That’s weirdly effective. And definitely distracting me from writing… If only I was inside it…

Chupacabras are the hypothetical creatures blamed for a recent series of cattle mutilations in South America. In the past decade hundreds of cattle have been found mutilated across Brazil alone.
Often the cattle are found to have had huge amounts of blood drained from their bodies but other signs include the removal of the jaw, tongue or anus in startling similarity to cattle mutilations in the US.
To the Tune of La cucaracha…
El chupacabras, el chupacabras,
What an unlucky little goat;
El chupacabras, el chupacabras,
Its gonna get it in the throat.

Okay, so I really don’t know what to call this. It’s not even tabs to have open. It’s just a /small/ list of useful sites and things to use while writing or to have open. I have a huge list of rp resources but at times it’s tedious to go through a huge list.
So i’m gonna try to keep this short to list only important things or whatever. But I also suck at keeping things small.
also this is the most informal summary i’ve ever written.
Great useful sites…

Star Wars virtual reality experiences are coming this year — courtesy of Lucasfilms, Industrial Light & Magic, and Skywalker Sound.
Are they going to be better than 3D movies?

John Berkey’s cover for “Jupiter,” a scifi short story collection published in 1973 while Pioneer 10 was still en route to the gas giant. Berkey’s style is instantly recognizable and his evocative paintings are almost short stories themselves. Click the image for a better look.

An untethered miniature origami robot that self-folds, walks, swims, and degrades has been created by a team of the department of informatics, Technische Universitat in Germany and the computer science and artificial intelligence lab at MIT!
Unfolded, the robot has a magnet and PVC sandwiched between laser-cut structural layers (polystyrene or paper). When placed on a heating element, the PVC contracts, and where the structural layers have been cut, it creates folds - so this is how the origami part works. Kelsey Atherton in Popular Science, said, “Underneath it all, hidden like the Wizard of Oz behind his curtain, sit four electromagnetic coils, which turn on and off and makes the robot move forward in a direction set by its shape.”
The authors also wrote such autonomous ‘4D-printed’ robots could be used at unreachable sites, including those encountered in both in vivo and bionic biological treatment. read more here
Now I’m seeing swarms, floating down on a disaster zone like a helpful blizzard.

Australian artist Nick Barclay has a knack for creating minimalist portraits of cities, cocktails, and even movies.
His latest project is characters from the original Star Wars trilogy, as told in three colors. The end result is an impressive abstract breakdown of a dozen iconic key figures in science fiction film.
Beautiful and bizarre.

Alzheimer’s Origins Tied to Rise of Human Intelligence: Factors that drove the evolution of our intellectual capacity are also implicated in the memory disorder
by Nala RogersAlzheimer’s disease may have evolved alongside human intelligence, researchers report in a paper posted this month on BioRxiv. The study finds evidence that 50,000 to 200,000 years ago, natural selection drove changes in six genes involved in brain development. This may have helped to increase the connectivity of neurons, making modern humans smarter as they evolved from their hominin ancestors. But that new intellectual capacity was not without cost: the same genes are implicated in Alzheimer’s disease.
Kun Tang, a population geneticist at the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences in China who led the research, speculates that the memory disorder developed as ageing brains struggled with new metabolic demands imposed by increasing intelligence. Humans are the only species known to develop Alzheimer’s; the disease is absent even in closely related primate species such as chimpanzees.
Tang and his colleagues searched modern human DNA for evidence of this ancient evolution. They examined the genomes of 90 people with African, Asian or European ancestry, looking for patterns of variation driven by changes in population size and natural selection” (read more).
