I always love a nice horror novel. This made me feel like I'm watching a nice movie.
The Haunting of Elmwood Manor revolves around three teens, who wants to become Ghost busters. Pekin Dewlap takes a step to make their silly childhood dream a reality, starting a business without her friend's knowledge. To her surprise, she receives a letter from Elonia Collins, who request her to remove whatever entity is occupying her family manor.
While elated on receiving her first business, it isn't easy to convince her friends Amber and Scout who now wants nothing to do with the ghosts. However, she succeeds in dragging them to the manor. What starts as fun soon turns into something that'll soon become their nightmare and Pekin realizes that the ghost, Miranda, a teen she thought was haunting the manor wasn't the only entity present in the manor.
What follows is for you to read and find out. It's a page turner. Though it starts off slow, it speeds up after they find the entity. The story is fast paced with short interesting chapters. It's a good read for horror lovers, who likes to read a story of a vengeful ghost.

Marty
Marty Bridges’ head pounded in time with the thumps on his office door. Whisking his wife to Paris for her birthday weekend had been fun, but had left him with a credit card bill and a hangover.
“Come in,” he shouted, hardly voicing the words before his son burst into the office.
“Dad, we’re in big trouble.” Dan had visibly paled beneath his summer tan.
“What ails you, son? Sit down.” Marty gestured to a meeting chair.
Dan remained standing. “I’ve rejected the latest shipment of Snow Mountain vodka.”
Marty gawped. “You’re joking. On what grounds?”
“We took delivery this morning,” Dan said. “A hundred cases. The rest of the shipment is still in bond. I tested a bottle.”
The procedure was usually a formality. “Go on,” Marty said.
“There was methanol in it,” Dan said.
“That’s not good.” Marty shook his head in disbelief. The pain in his temples intensified. Drinkers could go blind, or even die, if they ingested methanol. “How could it happen? Don’t tell me – Marina Aliyeva has sent the distillery to hell in a handbasket.”
“I emailed Marina to say we had to destroy the entire container-load, and wouldn’t pay for it,” Dan said. “I got a reply straight back. The gist of it was, either we pay up or she won’t supply to us again.”
The most plausible explanation was that Marina’s production team had cut corners. It was an amateurish mistake. Kat, her daughter, would never have done that. Even when Kat had made vodka in a small cellar with a Heath Robinson-type tangle of pipes, the spirit had been exceptionally pure.
Marty’s lips tightened. Tim, his eldest son, had persuaded him to invest in Kat’s new vodka brand. She was about to begin production in premises on the other side of the city centre. With a little more time, he could have asked Kat to make Snow Mountain for him. Still, vodka produced in Birmingham would be perceived differently by consumers than a spirit crafted in the tree-lined hills of Bazakistan.
Anyway, who knew whether Kat would agree? And how trustworthy was she?

Review: Kane

Thug romance is new to me. Brick in this series is the first thug romance I read. Kane now exposed me to the life of bikers.
I knew this series wouldn't be all hearts and roses the moment I read through the first chapter, yet I was intrigued to see how things will unfold. It never disappointed and I'm glad I gave it a chance.
Kane follows the story of Brick's friend Kane Hale. He's a changed man after his break up with his one true love Mandy aka their boss Amanda Griffin.
After Sucre's death the street is in chaos. No one except the Skulls and Brick knows what happened to Sucre. With the evidence disposed of the streets are free for claim.
Kane's brother Scott decides to use this chance get into drug business. Unknown to them there are people and gangs investigating Sucre's disappearance. Taking hold of the drug empire is not as easy as it seems.
Kane is drawn to trouble though he wants none of it. Life once again puts him with Amanda and it was time to face their past. The story revolves around the gangs and the couple while keeping the readers on their toes.
Once again, this is a page turner and heart racing read. I'm addicted to the writing style and waiting to see if there are more in the series.
I highly recommend this to readers who love thug or biker romance. Definitely worth a read.

Review: Beasty

This is the sequel to Mated to the Alpha King, but a standalone book itself. Another best work from the author and another best read with a beautiful romance. You can read this without reading Mated to the Alpha King.
This is the story of Rome, Bryce's cousin and Theia's best friend from MTTAK. We meet Romanov in Book 1. He comes off as an arrogant one, but we see what a softie he was, underneath all that hard exteriror.
Rome meets Olivia at the verge of death. She had met with an accident and is fighting for her life. On finding his mate he marks her to save her life and admits her in the hospital before disappearing from her life. Olivia calls him Beasty and thinks it was just her imagination until she gets a call from him.
Romanov has a secret, a curse which does not allow him to accept her as his mate in public. He stays away from her as far as possible. But the mate bond only grows stronger by the day.
Fate has other plans. When Olivia manages to break his walls and he finally does announce her as his mate, the ancient curse is unleashed. What happens when the curse everyone believed to be a myth unleashes itself on them?
Romanov - hard, cold, distant, brooding - there are just so many words to his exterior facade. Underneath all he's just a man, who longs to be loved by his one and only. Olivia loses her parents at a young age and then loses her sister in a car accident. There's someone who's out there to kill her entire family. That person is the one who caused her accident in the first place. Her attraction to Rome is inevitable. She's hurt when he doesn't reciprocate her feelings, but soon learns why he wouldn't do so.
Together they must fight this before it claimed a life.
The curse part is great twist to this story and took it to another level. As usual I enjoyed reading this story that kept me on my toes. The romance is beautiful and the friendship is to envy for. The climax is just...wow! And the secret, you should really read to know what it is. I'm not gonna tell ya.
I highly recommend this read to Werewolf/Paranormal Romance lovers.

My, my, my... It's been a while since I had a good laugh. Thanks again to my favorite author.
Bad Things is one of my favorite series from this author. And it took me long enough to get to this one. Damn, I'd been scolding myself for delaying the read despite purchasing the books a while back. What an exciting read it was?
Griffin is the King of all shifters. He's locked in the dungeons by a council of witches and is trapped in his beast form. His time is running out and so is Valerie's. Valerie Storm is the most bad ass witch out there and is the most feared. When she sees Griffin as her only hope to escape the sentence of execution by the Witch Council, she proposes a deal. A deal the beast couldn't say no to.
The beast and the witch are now bound. The catch? Their bonding is temporary. Griffin tries his best to avoid the tempting witch with a sarcastic mouth. How long can he deny the pull of the bond? And their enemies have other plans for them. Will they be able to escape their evil clutches in time?
Valerie took me by surprise. Her character is so refreshing and kept me entertained throughout. She made me laugh and Griffin as usual is a sexy bastard with his head most of the times in his ass. But I did like him. The characters all contribute well to the plot. The fast paced plot kept me hooked and made me wonder what happens next.
I really liked the easy flowing and found myself smiling often at Valerie's comeback.
Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Shaun focused on the pictures fixed to his scuffed white wall: ten photographs, almost identical. Blonde hair, voluptuous bosoms and green eyes beckoned. He would see her again, he told himself, and this time she wouldn’t be pointing a gun at him. Licking his lips, he switched off the light and climbed, alone, into his bunk. Early though it was, he needed to sleep, to shake off the flu that was rocketing around the prison. A man in his position had to stay on top of his game. At least Bazza had been shipped out earlier; the bottom bunk was empty, and Bazza’s snores would no longer disturb him.Dreams came quickly, returning him to a familiar world: roulette wheels, sharp suits, flashes of fifty pound notes and flimsy dresses, the blonde blowing a perfect curl of cigarette smoke at him.The grinding of a key in the lock and the clang of an opening door were simply part of his night-time fantasy at first. The heavies were throwing an irate punter out of the building. Shaun turned back to the blonde. Then, as his cell flooded with light and a screw’s voice said, “Meet your new padmate,” he snapped awake.Despite the fever, it took seconds to recognise the man who strode into the tiny cell. He’d featured on TV news a lot recently, albeit clad in Savile Row’s finest rather than the faded maroon tracksuit he was wearing now. The bald head and reddened, fleshy face were unmistakable.
