Fearkiller (Volume 1) chapter, from fall of 2008. (NSFW)

—The following is a vignette from Fearkiller (Volume 1). In a few places, the story departs from the main narrative to focus on tangential vignettes which talk about the same subject matter of the main narrative from a different angle. This is one of those points in the story. I wanted to zero in on … Continue reading →

The Broncos and 9/11 are linked in my world.

Super Bowl XLVII baby! I was reading through an old journal of mine last night, the entry is dated 10/22/04. Because the Broncos are in the Super Bowl, and I’m excited as hell about this fact, I wanted to type in this entry here. I slightly paraphrased for clarity. “… you and that Broncos game … Continue reading »

What do you think: is The Recession® upon us?

Today I was hanging out in a park near my place and celebrating the passage of Amendment 64. Scribbling a bit, thinkin’. (For you non-CO folk it was a 70-degree day, beautiful). If you like Fearkiller on Facebook (and if not, please do) you might have seen my postings about The Recession®. I posted about it … Continue reading »

Syria: No.

Dear Mr. President, I can’t believe I’m siding with this current Congress, but I hope they vote down your request for war with Syria. (Though before going further: if the U.N. inspectors deliver their research results and there is sufficient evidence that Assad is indeed using chemical weapons, then it’s time for the U.N. to … Continue reading »

The military suicide rate and human development. Are we are evolving beyond war?

This chart image comes from an earlier blog post. I pitched out the idea that maybe the craziness we are feeling is due to evolution. My belief is that the genus Homo Sapien, the term used to describe our kind for the last 250,000 years, needs to be retired. In terms of the image on … Continue reading »

Publicis Omnicom Group employees: first 50 workers to be laid off will each receive a free copy of Fearkiller (Volume 1).

So there was a merger. Two publicly-traded companies worth tons of money are now an an entity with more cash than some countries. Layoffs are going to happen. (Not fear mongering here, I’m stating a fact. Worldwide, at least 50 people under the Publicis Omnicom umbrella are going to lose their jobs.) To those who … Continue reading »

The Trayvon Martin case “evidence”

Justice was not served. This country has far to go. I’m tremendously sad about all of it. I am posting because one point that keeps being made is that the case itself was shoddy. According to a certain train of thought, this case would never have made it to court if race didn’t politicize everything. The evidence … Continue reading »

Sequester leads to The Recession®

Christine Lagarde, Chief of The IMF, is telling it like it is. Government, Congress, entitled old white guys: your inaction has repercussions. While these repercussions that don’t affect you,  they can devastate others in the country—and the world. A chunk of this country, people who are paid good money to make decisions, doesn’t seem to … Continue reading »

Thanks again, Gandhi.

Saw this bit of awesomeness while waiting in line to check out somewhere last week. People like Gandhi were proof that giant far away elements of the Universe (think dark matter and dark energy—entities that we Earthlings can’t define yet) have connections to our planet. I’m looking forward to having a great week. I … Continue reading »
