More Changes to the Blog Ahead
I’ve been blogging for a few years now and the old blog is doing well. As technology continues to improve so do many other things. Like WordPress Themes! Yes! It’s time for the blog to get a new makeover.
I’m doing this for two reasons.
I found a really cool new blog design that includes a page builder and other cool features.
I’ve been creating a new site behind the scenes that lends itself to the new blog style and I want to integrate the two sites seamlessly. I’m going to create a fabulous author site (stealing all I can from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s website).
The new layout will also allow me to make more uniformed blog posts that are eye catching and fun to read. Interviews will have the same format as well as character posts. It will make doing prompt challenges more fun and exciting… I hope!
I’m still learning the new theme but I think it’s going to be the last update for a very long time. Watch for the changes soon! Like real soon! I totally can’t wait to make the changes.
Here is a link to the Theme’s Live Demo

New on the Blog for 2014
Happy New Year!!!
One of the most influential things I use to shape my writing is writer’s prompts. I’ve written and entire story using them and used them to start my first novel. They make your brain work in wonderful and sometimes weird ways and that’s a good thing.
This year I am going to create fun and interactive writer’s prompts using pictures, words and hopefully participation from my readers. Even if you are not a writer, your comments will shape the stories resulting from these prompts with surprising and sometimes humorous results…. we hope!

Chapter 34 – Fun – Beyond Pacifica
The day warmed up to be quite pleasant. Delphina convinced Ian to join them on a little excursion away from the house. Kyran piled everyone into his rented SUV and they took off down highway one. He stopped at a donut shop and everyone got their favorite for breakfast. Pedro had two and the sugar high had him bouncing in his seat. They continued driving for an hour toward Santa Cruz and when they found the beach and the boardwalk came into view Pedro got excited…

Chapter 36 – Strangers – Beyond Pacifica
Delphina woke as sunlight filtered through silk curtains over the large picture windows in her bedroom. She thought of turning over for another few minutes before thoughts of her new assignment surfaced. She bounced out of bed and made her way to her private washroom. She emerged a half hour later, her hair still damp and pulled back in a messy ponytail. She dressed in khaki shorts and a cotton top for her assignment and strapped on her hiking boots. A knock sounded at her door. Del hoped it was not her father back for another round of arguments. She opened the door in a huff to a strange man. He smiled widely and in one swift moment had her in an embrace, his lips pressed hard against hers. Two seconds later, he found himself flat on his back, the air whooshing from his lungs…

AND! I’m brainstorming a new series. Each chapter will be a letter of the alphabet, A-Z
I’m thinking zombies but am open to suggestions. It could be unrelated flash fiction or a serial or creative non fiction.
Leave a comment and give me some suggestions!

And Here is my submission. Sorry, I got creepy…. I get creepy alot!!!
Nicole expected darkness and a chill of evil in the air. Her dive into the mind of a serial killer looked like any other mind she’d attempted to reach and alter. Sunny skies and flowered meadows filled her vision. Even the smell of honey suckles wafted through the summer air. She anticipated his dreams to be of death and gore; of faceless victims in pools of blood, not this. She saw her quarry sitting by a pond, feet dangling in the cooling waters and fish breaching the surface to snatch small crumbs of bread as he tossed them. He sat with his back to her, and he seemed to be at peace.
Nicole concentrated on her vision and rotated the scene. The pond slid right and turned. Her perspective altered, placing her over the water with a clear view of the killer’s face. It shocked her. The face of the man before her looked contorted in agony. He shook his head as if trying to wake from the dream; no, the nightmare. His eyes sweep the landscape until they fell on her. She gasped. He shouldn’t be able to see her. Their eyes locked and the killer smiled.
A chill swept over Nicole’s skin and the sky turned dark. She watched his eyes as they bore into her like a dull knife but she couldn’t turn away. The water beneath her began churning in an angry boil. Azure water turned crimson and the stench of death assailed her nostrils.
She felt his pull on her. He seemed closer yet he didn’t move. Her body floated across the death filled waters below until she stood trembling before him. Nicole reached for her failsafe device just as a blade pushed through her flesh. She clicked the failsafe button but nothing happened. A fatal shift had occurred. They were no longer in the serial killer’s nightmare. They were in hers.
