Ancient Secrets!
Evelyn found herself in a dark slimy pit.
She looked around wildly but knew she was alone. She stood up; trying to feel her way around, then heard a low rumbling sound.
Evelyn screamed and it echoed. The sound reverberated and seemed to bounce back on the thin walls. Sobs racked through her body at her desolation. Wherever she was, her destiny was worse than before. She felt a tremor, looked down at her feet, and saw a big opening on the floor. There was a cracking sound and the ground slowly divided into two. She found herself flying to the other side of the pit and when she looked up; the sun was streaming down into the pit.
Surprisingly, a chain materialized from nowhere spinning towards her direction. She grinded her teeth in anticipation as she grabbed the chain but it was so hot it burnt her palms and she screamed out in pain and released it. The gaping hole on the ground was now closing together, Evelyn knelt down and peered inside it as flames of fire spurted out and suddenly, a creature came out of the flames.
He was a very good-looking man.
His hair was dark and curly; his eyes brown and his skin was a bronze like colour, a white robe covered his body.
”Come and I will lead you out of this place but there will be a covenant between us.”
Evelyn stared at the creature and at her surroundings, she had no recollection of how she got into the pit but she did remember her daughter, Caroline. She wanted to get back to her as soon as possible.
”I will do anything, please just get me out of here.” She said desperately; hope lighting up her entire being.

Hey friends, this is an excerpt from ‘The Feet Of Darkness,’ I hope you like it. One thing I’ve realised about life is this, there are so many ancient secrets lurking beneath the shadows, all around. Look at the Ohio Kidnap - how can three women be held against their will for ten solid years! It defies explanation but that’s how cruel life is…
Here’s a link to the novel if you’re interested.

You Can Be The Light!
When darkness seems to engulf all around you.
You can be the light
When your heart beat rapidly like a Banjo drum.
You can be the light
When all thoughts of courage are far between.
You can be the light
When hopes, seems to fade into oblivion.
You can be the light.
In the midst of gloom and despair.
You can be the light
In the midst of darkness and tyranny.
You can be the light.
When you are the light,
your life, and path are secured.
Many times, I’ve looked to others to do something about a situation or things I find appalling, and when I realise nobody is willing to do anything, I step in! I’m generalizing here. Aptly put, what I’m trying to say is this, we can make a change… Things can get better if everyone puts in their quota to make this world a better place. Just a kind word, a smile, little coins here and there, can actually make a huge difference.
Have a pleasant, stress free weekend everyone… Here in the UK, we’re having a long weekend, there ‘s a bank holiday on Monday! (wooohooo!)
Live well dear friends.
Much love, always!

The Peace In Forgiveness…
In Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland, Eliza‘s eyes brimmed with tears as they took his wife away, that was the last time he saw her and his heart broke into a million pieces. His six children were taken to another part of the camp. The German officer glared at him with hatred, and pushed him roughly to the crammed dormitory housing hundreds of malnourished prisoners. Eliza knew the end has come, what could he do?
Nothing.
But his eldest son survived the holocaust…
Can his son forgive?
In Congo, Joseph ran wildly through the forest, the stomping sound that the feet of his pursuers made was like the sound of hell. They’d hacked his family to death, the only member of his family who escaped was his youngest daughter, and he feared for her life. He ran for dear life and miraculously, he escaped. Seven months later, he was back to his village, there was nothing left. His daughter had not been found. What could he do?
Nothing.
Can he forgive?
Laura fought off the huge thug who pinned her down the soft grass in the park, his foul breathing on her face. She tried and fought so hard but he beat her mercilessly and had her, over and over again. He dumped her like a rag doll after he finished. There were bite marks on her face - that man had molested her… She was just twelve years old.
Her family was distraught….
Can they forgive?
Can Laura forgive?
Can she forget?
Yes… All these people can forgive. And you can too – And I can. Forgiveness releases you from the pain, the hurt, the anger and the bondage. It’s not easy but it can be done. Through the help of God!
Much love dear friends.
Have a great day, and a beautiful May (should be in a couple of hours, I guess)

Your Face!
What’s in a face you may wonder.
The face captures the essence of the soul.
Your face is like the gate-keeper of your destiny.
It defines who you really are.
Your eyes draw people to you like magnet.
Your nose sniffs out success.
Your lips tastes life.
Your teeth sustain you!
Your cheeks impact on your glory.
It puffs up when you’re full and shrinks at your lowest ebb.
Your face is permanently yours.
You can’t divorce your face.
You’re stuck with it!
You might BOTOX it.
Plum it up.
Try to redefine it.
But you can’t go on holiday without it!
You can bleach it white.
Or darken it with suntan creams.
But it’s forever yours!
Your face is beautiful.
Your face is a mystery!
It’s the mirror to your soul.
Take care of your face guys… it would be with you for eternity!
I saw a man today on my way to work, my eyes locked with his for a brief second and we connected briefly. The man’s face stayed with me throughout today. He was an old man, probably tending towards eighty but he looked happy. I couldn’t help thinking of the kind of life he’d lived to that moment when we passed by each other like breeze on a country side. The writer in me sprung to life and when I got home, I penned this words. I hope you like it!
Much love to you my friends!

No Secret Ingredient
I watched this interesting film on Saturday, ‘Kunfu Panda.’ (It’s a great film, the story line is simply awesome!)
What really struck me about the film was when Po‘s dad told him something which really caught my attention. This duck dude, who was famed for his special noodles said,
‘There is no Secret Ingredient!!!…To make something special you just have to believe it’s special.’
Everyone thought Po’s dad had a secret ingredient which made his noodles tastier and different. But he simply believed in himself and his ability to make a great noddle.
You just have to believe in YOURSELF, your marriage, your friends, your job… Yeah, your job!
Self belief and self-confidence is not being cocky, or damn too sure of yourself. It is having the belief that you can scale greater heights… and succeed.
If you feel you’re worthless, believe me – you are, and why is that? You’ll start behaving in a worthless way, doing things that makes you agree with your thought processes! But the good news is – because you FEEL something doesn’t make it right! You can actually change your thinking! You can rise above your self doubts and lack of confidence.
And I think it’s really simple.
Every morning when you wake up, look in the mirror and say,
‘I can do anything I want to do today!’ (Positive things!)
And believe me, you can, when you believe!
Have a great day everyone!!
Much love, always.

Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful!)
I am eternally grateful to everyone, for your love and heartfelt wishes towards me! Like the pretty little girl in this picture, she is loved. You will know by the robustness of her features, and though, her loved ones are not in the picture, she is confident in their love for her.
That is how confident I am in this blogging community! You guys are ever faithful, hence, the title of this post.
Thank you!
This is truly from the deepest part my soul. I appreciate each and every one of you! Events of the past few days, was one of the most lowest points of my life – but life goes on. My friend was buried today and I have a hope that we’ll meet again, someday. His family is also coping well and we all have that same hope, that we’ll see him again – I believe in life after life.
My prayers also goes to everyone involved one way or the other in the Boston tragedy… It’s always sad when such bad things happen… There are still several bad people in this world but that should not stop us from living well and loving well. Events are wrapping up, with one of the suspected bombers down. My prayer is that the wicked will not have peace, except, they change their ways!
I have missed everyone I would have blogged earlier than planned but things kept getting in the way. I know I must have missed a lot of cool posts, I promise to read and read and read. That is one of the greatest assets in life – reading! I’ll visit all your beautiful blogs and drink deep from your wells of wisdom.
Much love… Always!

Vapours In The Wind…
Your smile stayed glued to my brain.
Your laughter echoes through my mind.
Your voice stayed with me as I pen this words.
Life is like vapours in the wind, so fleeting, so quick.
You spoke a few words this morning,
You even smiled amidst your pain.
And then you breathe your last!
My heart trembled with shock.
My tears were hot on my cheeks.
It was so quick dear friend.
You left too early.
My fingers ache.
Sleep….
I’ll be taking a week’s break from blogging. A very dear friend of mine died this morning, and in respect to him and his family, I’ll stay away for a while. Life is fleeting I know but when you love someone dearly and they leave when you least expected, its shattering. I’ll be back next Friday.
Live well dear friends, love from me to you!
Always…

Kramer’s Witches!

Examination of a Witch by T. H. Matteson, inspired by the Salem witch trials (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
I’m writing this in view of a post I read yesterday about the recent death of Margaret Thatcher where one blogger called her a witch. My post is NOT based on the former prime minister but on why women are prone to being called witches, whether they are one or not.
I don’t want to start a debate about witchcraft, whether it exists or not nor whether you believe in God or not. Again, let me reiterate another fact, I don’t want this post to be long, so I’ll try to cram everything in as quickly as I can.
I watched a program recently on National Geographical channel (the few times I now watch TV) where Heinrich Kramer, an infamous witch hunter purportedly wrote ”The Malleus Maleficarium,” in 1486. Heinrich changed the thinking of generations of people in Europe and it’s alleged that over 60,000 innocent women died based on his ‘how to’ manual in capturing a witch.
‘Such graphic figures,’ you may exclaim but it’s true! Women were burnt at the stake based on the views of one eccentric man, a man who believed he knew it all. Many times, we’ve maligned people unjustly and unfairly (I’m not excluding myself from the bunch) We’ve all done it one time or the other and I think it’s fair to say, we’re not perfect.
Heinrich Kramer is dead, but he left a horrible scent of his evil journal, one wise woman said, ‘there is good in us all, we only need to look deeper.’
I hope we can find truth in those simple words.
Thanks for reading my post.
Much love, always!

An Old Man’s Tale!
Level Crossing at Barnes (Photo credit: Manic Street Preacher)
I sat down quietly at home today when a friend of mine told me this story and I decided to write it down word for word. She said she read it somewhere but it was too good to pass on! Enjoy:
An old man was driving back from town with
his wife continually providing unwanted
advice from the back seat. When they arrived at
a level crossing, the car stalled halfway across the
line, just as a train came roaring towards them.
”Move you idiot!” screamed the man’s wife, ”Get
the car off the tracks!” The old man turned and
calmly replied, ”You’ve been doing all the driving
from the back seat, and I’ve got my end across – see
what you can do with yours.”
It’s sad that some women are extremely controlling, I saw the funny side of this story, did you?
Thanks for reading my post!
Much love friends!

A Writer’s Friend!
Writers are artists, they either write for people to read or just write because they love to. In this digital age of publishing, some writers are clueless on how to promote their books, it’s a different terrain and it could be daunting. I belong to the school of writers who write for a living but would continue to write regardless of the money factor.
I can’t call myself a great publicist, it’s funny but I could be shy, not always but sometimes. You can also describe me as a hermit who rarely venture outside unless it’s absolutely necessary. Work, home, church, take kids to school, work, back home, dinner, write and write and write!
My life is so predictable but I love it! I’m so glad I got that out of my chest!
Now, where am I going with this you may wonder? Well, I have decided to promote a couple of my friends who are writers. They’ve done the same for me, so I’m basically reciprocating their good gestures. Writers need other writers as friends, writers need readers as friends and I guess we can do this one step at a time, as my husband used to say, ‘a single tree cannot make a forest.’ And I think he’s right.
Today I’m going to feature Charity Parkerson, an award-winning author (she’s won several awards, most of her books are on one bestseller list or another)
Here she is:
Charity Parkerson!
The Book Cover!
Blurb:
Their love was legendary, cursed, and forbidden.
The fates conspired to keep them apart, but destiny will bring them together again…
When one of their own becomes the target of a demon bent on revenge, the Society will do anything to keep her safe, including stealing a God from the Heavens.
Heru, son of Geb, once sold his soul to forget her, and now he’ll give anything to keep her safe.
Gods and Demons collide in the final instalment of Charity Parkerson’s award-winning “Sinners” series.
Excerpt:
“I dreamed about you last night.” Heat flooded her face at the confession. She knew it must be the shade of a strawberry, but she lifted her eyes to his, holding his stare steadily, as if daring him to mock her words. For a moment, she could have sworn a look of triumph passed over his face, but it was gone as quickly as it appeared.
“What was the dream about?”
Marissa had thought that it was impossible to be any more embarrassed than she already was, but at his question, she discovered a whole new level of humiliation.
“Um,” she stuttered before admitting, “I don’t want to tell you.”
“Oh,” he crowed. “It was that kind of dream, was it?” While his eyes were shining with mirth, her face was on fire, and she really wanted kick him.
“Shut up,” she hissed.
“Ever as you command,” he said, but she could still hear the laughter in his voice.
Fanning her face, Marissa practically danced in place in her discomfort.
“Are you having some sort of fit?” Adriana, Marissa’s mom, asked, slicing through her mortification.
Marissa had not heard her approach and she shot a nervous glimpse at the tree line to find Harold gone.
“I was attempting a spell.” Marissa answered Adriana’s question absently while searching for any sign that Harold was still hanging around. When her mom remained silent, Marissa glanced over to find her watching her closely, and she pasted a fake smile on her face in order to ease her mother’s obvious concern.
“Okay,” Adriana said, drawing out the word and sounding as if she didn’t believe her, which was a spot-on observation, since Marissa was lying.
