase an estate in London, Jonathan makes some surprising if tantalizing discoveries. It seems his mysterious client has similar proclivities and encourages his male servants to explore their forbidden desires, all the while tempting Jonathan to partake.

Carnal pleasure isn’t the only surprise awaiting him, however, as Dracula’s secrets are far deadlier than Jonathan ever imagined, and as alluring as his new master’s touch.

A Delicious Descent is an MM horror retelling of Dracula, as part of the collaboration Monsters & Mayhem: An MM Horror Collection, adapting some of your favorite classic horror stories with an MM romance twist. Contains MM with sharing, MMM, and brief FF.

GalaxyCon Raleigh 2022 Recap

What an incredible convention, and so much to tell you about.

First, by going to Raleigh, I was able to meet long-time friend and fellow author K.L. Hiers in person after years of knowing each other virtually. We shared a table at the con and were able to celebrate both our birthdays during the trip.

[image error][image error][image error]

Artist Alley is one of my favorite places to be, where artists and writers alike can flourish. I could not believe the support for our books and just how much we sold even on Thursday, which is often quite slow, and Sunday, which is usually even slower. And so many great costumes from con-goers!

[image error][image error][image error][image error][image error][image error][image error]

Friday, K.L. and I dressed up as Androids 17 & 18 from Dragon Ball Z.

[image error][image error]

Saturday, we changed it up to Captain Cold and The Flash, and I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Rosenbaum, the voice of the Wally West version of the Flash, along with many familiar roles.

[image error][image error][image error][image error][image error]

And as a bonus on Saturday, we attended the finale part of the wrestling show put on by Fantasy Super Cosplay Wrestling, featuring my talented friend Darin Corbin as Syndrome.

We dressed down Sunday, exhausted as we were, but took that day to see Brendan Fraser (The Mummy), Andy Robinson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Hellraiser), and the biggest highlight for me was Harvey Guillen (What We Do in the Shadows).

[image error][image error][image error]

We also got to meet fellow authors Morgan Brice and Kassie Keegan (who gave me a little octopus plushie in honor of my merman book).

We ended with a commemorative photo in front of the airport, where we met and then said goodbye (at least for a little while).

Stay tuned to learn about other conventions I might be going to coming up, and I hope to see you in person someday soon. If you’re interested in signed copies of my books, you can check what’s available on my Etsy store.

Cover Reveal - Gardening with a Ghost

Today is my reveal day for the multi-author Haunted Love series, and I am so excited to bring you the cover and blurb of Gardening with a Ghost. Charli Childs did such an awesome job on all our covers!

GIVEAWAY: Don't forget to join the series giveaway, details pinned in my Facebook group, Amanda Meuwissen Books. You have until August 10th. The more groups you're in and forms you fill out, the more your chances grow for winning the grand prize!

THE GRAND PRIZE: $50 Amazon gift card and pre-chosen eBooks from every author in the series. Here is my form.

Pre-Order my book here.

My Blurb:

Peter Thorne has a secret—he can bring the dead back to life.

When Peter’s mother died, she passed him the touch of life and made him promise to use his abilities wisely. Unable to bring her back and afraid of being caught or causing too much imbalance in the world, Peter vowed to use his gift only on plants. After all, with people, sometimes dead is better.

Or that is what Peter thinks until he takes a gardening job at Benes Manor. The mystery of a missing girl, an old gothic home, and the whispers and tempting caresses of a ghost in his room lead him to delve deeper into his powers than ever before. Perhaps he can find the missing girl and the origins of his ghostly visitor, if only he knew who to trust—and who and what to touch.

Gardening with a Ghost is part of the MM paranormal romance collaboration Haunted Love.

Free M/M Romance Audiobook Short on Apple

In honor of Pride, the audiobook for my M/M romance short story Octopi My Heart, narrated by me, is FREE all month long on Apple.

Daren Montgomery is a fisherman in his small hometown off Nova Scotia. His heart is as empty as the waters in winter—until he meets Lilo, a beautiful creature of the ocean depths that Daren never believed could be real. Their courtship may be a fairy tale, but the gentle curl of a tentacle or wet kiss in magically warm waters has him dreaming of summer and a storybook ending.

Get signed copies of some of my books with your choice of bookplate at my Etsy Shop.

Going to conventions and book fairs is one of my favorite things for mingling with fans and getting the chance to sign books, but it's not always possible to meet with everyone. If you've hoped for a signed copy of one of my titles, check it out the store and which ones are available.

And let me know if there are missing titles you'd like to see in the future, and I'll add them as I'm able.

Amanda Meuwissen Now Has Audiobooks

Actually, I have for a long time, but it wasn't until earlier this year that I was able to finally get the last of my rights issues and missing files sorted to upload the final book in my Incubus trilogy, making what's available on Amazon and Audible a now complete set narrated by me.

Because of achieving that milestone, I have also started doing more with short story narration, and I hope to do even more in the months and years to come.

The shorts that are available now are The Tea House, a horror short a did last Halloween, and The Case of the Boy in Blue, a noir MM romance that made several top book lists of 2021 in its eBook form, narrated by Fentriss O. Moore.

Historically, I narrate my own work, but Fentriss is an old friend, and it was serendipity that we reconnected right as I was considering narrating Blue, because it is first person noir - it really needs a male voice.

You can also expect an audiobook version of my modern fairy tale short, Octopi My Heart, to release on 4/4/22, but it is available as an eBook AND is ready for pre-order now.

I am likely going to tackle Silhouette next, a contemporary short that subscribers of my newsletter can get for free in eBook form, and then... who knows what next.

Stay tuned, and don't forget to check out the new organization of my Books page, now including audio.

Book Two in a Series

I think there is something very difficult about writing the second book in a series. You’ve established some things but need to expand on the universe and lore in most cases. Sometimes you may be following different characters with only cameos of past ones. And you need to feel like you’ve somehow bested – or at least maintained – what you accomplished with book one.

I certainly hope I have managed to do that as I continue my current series. I’m insane and right now alternating between two series of very different genres. ^_^

The first, Tales from the Gemstone Kingdoms, is high fantasy/fairy tale.

The second, Moonlight Prophecies, is urban fantasy with shifters and vampires.

Gemstone started last fall with The Prince and the Ice King, and now has book two, Stitches, ready for preorder with an April 19th release.

Moonlight came next last October with By the Red Moonlight, since it is set around Halloween, and now has its book two with a release date of May 24th, Blue Moon Rising.

While you are waiting to see what THAT cover looks like, here is a teaser below.

OR you can join my Facebook Group, where you’ll always be the first to learn about and see everything upcoming, including this full cover.

I don’t recommend writing two series at once – or even alternating like I am – but it is fun to stretch my author wings in multiple genres and write about very different characters and rules to unique universes.

On top of that, I’m participating in TWO author collabs this year around like genres/topics, which you can also learn more about at my Facebook Group, with more to be shared here in the months to come.

Do you have any favorite series, and if so, how much did you enjoy book two?
