RIP Zane Gray Thomas - The People Whisperer
We lost our sweet Zane to bladder cancer. He will be tremendously missed by us.
In honor of my beloved baby, here a famous post from his blog The People Whisperer
PEOPLE PEEVES
What are People Peeves? They are the little things people do to annoy their pets, like pet peeves!
So Here are My Top 10 People Peeves
Half a cookie! What is that?! It's just enough to leave you wanting more. We need a whole cookie please!Turbo belly rubs. This could be one of two things. Either it is a quick belly rub that ends before it gets started, or the motion is so fast, you get a rug burn on your belly. Slow down! We need a long luxurious belly rub. This also works for butt rubs.The Bathroom Door . . . also known as the mystic portal. Where do you go when you go in there? You disappear. We know you are trapped and we can't reach you. Leave the door open for your own protection! This also holds true for the Shower Curtain (the wet mystic portal).Baths. Do you know how long and hard I worked to smell like this? All the rolling in poo and dead things; the pungent orders . . . Gone! in one evil cycle of lather, rinse, repeat!The Vet. Don't bother trying to spell it, I can sense the word and know when the car is turning toward those thermometer happy people. For my own good you say? Whatever helps you sleep at night! :o(People food in the form of peas or beans. You didn't eat them, and I'm certainly not going to eat them. You got lucky with the carrots! I will continue to push them around my plate until all other items are consumed. Have fun cleaning the dish!Trying to make me do tricks in front of other dogs. Sure I do them for you, I get treats, but in front of other dogs, I look like a trained dork. I have a rep to protect. I don't want to be last in the butt sniffing line. Cut it out!The Vacuum. I bark because I know evil when it comes by sucking up everything in sight. Danger, danger, that thing will suck you up into oblivion and who will feed me then? Heed my warning about this evil contraption!Peanut Butter. It's a blessing and a curse! I'll just leave it at that.Rain. I don't have to go that bad! But if you would just turn the water works off, I'd be happy to "do my business" as you say. I know you can make it stop, it's just a cheap way to get the dreaded bath thing done, isn't it?
Ok that's my list! You pet's people peeves may be different from mine but we all have them. I hope my Mom reads these!

Writing Prompts – Creative Copy Challenge #250:

Continuation . . . There is only darkness now. My memory of light launched into the gloom above. Fear, uncertainof the affects of my antidote, I am lost. Sounds of scratching, digging, above and at the entrance of my haven. The foreign sound of thunder rattles. I hope. The moans of undead strangers fill my ears, closer, more. Those above reach me first, slick hands grabbing, pulling me toward them. Shrieks rise as the rains fall. The gloom has decoded my message, my cure. I don’t struggle, I cannot escape. One brilliant flash of light in the sky, zap! Perhaps too late. I see the attackers, circle, dark eyes, no pupils, just black. A savage bite tears into me, black eyes sneer with greed. My identity, my eyes dim, but light touches them. Sun, killing the gloom. Rain spilling the cure and black eyes, changing, understanding, mourning.The End/Beginning
So I'm thinking of making a short out of these post. Not sure yet, just tossing it around.

Finding Monsters!
After driving across the country from California to South Carolina, I found a pleasant surprise waiting for me...
Received Proof copy today! Soooo excited!Working frantically to get ebook version released this week and paperback ASAP.
Thank you too everyone who left a comment regarding the cover!
I'm so excited about getting my proof but not sure I can make my Oct 9th release date. I am going to take it slow and hope to release my debut novel in ebook form next week after I thoroughly examine the proof. Holding the actual paperback in my hand is one of the most awesome of feelings.
Stay tuned for updates on my progress.
