How to stop over-committing: Here’s a formula!
If there’s one thing I learned from my month of hell is that I have an commitment problem. As in, I over commit. Because I had absolutely no margin in my schedule then, it took an illness to tip my schedule into crazy zone.
Well, those geniuses at Harvard have discovered something I couldn’t: A mathematical formula to figure out if you’re over-committed:
(External expectations) + (Internal expectations) 24 hours — (Self-care)
Self care are activities you do to take care of yourself: sleepin...

Weekend Inspiration
I hardly ever recommend advertisements, but occasionally, there are some that just make me shed a tear. Malaysia, where I live, is going through a rough patch right now. The powers that be are using the “divide and conquer” strategy that our former colonial masters had used. Yes, there are political powers that are determined to incite racial hatred in a country where different races have lived in harmony for decades.
This video reminds us of what makes us essentially Malaysian. How we could...

Okay, maybe I'm being overdramatic, but things are very blah in Malaysia right now. A thick blanket of choking ash from Indonesia has covered cities like Kuala Lumpur and Subang Jaya (where I live). The sky is literally grey and there is no fresh air at all. In fact, the pollution is at such unhealthy levels that school has been called off to...

Confessions of an extrovert writer
This is a response to Juni's post, Confessions of an Introvert :)
When I was a Creative Writing student at Tabor college, we had a lecture by an Australian writer as part of our education in the world of writing.
We sat and listened intently as she spoke about how difficult it was to be an introvert writer in this extroverted world. There's just so many people pressing around you. Demanding your attention. Poking at you. It's just so hard to get away from all that noise.
I looked around. Eve...

Taboo by Jess Michaels
There’s a time and season for everything, and I guess I’m in the season for romance.
When I picked up Jess Michaels’ Taboo, I wasn’t expecting much. I’ve accepted that most romance novels are formulaic to a painful degree, and I was just looking for a nice diversion.
The story: Cassandra Mannings and Nathan Manning, the Earl of Blackhearth, has a past. And that’s Past, with a capital P. Nathan’s pretty bitter about what happened to their young, innocent romance, while Cassandra just wants to...
