WIP Wednesday: Old Friend

The humid scent of the nearby strait, the smell of fresh bread, and a blend of spices Vasil could not name came together to create a distinctive mix that felt both foreign and as familiar as an old friend.

Just like Altan. Pinpricks danced down Vasil’s arms and he slowed his pace.

Sneak Peek Sunday #8 A Kiss in Private…?

SneekPeekSunday copy

Sneak Peak Sunday is a blog hop where authors share a snippet of a book or work in progress. More snippets can be found by checking out the Sneak Peek Sunday blog.

This week, I’m sharing a snippet from a soon-to-be-released short story Slow Waltz (Coming May 7th from Loose Id). It continues the adventures of Rhys and Silas from Close Quarter.

In this snippet, Silas and Rhys are in an elevator…

Silas pushed himself off the wall. An instant later, he tilted Rhys’s chin up and his soft lips skimmed...

WIP Wednesday: Vasil’s Scars

Why couldn’t Altan have just let it be? Vasil still ached from the healing, from Altan’s kindness, and from the hot press of of the half-fae against his back and the man’s warm breath in his ear. Each was a pain that tugged at a different scar.

This week, I’m sharing a bit of a different snippet from my erotic paranormal romance Close Quarter, which is available now from Loose Id and other outlets.

In this snippet, Silas has gone off to do his job: Hunt the soulless on board the cruise ship. We’ve skipped a bit forward from last week…for it seems the soulless have also foun...

WIP Wednesday: Altan goes flying

An instant later, a knot of earth slammed into Altan, lifting him off his feet, and hurling him at the far wall of the kitchen.

Vasil’s desperate cry of shock and dismay echoed against the appliances.

Altan grappled with his own element, pulling and pushing at the air to stabilize himself. There was just enough room to change his trajectory so that he flew through the doorway to the living room. He threw his will against the momentum from the burst of earth, twisting and tumbling from the sudde...

Hometown Monday: The Strip and the River

Quite a lot of this blog has been about my writing. I thought I’d share some things about the place in which I live.

Right now, Pittsburgh is still in the grips of winter. But when it’s not rain/sleet/snowing out, one of the things I like to do is sneak out of work for a lunchtime walk. I’m lucky enough to work close to downtown Pittsburgh in an area called the Strip District. That’s a descriptive tag… the neighborhood is a thin strip of flood plain between the Allegheny River and a pretty lar...

WIP Wednesday: Snippet of Strong in Spirit

Vasil peered around the counter then made another note. “I’m assuming there’s somewhere I can buy cookware?”

“Of course. Istanbul isn’t exactly a backwater.” Once it had been the center of the world.

“Vasil snorted. “I meant close by. You’re lacking any sizable pot or skillet, and I hate cooking for just one.”

Except that Vasil would not be staying. A bitter knot formed in Altan’s throat. “Yes, of course. There’s a shopping district nearby that will have what you’re looking for.”

Vasil continued...

More Rhys and Silas: Slow Waltz

I just signed and returned a contract to Loose Id for Slow Waltz, which is a Rhys and Silas short story. I’m also hip deep edits from my editor for the story tonight.

If all goes as planned, it’ll be out on May 7th!
