Review: The Tethered God by Barrie Condon
Review: The Tethered God by Barrie Condon

I love everything and anything that's connected to ancient Egypt. I'm obsessed with its rich history. So when I saw the blurb, I was instantly hooked. It didn't disappoint. Apart from Egypt, I'm also fascinated with the concept of reincarnation. This book wraps both in one, so it's a win for me.
In the past, Egyptian Prince Khafre hates his father and happily watches as his body is mummified. In present, Prince Khafre is reincarnated a police dog. I found this humorous and enjoyable with how the entitled prince tries to make sense of the modern world.
Personally, I loved the scenes from the old Egypt. Not gonna lie, it was a feast to me. The storytelling was fantastic with dark humor woven perfectly. It fed well to my Egyptian fantasies. I found this really intriguing, enjoyable and entertaining. I love how it all came together in the end. Definitely recommend this to people who love historical fiction and mystery.
I wish I had more of the past because like I mentioned, I'm addicted to ancient Egypt.

From the mind that brought you Science for Heretics, comes a darkly comic thriller.
When Khafre, the mighty Egyptian God-King, died four and a half thousand years ago, he expected an eternity in paradise. Instead, he found himself in modern-day Cairo, trapped inside the lowliest of creatures, a police dog who earns its living by sniffing out bombs.
Yet, nightly, vivid dreams taunt him, conjuring up a brilliant life of wealth and power. As his past life reveals itself, he discovers himself to have been a man willing to pursue heresies, break sacred boundaries and even murder for the woman he loves. But nothing in these memories explains why the gods have chosen to punish him so severely.
Enduring endless humiliations in a new life he doesn’t understand, and unable to communicate his predicament, he finds himself suddenly thrust into a plot to kill millions of people. Helpless and alone, he must fight to save Egypt and his own soul.

31 Movies to watch this October!
31 Movies to watch this October!
There are thousands of horror movies out there, but some movies stand out for some reason. Here's a list of my favorite movies I'd like to re-watch now and then. This is my personal preference and some are special because it drew me into horror movies when I first began watching them and I have a lot of childhood memories associated with them. I don't scare easily, so my friends often made me watch movies on a dare. Like they'd make me watch it after switching off all the lights after ten or eleven p.m. just to see if I can hold up. Good old days...
Note: I was very young when I watched majority of the movies and English isn't my first language. I was still learning when I began to watch them. So if I mentioned anywhere I had to re-watch because I didn't understand it's because of that.
Here are a list of 31 movies that stood out to me or I found disturbing. Though I never admitted to my friends, a few movies did creeped me out. Added them to this list too.
1. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
All I remember is the deranged man killing left, right and center. I watched it maybe when I was in fifth or sixth grade? I don't remember, but yeah.
2. The Evil Dead (1981)
The very first horror movie I watched. It's not that terrifying anymore but it's special it's the first.
3. Friday the 13th (1980)
I really hate the guy in the mask.
4. Jeepers Creepers (2001)
One of the movies I watched as a dare. It was creepy and I watched it twice just to understand what's going on.
5. The Exorcist (1973)
Exorcism movies gives me creeps.
6. The Exorcism Of Emily Rose (2005)
Made me realize exorcism isn't my cup of tea. Like I said, exorcism gives me creeps.
7. Carrie (1976)
Though there are remakes now, I'm fond of this version. I like Carrie very much.
8. Final Destination' (2000)
How can I not include this in the list? I've watched all the movies in this series, but the first part still remains creepy to me. Like...the way death claims every person is just...I'm scared of tanning booths because of this movie.
9. Insidious (2010)
Really enjoyed this one.
10. Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)
Though my favorite retelling is Dracula Untold, this is the very first Count Dracula movie I watched. I was very new to vampire genre and I was fascinated.
11. 28 Days Later (2002)
I don't really like Zombies. They give me creeps. But this is one of the handful of zombie movies I honestly enjoyed. Like, it didn't leave my mind for days after watching it.
12. The Haunting in Connecticut (2009)
Another favorite movie of mine. I like this type of hauntings.
13. Mirrors (2008)
I love this movie. It made me wary of mirrors. I enjoyed watching this.
14. The Conjuring (2013)
Please...no one can argue with this. When it was released, I remember how everyone talked about nothing but 'The Conjuring.' Such a well executed plot. I'll be never tired of going back to this.
15. Annabelle (2014)
For some reason, Annabelle really creeps me out. This movie was kinda disturbing for me.
16. The Ring (2002)
Another creepy movie that gives me creeps. Like...the way this ghost moves and all paled and shit. Really...
17. Sinister (2012)
I found this disturbing than creepy.
18. Mama (2013)
I loved this movie. I ended up empathizing with Mama though she's a ghost.
19. The Nun (2018)
CREEPY. Don't wanna watch again.
20. Interview With The Vampire (1994)
It's not creepy or horror lol but it's...you know who. He he.
21. Pet Sematary (2019)
Please...no more pet horror. I can't handle this. It's creepy. I can't look at my babies the same after watching this movie.
22. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010)
I never looked at the tooth fairy the same way after this movie. It's creepy and...let's leave it at that. I'm never moving into a house that has basements.
23. Saw (2004)
No words needed for this one.
24. Alien (1979)
This series is really something.
25. Jaws (1975)
Sharks...are SCARY.
26. A Quiet Place (2018)
A well thought out plot. It's very nice.
27. Poltergeist (1982)
At first, I didn't understand what a poltergeist is. But this never leaves the mind.
28. The Omen (2006)
Still gives me creeps...The child actor nailed this role.
29. The Fly (1986)
Science experiment gone wrong...but you get the gist.
30. House of Wax (2005 film)
It's another movie that I enjoyed the most. I love it.
31. The Mummy (1999)
Not really a horror. Watched this as a part of dare and ended up being the die hard fan of Mummy series. My friend didn't know my obsession with Egypt and their archeology. I loved it the most!
