Mystic Author Signing & Giveaway

Since I moved to New England, I've always wanted to visit Mystic, Connecticut, especially because of the movie, Mystic Pizza. Living here, you'd think it would be easy, but life is always sending you in other directions. The Mystic Author Signing made this happen!

So this past weekend a few of us converged onto Mystic and got to really experience the town. I loved being a tourist in the Mystic Seaport, from the window shopping to actually shopping, to watching the drawbridge go up and eating lunch at Mystic Pizza - I had the best time. Coupled with a very nice event and gorgeous weather - the weekend was a total win. 

I also had a very nice travel companion - my sister-in-law, Tori. This was her first, and I have a feeling not her last, signing. I'm trying to break her in easily with the smaller one before I unleash the fury of a larger signing.

I've been working on a few things these past few months with one being the continuation of THE REEDUCATION OF SAVANNAH MCGUIRE - the novella that came out last summer in AMERICAN HONEY. Tyler & Savannah's story is now complete. 

I've also been working on MY KIND OF FOREVER - The Beaumont Series #5. This story is about Liam & Josie, and will finish off the series. I will, however, continue on with the kids, Noah, Quinn, Peyton & Elle.

NYC Recap & Giveaway

Signed Sexy in the City tote bag up for grabs! Details below! This past weekend we were in NYC for the Live the Hype Author event!

First stop - Good Morning America to see Ed Sheeran! This meant I had to alter my plans a bit and leave a night early. Aside from construction the drive down was easy going, although with no traffic it seemed to take a long time. I was bored!

3:30 am came early! We got ready in record time and hailed a cab for the short trip to where the concert series is held. Thankfully, it was between 65-70 out (yes that early) so we didn't freeze.

After waiting and waiting, and waiting some more we were finally moving and seated. We opted for the nosebleed bleachers (slight exaggeration on the nosebleeds) as they were the best seats in the house. No one taller in front of you or pushing you from behind. There was enough of that while we were in line - apparently the no pushing rule doesn't exist anymore.

Our tickets said show starts at 7:15 and ends at 9. Well I stupidly believed Ed would be playing most of that time. Instead, we were graced (forced) to listen to a comedian of sorts as he tried to get the crowd hyper.

Ed comes out and rehearses 3 songs and leaves us! The collective moan reverberated from the stage crowd to the bleachers.

The USA Women's Soccer team was there! Go USA!!

But as one didn't suspect - this was a live viewing so we had weather, commercials and more of the above mentioned comedian!

We were told not to cuss during the songs due to FCC guidelines and I wanted to be like Eminem and break all the rules.

After the concert was a mandatory stop at Tiffany's. Hello first class service! I had to pick up a necklace and while we were waiting we were offered coffee, tea or water by a nice man in a tux. Everyone there is very accommodating (except for one grouchy old man running the elevator). One major downfall of Tiffany's - I expected a nicer bathroom. I thought you'd walk in and be wow'd.

Of course no trip to NYC is complete without visiting FAO Schawz and saying goodbye to Zoltar and the giant piano!

And like any tourist, stops to food carts were had, Times Square where creepy people dressed as babies made lewd gestures and the Empire State Building. It was a gorgeous day to see the New York City skyline.

One highlight of my weekend was finally meeting Laura Kaye! I've followed & read her work for so long - I had a slight fan girl moment!

Sunday was spent in Central Park doing a photoshoot and aside from the humidity, it was another gorgeous day. We made it back just as it started to rain.
