My Biggest Leap of Faith & What I’ve Learned So Far

Some anniversaries are quickly forgotten. Others are meant to be honoured because of the power they hold as reminders of how far we’ve come when we didn’t think we could do something.

This boarding pass marks the anniversary of my biggest leap of faith, which I took on this day in 2008. It’s important for me to pay tribute to it every year, because it put me fully on course with my dreams, my desires, and my purpose.

I’ve been working on this project between websites, coaching clients, writing the second book in my niki owl series, and moving around the country. Which goes to show that we can continually create amidst the “busy-ness” of life.

A Letter to My Deceased iMac & Thoughts on Our Real Relationship with Technology

Whilst some people idolize technology for the technology itself (and go berserk if it breaks), the truth is there is actually a different kind of relationship here that yearns for conscious attention (though I’m not referring to “her“).

In keeping with my usual positive thinking/spiritual approach to life, this post is an ode to a piece of technology that has journeyed with me through various life experiences that I’ve been able to document with it, and create anew from. It is also an invitati...

The Transformative Power of a Good Story

A client recently came to me with his concerns about letting go of stress in negative situations. For the sake of privacy, we’ll call him Arthur.

Arthur’s default was to go into anger and flip out when things aren’t going his way, which of course never really helped resolve anything in the moment. He was looking to feel more at ease even when things are going ape shape around him.

Can you relate to Arthur?

Here’s the situation he came to me with:

Arthur had taken his car to the mechanic with some...

My Wishes For You & The Story of 12 Grapes

I’m going to cut to the chase and sum up 2013 before welcoming 2014 (and wonder how that phrase was coined later).

To everyone who entrusted their website or web presence with me, and felt revitalised through the process – thank you.

To everyone who bought one of my books, and discovered something new – thank you.

To everyone who coached with me, and found renewed faith in their abilities – thank you.

To everyone who downloaded the PDFs I created, and found inspiration from them – thank you.

That’...

Did You Forget About It?

A year ago this week I launched my first book. From this 1999 manuscript, to this one last summer, to the actual book…

niki owl manuscripts

It only took me 14 years to make my biggest dream happen and turn an almost-forgotten manuscript into something I could be proud of.

This manuscript travelled the world with me, like that special photo you keep in your wallet no matter what. I kept thinking about that, and my cartoon owl niki. Every now and then I would dabble with both.

A lot of people have asked me how I final...

Great, Full, and Grateful

We didn’t really celebrate Thanksgiving growing up in Spain, even though my mother is American.

And it wasn’t until I spent my first fall in Canada that I realised they celebrate it a month earlier there. Which is great, because I now get to celebrate it twice in a year.

But of course, being grateful is a regular, conscious act…

As some of us prepare to celebrate our gratitude with heightened awareness this week, I want to remind you to be grateful for yourself as well. Indulge in the gratitude...

This story opens many doors…

Do you often think that your dream projects can’t happen until you’ve completed a milestone in your career or fulfilled certain obligations*?

That’s how I thought about it for 14 years while I was building hundreds of websites and dreaming of the books I would write, because I was brought up to do what I “had” to before doing what I really felt like doing. Until I finally took the leap and did just that.

Before I tell you how I did this and what it’s done for me, I’d like to extend a special th...
