So, a friend and I were re-reading Nat20 and we were wondering: how did Quirrel brute-force the chess room with Ron *if he has to take the place of one of the pieces*?

You mean, if Quirrell has to take the place of one of the pieces? I think he’s a savvy enough guy/amped up with enough dark power to survive being taken out by a giant rook every now and again. The unicorn juice probably helped.
