Wrapping up the roughage of Ord
At long last, the end draws near. I'm happy to be starting work on the final chapter of TGL's sequel. Surprisingly, this road feels like it's been longer than the one that led to creation of the first book. Maybe it's the content. TGL was the start of the series, so there was a fair amount of "build up" before it was time to tackle the meat of the story. Book 2 launches right into the thick of it. As a result I was able to cover more ground, but as I look back, boy have I put the cast through a lot! I have a feeling if some of them were reading over my shoulder they would be less than pleased (which, depending on the character, could be very, very bad for me).
At any rate, there will most certainly be a completed draft soon!

Hoody Hoo!
112,722 words later, and the rough draft for the second book in the Traveler of Ord saga is complete!
As I expected, there was a lot more to say this time around. Well, it will be time to get involved with the editing process soon. Hoping I can maybe cut that word count down a bit, but then, it IS the second book as opposed to the first. So, I have to wonder if length is quite as big a deal, considering one isn't likely to read a sequel novel if they haven't read the first book (and subsequently wouldn't be reading it in the first place if they didn't already have some interest in the series just because of the first book).
Well, I suppose that's a concern for a different day. Right now I think it's time to kick some working title ideas around and otherwise enjoy the milestone :)
