Blush of Love by Rachelle Ayala
Blush of Love by Rachelle AyalaTalented video game designer Safire Chu is gun-shy when it comes to dating real men, especially since she spends all her time shooting at their avatars.
Football player Gunner Gibson is nothing but trouble, according to the Remingtons—especially since he tried to use Siena Remington to clean up his bad boy image.
Now, Gunner wants to cheat on an online video game, so he asks Safire to a New Year’s Eve party while his publicist hacks into the game database through Safire’s computer.
A bit of champagne and the countdown to the ball drop loosens Safire’s inhibitions. When her company’s newest secret game is pirated, Safire wonders if the man she’s fallen for at first blush is not all he seems.

No way. It can’t be. The Gunner Gibson?
Safire Chu blinked and blinked, but the man standing at her apartment door seemed like the real thing—three dimensional, oozing with charm and was that a whiff of cologne? Three-dimensional avatars, well, actually 3D projected on 2D screens didn’t smell like sex and spice and woods and oh gosh, they didn’t stand at her door with a bouquet of red roses.
“You must have the wrong apartment.” Safire found her voice which managed to eek from her throat in a tiny squeak.
“You are Miss Safire Chu, aren’t you?” the man god in front of her insisted.
“Uh, sure, if you say so.” She fumbled with her tongue as her brain busily catalogued his dark, smooth hair, his chiseled angular face, his lady-killer eyes, and all of the features she’d need for her latest superhero video game avatar.
Yes, she was a video game designer, and she could use real models to fill out the wireframes she created—ones to represent Army rangers, Navy SEALs, interplanetary warriors, and, now that she thought about it, football players.
“May I come in?” He angled himself as if he were about to barge through a line of defensive backs.
“Sure, uh, yes, I mean, the place is a mess. I’ll get out of your way.” She stepped back and let the star football player into her tiny one-bedroom apartment, although she had no clue why he was standing in front of her with a dozen roses.

Pitching of  Love by Amy Manemann
Pitching of  Love by Amy ManemannTough as nails publicist, Mia Scott, has built her career by dodging the advances from her elite clientele. Her number one rule; never mix business with pleasure. Until a split second decision leads her to a night of unbridled passion -- and the morning after blues when she discovers the man she spent an amazing night with is her newest client.
A professional pitcher for the Marlins, Evan Ahrens knows he messed up, and messed up royally. One mistake on the field puts him on thin ice with the league and lands him a new PR rep to fix his soiled image. He goes to NightCaps to toss back a few drinks and blow off some steam -- and meets his match in a feisty dark haired woman who takes him to heights he's never been. There's only one problem -- she's his new publicist, and she's made it clear there will be no repeat performances.
A battle of wills gives way to uncontrollable passion as Mia fights her growing feelings to keep things professional, while Evan decides for once in his life he wants something more. The game just went from saving his career, to pitching for love.

“I think it would be best for our professional interests if we pretended like last night didn’t happen. Is that going to be a problem, Mr. Ahrens?”
Her words were sharp and unforgiving, her features tight, but when he looked deeper, Evan saw real fear in her eyes. Like it had last night, the urge to protect her tightened his chest, and he wondered what had ever happened to put that fear in her eyes in the first place.
Slipping from the bench, he drew to his full height, touching her soft cheek with his fingertips. She didn’t flinch away from him as he half expected she would, which gave him hope that she hadn’t completely written him off. Yet.
“What are you afraid of, Sweetness? That a little heat might rattle that icy cage you’ve got yourself wrapped up in? I seem to recall you were pretty warm last night,” he purred, his body revving when an answering heat shimmered in her eyes.

Cameo by: Siena Remington from Melissa Foster’s Flames of Love

“That’s what I love about this city. All the surprises, big and small. Like meeting you tonight,” he said. Suddenly they were face to face, in this romantic starlit space. Charlotte looked up at Hale, standing in front of her, and all she wanted was for him to kiss her.
“Kiss me,” she said, and heard him inhale a breath before taking her face gently between his two hands and kissing her tenderly on the lips. Her head filled with stars at the gentle romantic kiss. As if moving of their own accord, she ran her hands up his chest and onto his shoulders, wrapping them around him. She felt his hand in her hair, cradling her as he deepened the kiss. Before she knew it, she was melting into his embrace. And all too quickly, she felt him pulling away.
“Wow,” he said, breaking the kiss but keeping his eyes locked on hers.

Love in the City by Zoe York
Love in the City by Zoe YorkNYPD detective Daniel DeCecco didn’t want to fall hard for his best friend’s little sister. But Lucy has a plan…
Off-limits love is tested, ice cream sundaes are violated, and honesty (eventually) proves to be the best policy in this standalone sequel to Love On The Record (Griffin and Tessa’s story).

Daniel tried like hell to pay attention to the conversation going on beside him at the bar, but on the other side of the ballroom at the Waldorf Astoria, Lucy Sark wasn’t wearing nearly enough to be out in public.
He’d recognize Griffin’s baby sister anywhere, anytime, and not because she was related to his partner, but because she was the most beautiful, way-too-young, don’t-even-think-about-it woman in New York City.
And he was going to hell, because every time she stopped and talked to someone, and slid her head to the side, baring a long, luscious expanse of neck, he could only think about how good she must smell. Taste. Sound, even, if he were to give in to his desperate urge to smell and taste her.
She was wearing a little black dress that was giving him heart palpitations, because it ended way too high on her endless thighs and dipped way too low on her graceful back. She needed someone—Daniel—to sling his jacket around her and make sure she got home safely. He didn’t move from where he stood. That was a terrible idea.
He took another drink.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Zoe York is a busy mom of two young boys and the creator of modern, sexy, small town contemporary romances. Revived by Love by Stacy EatonA New Year’s kiss with a stranger turns Pediatrician Mark Ellis’s world upside down. Even more so when he is called into the hospital for a drowning victim and finds out his patient is the son of the woman who changed everything for him.
Joanne Ward is done with her husband and his cheating ways. A single kiss with a man she doesn’t know seals the deal and the divorce papers are served. When her son falls through ice and is clinging to life, she comes face to face with the man who gave her the inner strength to move forward. Can they revive the sparks they initially shared, or will the incident with her son send them in opposite directions?

I studied her profile. Her long dark hair was pulled back and clipped at the nape of her neck, and her pointed chin was raised in evident defiance. She blinked rapidly for a moment and shook her head as if to dispel a bad thought. Slowly, she lifted her champagne glass and let the crystal rest against her plump bottom lip. She tipped the glass back and took several swallows to finish the entire glass.
I found myself oddly turned on when she licked her dark red lip after removing the glass from her mouth. I wasn’t a big drinker and preferred sober company, but watching that woman drink down that glass as if it was life-sustaining water was almost intoxicating. She glanced around the room, empty glass hanging from her fingertips, until she passed over me. Abruptly, her focus snapped back.
Her eyes stayed locked on mine for a few heartbeats before she dropped them to my mouth. I watched as she let her gaze travel down over my chest and then lower to my hips. Holy mother of champagne!

RELEASE TOUR & #Giveaway: Scoring at Love by Michele Shriver
 Author: Michele Shriver
Author: Michele ShriverOfficial genre of book: Contemporary romance (sports)

As the starting goaltender for the San Antonio Generals, Becker Lawson tries to fly under the radar, and since most hockey fans are more interested in the players that score, he’s generally allowed that luxury—at least until the Generals’ offseason hockey camps put Beck front and center.
After a difficult divorce, newly single Kendall Myers has every intention of remaining that way—no matter how sexy her son’s new hockey coach might be.
When Beck crosses paths with Kendall, the chemistry is immediately evident, even if she doesn’t want to see it. Can Beck break down her walls and prove that when it comes to love, even goalies can score?

The temperature outside topped the century mark, typical of Texas in June, but the inside of the Alamo Ice Rink was a cool, temperature-controlled fifty-seven degrees. Becker Lawson watched the people filing into the rink and wondered if they were all truly interested in the opening day of the Young Generals hockey camp, or if some of them merely wanted to find a way to beat the San Antonio heat by spending the day in a cool environment. Either way, it appeared that the camp would be well-attended.
There were forty children signed up for the camp, which would allow them to hone their hockey skills with a handful of San Antonio Generals players serving as their coaches. The enrollment numbers for this inaugural camp exceeded everyone’s expectation. Hopefully a few would be budding goaltenders who could benefit from Becker’s tutelage. He knew one of the kids already, a young boy named Bryson Crawford, who was the son of the host family that Becker’s Russian teammate, Nikolai Brantov, had stayed with this season. Bryson had attended a few team practices, so Beck was already familiar with his passion for the sport, and particularly the goalie position.
Beck waited as Meryl Johnson, the director of the camp and the daughter of the Generals’ owner, introduced the coaches and gave them each a chance to tell the kids a little about themselves and the position they played. Finally, after Nik, team captain and star center, Colton Tremblay, right wingers Trevor Collison and Ryder Carrigan, and defenseman Noah Mann had spoken, it was Beck’s turn. Yeah, typical to save the goalie until the very end. It wasn’t the position of glory and glamour. After all, goalies didn’t score, or at least not very often, and too many times they were the goat, shouldering the blame for giving up the goal that might cost their team the game.
Becker first started playing goalie at the age of ten, and never looked back. He couldn’t imagine playing any other position, and he looked forward to teaching his skills to these boys and girls. “Hi there,” he said, taking the microphone from Meryl after she’d introduced him. “I’m Becker Lawson, and I’m the starting goaltender for the Generals. To me, goalie is the most important position on a hockey team. It combines physical skills, mental skills, and emotional skills.” He went on to explain about the importance of each before asking, “How many of you here have played goalie before, or think you might be interested in playing goalie?”
Six hands went up, including Bryson, as expected, and one girl, which pleased Beck. The NWHL had opened up professional hockey to women, and he wanted the sport, and the position, to be inclusive to everyone. “Great. Anyone else?”
There was a boy in the front that caught Beck’s eye. He raised his hand a little ways, then pulled it down, as if he couldn’t make up his mind.
Beck moved closer to him. “What’s your name?”
“Tristan,” the boy said. “Tristan Myers.”
“Hi, Tristan. You seem a little uncertain, like maybe you’re not sure who want to be a goalie. Do you have any questions for me, maybe help you decide?”
“Oh, no. My mind’s made up,” Tristan said. “I already know I want to play goalie. It’s just my mom…” His voice trailed off as he looked down at the ice.
“Your mom doesn’t want you to?” Beck asked.
“Yeah. She says it’s too dangerous for me.”
A common concern, but not an accurate one. “Is your mom here? Maybe I can talk with her for a minute, change her mind.”
“Could you?” Tristan smiled, revealing a missing front tooth. “That’d be great.” He turned around and pointed. “That’s her over there. First row. Blue sweater.”
Beck’s eyes followed Tristan’s finger to a stunning woman with auburn hair that cascaded to her shoulders in soft waves. She wore jeans, the blue sweater Tristan mentioned, and a black leather jacket. She was, quite simply, one of the most beautiful women Beck had ever seen. She also quite likely married, and thus completely off limits. He could still talk a little hockey with her, though, just nothing else. “Great. Let me go see what I can do, buddy.”

Kendall was glad she’d worn a coat. It might be hotter than Hades outside, but it was plenty chilly inside the rink. Her close friend and fellow hockey mom hadn’t been as smart, and now Lori rubbed her arms as she complained about the cold temperature.
“Hopefully watching all these hot guys in action will warm me up quickly,” she declared.
Kendall raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me? Aren’t you married?”
“Yes,” Lori said. “Married, not dead. I’m still allowed to appreciate a good-looking man, and this hockey team is full of them. Seriously, they ought to make a calendar. I don’t know why they haven’t.”
“Whatever.” Kendall did her best to sound as if she hadn’t even noticed. The last thing she wanted was her friend to get any ideas that one of the players might be a good match for Kendall.
“Yeah, ‘whatever,’ yourself,” Lori chided. “It’s time for you to get back in the game.”
“Can we quit with the sports references, please? Oh, and the divorce has only been final for three weeks.” Kendall wanted a chance to enjoy being single, which sounded good in theory. The reality was all she’d done so far was feel sorry for herself. Even the day the decree was approved by the judge, when Lori showed up at the house with several bottles of high-priced sparkling wine in an attempt to celebrate Kendall’s newfound singlehood, she’d ended up a blubbering mess.
“Yes, but the marriage was over long before that,” her friend said, before softening her tone. “Look, Kendall, I know it stings. Carter was an ass. Actually, Carter is still an ass. But it doesn’t mean all men are. There are plenty of good ones in the world.”
Kendall was about to offer another ‘whatever,’ which had become her new favorite word, when Lori said, “Oh my. Hello. Hottie alert. And he’s coming this way.”
Sure enough, Kendall turned her head and spotted one of the Generals players, whom she recognized as the starting goalie, heading toward them. Lori wasn’t exaggerating. He was definitely hot, with dark hair and piercing brown eyes.

SAMPLE FROM THE SHORT STORY "A CRYSTAL SNOWFLAKE"Orion gave a quick scan of the room. He needed to make sure he had everything important. His backpack was stuffed and the computer case held so much that there were edges of paper sticking out of it in a haphazard manner. The slender young man slung the strap of the computer bag over his shoulder, grabbed the backpack and headed for the front door. His hand paused as he reached for the knob and he looked out the window. It was dark and he could see the snow falling through the street lights. There didn’t seem to be anyone about, so he slipped from the house and walked casually to his trusty old Chevy, his breath coming out in rapid visible puffs. The nonchalance was an act. He wanted anyone watching to assume he was going to M.I.T. to get in some late night work. He scanned the shadows, hoping that no one was there. He threw his backpack on the passenger seat then wedged the computer case between it and the seat back. He wanted both within easy reach. Once buckled in, he allowed his nervousness to slip out and thoroughly checked the view from his mirrors. He eased onto the street and when there was no sign of his tires slipping, increased his speed. Orion reached into the pocket of the backpack for the pre-paid phone that he’d picked up when he determined his cell had been tapped. At the stop sign, he punched in a number. The snow flurries were increasing and he switched on the wipers. Orion waited for his friend to pick up.He smiled when he heard her voice and responded by saying, “I’m on my way and no one is following me. Just in case, I sent instructions to our safe place. Don’t worry about retrieving the envelope unless I don’t get there by morning. Okay. Gotta go. I’ll be at your door for breakfast with your favorite croissants. Have the coffee brewed.”Orion laughed at the response. “Okay. I need to concentrate on driving in this stuff. See you soon, Chayse. Bye.”Beyond the stop sign, the road sloped to a picturesque country bridge, one of many that dotted the New England states. He had to admit it was beautiful in the snowfall but with the driving conditions worsening, he focused on how the car responded to his small adjustments in steering. In the weak light, he didn’t notice the watcher standing in the shelter of some trees on the far side of the road. The muffled figure took a box out of his pocket, pointed it at the car and pushed a button. The loud sibilant schwuff of the slush hitting the car’s undercarriage drowned out the pop.Without any warning, Orion’s power steering quit. Working to compensate on the slick road, he fought to correct the fish-tailing motion of the car. “Shit!” He tapped the brakes and was horrified as his foot went all the way to the floor.Fighting the wheel and the momentum of the old Chevy on the slippery surface became his entire focus…and he was losing. He tried gearing down and applying the emergency brake, but the car went into a spin and he caught a glimpse of the bridge railing coming up too fast. “Shit!” The car broke through the wooden barrier and sailed into the darkness over the side.

The officers wanted me to straighten up after they had gotten their evidence. I couldn’t find anything missing, but I did find M’nacht had programed a message bot and left it docked on the dash-key. Kes—he had set it on a timer to call in the alarm! Damn him! He had known they were coming and sent a delayed call for help! He took that beating when he could have prevented it! This morning before I left, he had mentioned for me to keep in touch with you if he couldn’t. I didn’t think much about it at the time. Anyway, I want you to know I’m here and watching out for him. Knowing that maddening old man, he probably sent you a message too. Whatever it was—heed it!” Kes ran a shaky hand over his face and let out a shuddering breath. The steam car beeped its proximity to their destination. Kes took over the controls and parked in his space. The messages had rattled him enough that he braked the vehicle with a jolt instead of his normal smooth skill. He would rather be by his adopted father’s side, but the old man’s words kept playing in his mind. He needed to get to M’nacht’s place in the Heights as nonchalantly as possible and let himself in. It sounded like the home could be under surveillance. It didn’t matter who was watching: the law or thugs. He couldn’t be seen and he had to get in and out as fast as possible. This was the last twi-day. Perhaps the gloom would help. Pulling out a bulky sweater and a hat to disguise himself, he slipped the pack on his back and left the garage. His vacation could wait a few minutes. When Kes got to the house, he furtively stepped off the sidewalk and behind some concealing bushes, then, crouching low, sprinted. He let himself into the empty house and, moving with as much rapid stealth as he could, went to M’nacht’s study. He glanced at the blood stains on the rug, the shards of a broken vase and the pile of books that Quin had organized as he’d tidied up. Wasting no time, Kes strode to the navorite and tapped a rhythm on the base. There was an almost inaudible whirring and a click as the gears engaged and the door opened. Kes listened to the silent house, then stepped inside the closet. He quickly removed the sweater and hat, stuffing them in the pack. The peepholes showed he was still alone in the room, so he turned to the work space. He glanced at the shelves and the armored wall safe but nothing appeared abnormal. On the narrow countertop was a small pile of items: a hand-sized leather-bound journal that looked very old and a small silk bag. On the top of both was a moon-pearl blossom. Kes knew that M’nacht loved those flowers. He picked it up. It had been cut that morning and still held traces of dew. Kes knew that the flower marked the small pile as if it had a sign with his name on it. He stowed the journal in his pack and the small bag into his vest pocket. His hand paused as he pulled out his little fossil. Somehow everything tied back to the little navorite he’d found in the Cradle. He started to slip it back in his pocket when his attention was suddenly drawn to the peepholes. Two men and a woman were silhouetted in the study’s archway. They were using hand signals to each other and carrying cudgels. His heart began to pound and he moved to check if he had completely secured the door. It was still open a crack. With gentle pressure, he closed it, but there was a whisper of a click. One of the men whirled and leaned into the room. From beneath an overturned chair, the little robo-cleaner hummed into view. The man swore under his breath but stepped into the room anyway. The other two silently followed. His heart was pounding as he peered through the hidden peepholes, watching the man get closer. Suddenly, Kes felt the air stir. There was a tang to the scent which reminded him of the sea. A heartbeat later, the hidden security closet was empty.

LOOK AT ME! Triangle of Hope by Michael Meyer #99c

Triangle of Hope By Michael Meyer

Triangle of Hope

Genre: Contemporary fiction/literary fiction
Feel-good contemporary fiction. Change is in the air.
Who knew that a chance encounter would change their lives, and the lives around them, forever? Three unlikely allies come together to take a selfless, courageous stand, and their world will never again be the same.
Clint Westerly has it all; that is, until he makes a fateful decision that turns his life upside down.
Tanya Wilshire has sheer determination to fulfill her mother's dying wish, although she seemingly has now lost the means to do so.
Seamus Harrington, eighty-four years of age, is determined to right an old wrong before it is too late, even though the odds are heavily stacked against him.
If you love feel-good reads with happy endings, then don't miss TRIANGLE OF HOPE, where "Meyer was masterful in weaving the story lines of the three main characters into a conclusion which was exactly what the title suggests...a Triangle of Hope." (Jon Colson)
"A book that will stay with you forever." (Wanda Hartzenberg)

His impending death hung in the air like thick smog, smothering everything in its path, obscuring a parade of ups and downs, the unevenness of thrills and chills that defined his life’s existence. It was eerie and scary, but also rather comforting, much like being in a warm bed on a cold night, like shivering while being filled with excitement at what was going to happen next. The news could very easily have been broadcast to those of his past and present, but he had made certain that all the speakers had been turned to mute. He had made the firm decision to meet his destiny without any chance of intervention by anyone. He was all alone in this, his final act.

COVER REVEAL: Looking Back from L.A. by M.B. Feeney
accompanying novella to It Started in Texas
accompanying novella to It Started in Texas Name of cover designer – The Graphics Shed
Edited by R.E. HargraveOfficial genre of book - Contemporary Romance/Rockstar Romance

It Started in Texas, but as we all know, “…Gage Charles Weston will not start something without thinking about the consequences.” In this companion novella to the story that started it all, get a peek inside Gage’s head and find out what he was thinking and experiencing while Charlotte was turning his world upside down and vice versa.

“The banter between the girls is hilarious, they have such a beautiful friendship even though they all live countries apart from each other but they support each other so selflessly” – Natalie M (Amazon Reviewer)
“M B just makes all of the relationships within the group work, they feel real, I totally wanted to be in there with them! All characters were so laid back and relatable.” – Stacey G (Amazon Reviewer)
“I love how Charlotte came across as a ‘normal’ person. This author has a great talent of portraying her characters as real and she rocked it with this story.” – Philomena Callan (Goodreads Reviewer)

Leaving the familiar comfort of her UK home for a weekend in Texas is one of the craziest things Charlotte Evans has ever done. Celebrating her birthday with friends is the highlight of her year until she bumps into her favorite rock star, literally.

Celebrating her birthday with friends is the highlight of her year until she bumps into her favorite rock star, literally.Gage Weston is used to having women fall over themselves at his feet … A rock star, an actor, he’s got his fair share of female attention, but what is it about the Brit that grabs his attention from the moment they meet?
Communication issues and crossed wires plague them as they try to work out what is going on with them across thousands of miles. Crazy friends and distance issues aside; can a relationship work, or is it a simple case of ‘a girl in every town’?

Below is an excerpt from R.E. Hargrave's genre debut, a horrific short story not meant for the faint-hearted, SLOTS:
Although Nolan had already told me what he’d seen, witnessing it first hand on the tapes had my guts flip-flopping worse than the buffet gods. With no audio we couldn’t hear what the man in black was saying to them, but I could see Taylor’s clear adoration with him. She was doing that finger twirl thing with her braid and laughing a lot. She also kept leaning into the guy... almost stumbling. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that something was very wrong about the whole scene.
Hope had always been level-headed and aware of things. I’d never not seen her in total control of her surroundings. Leo replayed the footage and I watched closely, noting how Hope became more relaxed, less alert, as she sipped on the drink the man had given her. Taylor was giggling and falling into the mystery man while Hope stood by, giving a half-hearted laugh each time.
Hot tears pricked at the corner of my eye when I watched them walk off screen. The guy was practically carrying Taylor while Hope followed behind like an unknowing puppy. I had no doubts whatsoever that he’d drugged the girls.
“Mr. Schwarz, I think we need to call the police. Right now, please.”

EXCERPT
I was probably going to die.I really shouldn't be surprised. After all, when you hunted evil, supernatural creatures, getting killed was sort of an occupational hazard. But I was good at what I did – really good. And I figured I was still going to die.I watched the Abassy, an iron-toothed man-eating demon, approach riding a dragon. The Abassy was seriously tough shit…and it only had one arm, one eye, and one leg. To make matters worse, its mount was a two-headed, eight-legged, two-tailed dragon. These things were supposed to solely be creatures of the Underworld so how the hell they had gotten out, I had no idea. I had been trying to banish them back, which, despite how powerful the Abassy was, should have been fairly simple. Only what should have been a pretty quick mystical banishment had turned into an all-out clusterfuck of a fight. I laid in the dirt that was slowly being turned to mud, courtesy of all the blood seeping out of my way-too-many wounds. I knew I was in bad shape when I tried to lift my left arm and couldn't feel anything on that entire side of my body. Breathing slowly in and out, I focused on the sweet musk of the earth all around me and ignored the prevalent metallic twang of all the blood (MY blood) that was every-freaking-where. Forcing myself to stand up…or at least stand hunched over, I decided to wait for the Abassy to make a move rather than expend energy in chasing it.Clearly I had caused some injury to the Abassy and its dragon since I could see that they limped towards me but, even with my enhanced vision, between the pitch black of the night and the dark skin of the creatures I couldn't see any obvious wound. I figured I had one decent attack left before my body just completely gave up. My right hand gripped the banishment crystal and I willed my left hand to curl around my dagger. The crystal was going to have to do most of the work so my best hope was to distract with the weapon – thankfully I'd had a semblance of foresight to bring an enchanted blade along, which should sting the Abassy even more, provided I could make direct contact. The Abassy stopped and we engaged in a Western-movie-type stare down. For a nanosecond, I almost felt like John Wayne. But before I had time to blink, it rushed at me. I didn't think, I didn't breathe. I stabbed blindly with my dagger hand and slid my right hand up towards the Abassy's chest, underneath the Abassy's stretched out arm, while twisting my body to avoid the dragon. Searing, jolting pain shot through my body as the Abassy's dragon clamped down on my right leg with two of its own. I heard muscle rip and felt bones snap. My world started to go dark – even I couldn't stay conscious after the vicious ass-kicking I had received.ABOUT THE AUTHOR

In fact, he's even beginning to believe the things they say about him. Chapple knows his playing days are numbered and the last thing he needs is to be stuck babysitting an American billionaire, Ian Dare and his wife, who are there to promote Dare's American football team's exhibition game in London.Elisha Sheppard is fairly new at being the Dare's scheduling assistant. She knows how important it is to stay professional and detail oriented at every moment. So why is Elisha letting herself be distracted by Chapple Palmer who she can guess is nothing but trouble, not to mention a heart-breaker? Why is she finding it so easy to say yes to his every invitation when her brain is screaming no?After a disastrous sexual encounter with Elisha, Chapple realizes that he's proved the truth in all the tabloid rumors. Why would Elisha even talk to him? How can he make it up to her? Chapple feels a connection with Elisha he hasn’t felt with a woman in a long time. If she’ll give him another chance, he'll prove to her that he's the lover she's only dreamed of. But can he also trust her with his heart?

In London with a Dare, their first sexual encounter is disastrous...Chapple wants to prove he can be the lover Elisha’s dreamed about. But this time, Elisha draws up a contract with the hot soccer player...“There’s much you owe me. You must pay the consequence of your behavior,” she said in a tone that demanded he follow her lead. “I’m all yours.” He took one step back and met her eyes. He extended his arms to surrender. “Good.” She smiled. “Now that we have an understanding, you need to cure my ache. Slowly, this time, the way I like it,” she added after a quick intake of air. “All right.” His low hearty chuckle told her he was game. Elisha lifted her hands to his rock-hard chest. She slightly dug her claws inward. Her tongue peeked out to wet her lips and she raised her eyes to meet his. She felt his hard swallow beneath her hands. “Any foul play, Mr. Palmer, will result in penalty. Or worse; suspension and it wouldn’t be for one game. Do you agree to abide by my contract and regulations?” His lips curved into a sexy smile. “Where do I sign?” “Right here” She reached for his hand and led his finger to graze along her lips. He moved forward. His lips met hers. She remembered the taste of him. He began with a soft tease against her mouth and then opened them with the tip of his tongue. Once his tongue had entry she moved her hands into that sexy mess of hair and pulled him closer to deepen the kiss. Her action created a deep moan. She took that as a signed deal.... .... Chapple kissed a trail down her neck, across her shoulders, breast, and then lower. She felt every hot inch of his heated skin, as he slid his hands and tongue over her. Elisha could barely pull in a shaky breath when he cradled himself between her thighs. “I’m liking these contract negotiations.” He pressed her legs apart and slid a skilled finger over her wetness. “Especially the way I can sign my signature. I’ve signed many autographs and contracts, but never one I’ve enjoyed this much.” He trailed his wet finger in swooping loops over her thigh as if to sign his name.

Chappell is a soccer player in England who is showing Ian and Riley Dare around and Elisha is their activity director. When chapel first sees Elisha he realizes that he wants to get to know her. They do get to know each other and have great chemistry. Will they be able to make it work even though they live away from each other. This was a great quick read. Another great addition to the dare to love kindle world Carly Phillips world. Also these are two more new to me authors.

✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯So I started this book, and didn't get too far in to it before deciding I couldn't stand the hero. Like, wanted to strangle him. But Chapple had just enough appeal to make me continue reading to see if he could redeem himself, and I am so glad I didn't give up on him (even when he pulled his BS, you could feel his remorse). Elisha is a fantastic heroine, who doesn't put up with anyone's crap. I love how she didn't give in immediately when Chapple was an @$. The chemistry between the 2 was crazy, and the sex scenes?? Omg. A fantastic read, by 2 new to me authors that I will definitely be checking out more of.

My eyes flutter open and I try to focus. There’s a face close to mine…I jump up and our heads bang together then I roll off his lap onto the floor. “Ouch! Shit!” I put my hand to my forehead.“Damn it, Skylar!” Jackson says with his right eye squeezed tightly shut and his hand to his forehead.“Why are you damning me?” I ask. “You’re the one who scared me half to death. What the hell are you doing here?”“Well, hello to you too. I’m doing fine. Thanks for asking.” He stands up and extends his hand to me to help me off the floor. I’m reluctant to grab it; it’s been fifteen years since the last time I touched this man.“I’m not going to bite, Skylar,” he says, flashing that sexy smirk of his. I see the dare in his eyes and I refuse to chicken out. Taking his hand, a current runs up my arm and down my spine. Before I can pay it much attention, he yanks me up from the floor. I stumble a bit and he pulls me in close to stabilize my balance. My hands grip his well-toned biceps and they flex beneath my fingertips. I gasp.

It is hard to believe that this is Ms. Leighton first book. Sky and Jackson characters were well developed. This is a book that you won't be able to put down. The story line captivates you from the first chapter and doesn't let you go.

✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ The first thing I have to say about this book is OMG what an awesome book this is. The book is a real page turner. I had a little bit of problem to get into the story but after a chapter, I was stuck. The books has everything you can wish for, passion, deception, betrayal, romance and suspense. The mix of everything makes this book so good and makes me emotional. I did feel so much when reading the book, I laughed and I cried. I must say that this book is very well written and when I found out that this is the authors debute novel I was surprised. It shows so much talent and I would guess this is written from some one who has a lot of experience. No matter what the book is so well written and you feel and knows that their so much time and effort put into the book. As a reader you feel it and you feel the art in every word. Samantha ran out of the house and down the driveway. The distinct sound of the front door pulling away from its frame, followed. “You can’t just pick up and leave! What’s wrong with you lately? Where are you going?” Her mother stepped onto the front porch, a frigid aura surrounded her. Samantha careened out of the driveway and away from her home. She entered Jericho Turnpike and maneuvered along the congested road, blasting the stereo. Despite the chilly evening, she rolled her window down, and the wind rushed in, whipping her hair onto her face. She thrust her head out, and sang so loud and dramatic, you’d think she was an escaped psych patient. Drivers stopped to look. A few honked their horns or danced along, but most tossed dirty looks. Jerks. She gripped the steering wheel tighter. Her mother’s words cut through her again. The daily insults and attacks, followed by the deliberate guilt trip for never being good enough, caused her eyes to lose their focus as they grew with tears. How much more could she do for that woman? Was she that much of a failure? Twenty minutes and five songs later, her ears frostbitten and her throat dry, she pulled into a small shopping center. Rob Roy’s Deli called to her. Her car smashed into one of the many potholes created from the never-ending blizzards and she rolled the window back up. She flipped the hood on her black sweatshirt over her head, instantly finding security in the armor. She slammed the door closed, kicked her car’s tire, and screamed. She refused to shed another tear. Rage tore through her instead. Tired of being nice and people taking advantage of her. Tired of always doing the right thing and being the good girl while other’s walked all over her. She was done. After exiting the deli with a big fat tuna fish hero, she yanked her car door open. The sandwich rolled onto the seat, the paper unraveled, and tuna fish scurried out from the suffocating and confining bread. She wanted to escape, too. Maybe hanging out with Cara and Eryn would do her some good. Try ‘sinful and scandalous’ for a while. Nice was getting her nowhere.

Victoria watched Heather crunch on each grape as if it were a Godiva chocolate truffle. Something she’d been doing all week. “What’s going on, Heather?” Heather’s eyes widened, then she glanced at her Styrofoam bowl. She looked back at Victoria and her face changed. “What is it? Something’s up, you’re too happy.” “I can’t be happy?” Heather sank into her chair. “Spill it.” Victoria dumped her spoon in her bowl, refusing to give in. Heather peered over her shoulders and then bent in leaving only six inches between her and Victoria. She opened her mouth, then shut it. “You can’t tell anyone.” “You’ve never kept anything from me in the five years we’ve worked together. And when have I ever repeated anything you’ve said?” Heather flashed a smile. “Okay, but...” She lowered her voice further until barely a whisper crept out. “I slept with Dr. Silvatri over the weekend.” Heather plopped back in her chair and winced. Victoria’s jaw plunged. The two of them studied each other. Victoria could not piece together the information. Sleeping with someone else? Cheating on Lance? Sure, she was miserable, sure he was an incredible ass, but she loved her daughters more than anything and to risk her marriage? For what? Some new doctor? Heather grinned like a child admitting she pulled the fire alarm in the school hallway. Victoria continued her silence. Was she upset with Heather? No. She was actually…intrigued. Curious. “Are you going to give me the details or what?”

She stepped back, but before Nicolo could throw it, a wave ripened and clobbered her. Heather’s head smacked into the sand. The crunch of her shoulder was the last thing she felt before the wave spun her. She attempted to stand, but before fully erect, another wave smacked hard, buckling her knees, and pushed her toward the sand. The taste of salt water burned her throat. Strands of hair coiled and blocked her vision. Heather struggled upward, unaware which direction she faced. A mounting wave walloped again. The taste of gritty sand in her mouth and the inability to see sent her into a panic. She coughed, spit, then pushed up on her palms one more time. She needed to escape. Now.Powerful arms swept her from the water's depths. With her toes flying over the foamy surf, Heather coughed and clawed the hair away from her eyes and mouth. Nicolo placed her on their blanket and removed the sand from her face. Her breathing adjusted and she opened her eyes. He blocked the sun with his hand. “Are you okay?” She sputtered. “Yes, thank you.” He brushed the suffocating hair off her neck, pushed it back over her forehead, then gazed at her, silent. His hand continued to stroke her hair, and gently caress her face. Droplets glistened off his skin. Waves of black, slick hair dripped with seawater and landed on her chest. Feeling his magical fingers on her, seeing his face this close to hers again, made Heather want to taste his lips like she had imagined so many times in the past.“You scared me.” He ran his finger down the side of her face to her chin. “Don’t worry, you won’t lose me again.”“Promise?”“Promise.” She smiled. Nicolo collapsed next to her on the blanket and snuggled in until the warmth from their arms merged. She tilted her head onto his shoulder, wishing he would wrap his arms around her. He rested his chin on top instead, and held her hand, squeezing it tight. Their eyes closed. School and work no longer occupied her mind.

I’m a registered dietitian/personal trainer who writes contemporary romance novels in my spare time. When weight lifting, rock climbing, white-water rafting, and jumping out of airplanes wasn’t enough, I decided to fulfill a dream I had as a child: to write a book. I’ve lived in New York my entire life and can’t imagine living anywhere else. I have the beaches, the bay and the city, all a half hour away. I’ve built memories here with my husband, two silly daughters and a bunch of crazy friends, all whom I love very much.

I’ve built memories here with my husband, two silly daughters and a bunch of crazy friends, all whom I love very much.
