Plotting a plot

Simple yet interesting topic that was covered at the Joint Statistical Meetings this week.

So what is the best way to choose a plot?

If regression, do we chose a line?

Or survival, a curve?

Would that be just fine?

Perhaps the scientists working with Randy could these use.

When and how to best catch Anton to him to show.

But such a choice may not be as simple as it seems.

And now you are in the know.

And since the Joint Statistical Meetings were in Chicago, here is a picture of my hometown[image error]

Nomogram poem!

What is the chance?

Anton finally will be caught by Randy?

If we know the predictive variables,

The results could be dandy.

So here we are again with the nomogram,

With lines that could tell a different story.

Get the correct predictions,

So in the end, we won’t be sorry.

Just like the dancing dog is not sorry – till next week!

Resampling Poem!

Say, the casting of Randy had begun,

But do we choose Ryan or Justin or John?

Well, if we could pick one randomly,

What does it say about the studio’s family?

But right now, we have equal chances of one out of eight,

Picking either of these fellows would sure be great.

But if one cannot do it, but yet again, changes his mind,

We put him back and re-sample again of the same kind.

Yeah, still screenwriting so hmmm … what do you think?

Kaplan-Meier Poem

Randy’s still on the go,

To catch Anton in another realm,

D’oh! Another miss!

What to do at the helm?

One more miss and so,

The curve goes down,

But we may yet find Anton,

So smile, no need to yet frown.

Ooh … conditional probability poem

So what do we give A,

What is that you say?

May it depend on B?

Then it’s conditional, you see.

And what shall we do then?

We can determine an event and when.

And we can even introduce an event C.

And that could be another key!

Kinda like a key Randy can use to access the Multiverser??  Yeah, I’ll work on that.

Meta analysis poem!

So we have some studies from the past,

We wish to know if those truths will last,

A meta analysis will tell us what to pursue,

In which direction to go and what to do.

So if Randy wants to find a direction next?

Where to call, where to text?

He can look to previous results for a trend.

In hopes of getting Anton at the end!
