Someone else on tumblr pointed out that PASSENGERS might have been a more
meaningful movie if it was about just THE ONE person dealing with being
alone on the ship for the rest of their life.  And if, to cope, they go
through and make it a point to learn everything they can about all of the other
people on the ship.

And I just keep thinking about this idea.

Someone made a thing!

It is a good thing.

Hello cadets!

We are taking a mid season hiatus.  We desperately needed the break.  But fear not!  We will return to saving Kirk’s ass later this summer.

Live long and prosper!

The Rare North American Shit Gibbon, like the mosquito, offers...

The Rare North American Shit Gibbon, like the mosquito, offers no meaningful contributions to its ecosystem.  In fact, its presence so devastates its environment biologists theorize it could be  an invasive species, citing the Russian Murder Gibbon as a possible relation.

Biologists were relieved to see the population quietly dwindling over the past decade.  But this last year, media attention renewed interest in the Shit Gibbon.

Somehow people overlooked the shrieking and indiscriminate poo-flinging and found a place in their hearts for the Shit Gibbon.  Rallies to preserve the creature have since caused a maddening uptick in numbers.

“Please.” One Forest Service agent begged.  “Please, no one tell them about the Hairless Bannon Ape.”

When it was explained that the media and population at large were already aware of the Bannon Ape, the Forest Service agent became so inconsolable the interview had to be cut short.

Some individuals have even brought the Shit Gibbon into their homes as pets.

They have expressed deep regret after having come to know the Shit Gibbon’s behaviors better though.

“I know they all SAID that the Shit Gibbon would scream endlessly at all hours of the day.  Every day.  Especially around 5am.” One unfortunate owner yelled.  The noise from her living room was deafening. “But I assumed it would become more reasonable once I brought it into the house.”

We asked how she had come to that conclusion, the owner shrugged.  “Well.  I mean.  I couldn’t take the media on the Shit Gibbon seriously, now could I?  They cast the creature in such a negative light.”

‘It never occurred to you that this ‘negative light’ could just be accurate reporting that the Shit Gibbon was awful?’

“…I’ll give it four more years.”  The owner responded, reaching for her BOSE headphones.  “Maybe it will be better behaved by then.”

Forest Service agents have since renewed their intent to demolish the Shit Gibbon’s numbers.  Many are even going so far as to privately mobilize efforts that undermine the Shit Gibbon’s resurgence.

“We’re simple people.” One agent remarked on their off time. “We love our forests.  We hate that Gibbon.”

We pray that their efforts are successful.
