Do you buy the paperback if you liked it on the Kindle?

If you enjoy a book you read on your Kindle, do you buy the paperback? Or have you ever purchased the Kindle version because you loved the paperback?

Do you still love the printed page?

After years of resistance my family gave in and purchased a Kindle. I've been pleasantly surprised that I enjoy using it now and again...but my first love is still the printed book.

There's something about the way a page feels under my finger when I turn to the next one that the cold glass of technology can't replace.

What are your thoughts? Have you completely transitioned to e-reading? Do you split your time between devices and printed pages? Or do you avoid electronic books, period?

Explaining who a character is?

I've been re-reading books from my favorite series and was wondering what others think when this happens:

In the 3rd or 4th book, the author brings in a character who played a not-insignificant role in previous books. The author then proceeds to explain who that character is and the role he or she has played in the series.

I find that this pulls me right out of the story...does anyone else feel the same or do you find it to be a helpful reminder?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Matt
