Women may be more affected by shiftwork than men

Women may be more affected by shiftwork than men:

Makes some sense, because we probably evolved with Males hunting in twilight, and females gathering in daylight, but I bet there is a difference between women that have given birth and those that haven’t.

nuforc:

The UFO Home is an architectural concept developed by the Italian company Jet Capsule for “off-the-grid” living. The home is eco-friendly, with the energy coming from solar panels placed on the roof. The home can gently and slowly drift through the ocean if desired, reaching up to a speed of 3.5 knots.

A bedroom, play space, bathroom, and shower is within the submerged part of the home. A large viewing panel is also below the surface, so the family can observe the ocean’s beauties and wonders.

Inside the top of the home is a kitchen and a dining and living area. The home also has a patio surrounding it’s orb shape, where solar panels, wind turbines, and a vegetable garden are neatly arranged.

Brilliant, but what if you capsize? I mean it has no keel, so if it inverts, it will probably stay inverted.

The Soccora Incident

On April 24, 1964, several witnesses in different parts of Socorro, New Mexico, reported different sightings of the same event. Some saw a low-flying object in the sky, some heard loud sounds reminiscent of the takeoff and landing of a powerful craft. But one man swears he actually saw it land and that it could only have been an alien spacecraft. His name was Lonnie Zamora, and it was such an astonishing encounter that it distracted him from the high-speed chase he had been engaged in when he first caught sight of the craft—at the the time of the sighting, Mr. Zamora was an on-duty Socorro police officer.

No one has ever really explained this one. High School prank, ball lightning, dust devil, and mistaken daylight sighting of Canopus have all been suggested, and then debunked. They would have gone with swamp gas, but New Mexico is far too arid for anyone to buy that.

Is it time to reconsider the keyboard pants?

Why isn’t the keyboard lower? You know so you could cross your leg and have a natural typing position, rather than fondling your own crotch and punching yourself in the groin when you hit space?

If Earth had Saturn’s Rings

From an excellent post by Jason Davis

From Washington, D.C., the rings would only fill a portion of the sky, but appear striking nonetheless. Here, we see them at sunrise.

From Guatemala, only 14 degrees above the equator, the rings would begin to stretch across the horizon. Their reflected light would make the moon much brighter.

From Earth’s equator, Saturn’s rings would be viewed edge-on, appearing as a thin, bright line bisecting the sky.

At the March and September equinoxes, the Sun would be positioned directly over the rings, casting a dramatic shadow at the equator.

At midnight at the Tropic of Capricorn, which sits at 23 degrees south latitude, the Earth casts a shadow over the middle of the rings, while the outer portions remain lit.

@jiruchan

I love this so much! And slightly off-topic, but here’s a VERY good video of how it would look like if Saturn flew past us.

So all we need is to spray water off the moon, right?
