Why I’m Making 2018 My Anti-Resolution New Year

My stomach wasn’t feeling well but I promised to take Big A Christmas shopping. Halfway through I felt worse. And when we got home, I collapsed on my bed. So many thoughts running through my head:

How am I going to get it all done before Christmas?


I’m so behind in my writing goals for the end of the year!

We really need to plan that winter trip.

My stomach pains were increasing when I had a flashback of the last 11 years....

Holiday Rotation 2017

 

Even though I don’t need to, I always end up creating a Holiday Rotation. That’s because things get crazy and there’s more baking and cooking for parties. I find it helps to sit down and make a plan (whether or not I follow it).


I’m focusing on potluck ideas and baking and trying to keep it simple for meals. I’m going to try Easy Homemade Ramen from Damn Delicious and add back in Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili from Budge...

What’s Your Family Dinner Solution? [My Rebranded Book and Giveaway]

I’ve learned a lot since writing my first book. Sometimes you try something and it works, and other times not so much.

Two years ago I launched What to Cook for Dinner with Kids. This was not my dream title but I tried a different strategy. I examined what people searched for online and got a list going. At the time about 14,000 people typed in “What to Cook for Dinner.” Hoping my book would eventually show up when people searched this term, I went with the title adding with kids at the end.

Why Puberty is the Ideal Time to Invest in Bone Health

I started a post on nutrition and puberty but soon realized the information on bone health was just too vast. Clearly, this topic deserves its own post in the series.

In early childhood bone mass builds at a steady rate but that all changes during puberty. In girls, about half of their lifetime total body calcium is deposited during puberty. Boys are even higher — 50-65%.
