Your Wednesday PIQue fix
The penultimate page of the current Politically InQueerect storyline is up! Dee has her revenge, and moves on to her next target.
Check in later this week, when I’ll post a new cartoon I drew about Herman Melville’s unrequited love for Nathaniel Hawthorne. (Yes, this is a real thing that happened, but more on that later.)
Trying to think if there are any other goings on I need to tell you about. There’s stuff in progress for sure, I just don’t have much to say at the moment other than “in progress.” So! Anyway. See you in a couple of days for Melville/Hawthorne.
Cheers,
Dylan

That Cecil x Carlos thing I warned you about
So anyway, here’s this thing. If you want to reblog on tumblr, maybe use this post so I can see all your entertaining tags.
I completely forgot to mention, by the way, that there’s a new issue of Rocksalt out, and I have a comic in it. You can read it online. Or if you’re in the central Texas area you can snag a physical copy in lots of places around Austin and San Antonio and I don’t even know where else.
Okay, gotta go work on things.
Cheers,
Dylan
Welcome to Night Vale fan art: Cecil x Carlos
Now you know why Carlos won’t let Cecil come into the lab with him. Experiments in chemistry may occur, but ain’t no science gettin’ done.

Time for more PiQue
The latest page of Politically InQueerect is up on Tapastic. Turns out, Dee is not interested in putting up with anyone’s bullshit.
Thanks to everyone who backed the QU33R Kickstarter! We are funded and going to press, oh yes. I don’t know a release date yet, but once I do I will obvs let you know all about it.
I haven’t got much else for ya at the moment, though I’m hoping to have more funs on the ol’ site for next week. Funs as in more dirty pitchers of Cecil and Carlos, ahem, cough.
Cheers,
Dylan

New PiQue, tumblings, QU33R, and Bent-Con
The latest Politically InQueerect is up on Tapastic. Now we get to find out what Dee’s high school experience was like. Guessing she read a lot of Sandman and listened to a lot of Siouxsie (no, wait, I don’t have to guess).
And, just in case you missed it, I started a new Tumblr blog for my queer comics and art stuff. Follow along if you’re into that sort of thing (and you are or you wouldn’t be here, right?).
Also also, the Kickstarter for QU33R has been successfully funded, but you still have a couple of days to pre-order your copy of the book and snag some of the fun extras. So get on that if you ain’t already.
Finally, I’m sorry to say I WON’T be making an official appearance at Bent-Con as I have a schedule conflict. Which is too bad, because it sounds like it’s going to be an awesome show. And it’s this weekend! So if you’re in SoCal, do make a point to check it out. As for me, I’ll be at Designer Con, which is right next door in Pasadena, CA. It’s an indie toy/design show, and I’ll be there representin’ the Feeps. Heck, go to both shows. Why not.
Cheers,
Dylan

I Night Vale fan arted again
Here’s my scribbling of Cecil and Carlos makin’ out in the eerie light of the Glow Cloud. I decided not to ink it and just do digital color over/under the pencils. For fun.
Here’s my tublr posting of it, should you wish to tumble it there.
I have spent way too much time on this.
Cheers,
Dylan
Welcome to Night Vale fan art: Cecil and Carlos makin’ out
I felt compelled to do this for various reasons, some of which should be pretty obvious. Cecil Gershwin Palmer and Carlos making out in the eerie light of the Glow Cloud.
My web site is pretty busted, so this image will probably show up twice. Sigh.

Yer weekly PIQue
Our tale of high school reminiscences soldiers on: Dee makes a joke to defuse a rather tense conversation, and is met with chat silence … DUN DUN DUN.
Also, just in case you missed it, I started a new tumblr for my comics and art stuffs. In addition to the sorts of things you’d read about here (new comics postings, show information, etc.), I’ll also be using the tumblr to post random art of mine like sketches and whatnot. AND, I will occasionally post examples from my collection of old, obscure, out-of-print comics of yore … things I think might be interesting or relevant to people who follow what I do.
Cheers,
Dylan

Oh, look, a tumblr blog for my art stuffs
So yeah, I finally decided to make a tumblr art blog. Couple reasons:
1. A lot of the artists I keep in touch with via the intertrons are tumbling, so it just makes that aspect of social media easier.
2. I took down a bunch of my sketch stuff when I redesigned this website, because I wanted to slim things down and make the site more manageable (how much I succeeded in that is up for debate). But that does leave a bunch of sketches and random art that have been hidden from the world. Well, no more! They are now being art blogged.
I’ll also post about comic updates and works-in-progress on the ol’ tumb, so follow along if that’s an easier way for you to keep up.
Anyway, this sexy copy editor fellow is one of the arts that I have resurrected for the blog. I don’t know how many people actually do searches for “sexy copy editor,” but if you do, well, here you go.
Cheers,
Dylan

Moar PiQue! Moar Beyond!
The latest PiQue is up on Tapastic right this very now. Dee and Alicia’s chat session continues along, and makes some turns down some dark paths.
The dialogue on this page is extensively reworked from the original (I think, I hope, for the better). So even if you’ve read it before, go read it through again. I mean, if you want to. I’m certainly not the boss of you.
I’m getting closer and closer to having all the preliminary character designs for my story for Beyond done. (I say preliminary, because once the actual drawing starts things tend to drift and adapt as necessary.) Anyway, this is a Tola. They are a hominin species indigenous to the Valley where this story takes place (humans, by the way, are NOT indigenous to the Valley – li’l invasive species).
So, like, here on Earth you got yer humans and you got yer apes, and somewhere in between we had for awhile a few different hominin species wandering around. But none of ‘em made it to the present day except for us. Well, in my little fantastical science world, we all got separated long enough for some of those other hominin species to establish successful branches of the ol’ evolutionary tree (mind you, not necessarily based on any actual Earth hominin). The Tolas are one of those species.
They’re just as smart as humans, but their different adaptations lead them to express that intelligence differently (like, for instance, no clothes, because why do you need clothes when you’ve got all that fur?).
This character design is not 100% of where I want it to be, but it’s getting very close. EVOLVING, if you will, ha ha.
Cheers,
Dylan
