Wild For You Cover Reveal

We're going back to MONTANA!

I don't know if I can really describe with words just how freaking excited I am about this whole situation. Like, if I could squeal and hug you and jump up and down, I totally would.

LOOK AT THIS COVER!! Actually, look at both of them! These are the cover images for WILD FOR YOU, the first novel in my brand new Wilds of Montana series, and I have no chill!

Okay, here are the details:
Release Date: January 30, 2024
Cover design: Hang Le
Photographer (couple cover): Madison Maltby Photography

Remington Wild is a single dad of two adorable kids, and as the oldest son of the Wild family, has recently taken over the Wild River Ranch from his father. Life is crazy, and he’s finally willing to admit that he needs help, and the sooner the better. He has no idea that the beautiful woman he sees every day at Bitterroot Valley Coffee Co. is the woman who would show up for the job.
Erin Montgomery couldn’t get out of Seattle fast enough. It’s not that she doesn’t love her big, loud family, but living in the big city just wasn’t for her. The minute she stepped foot in Bitterroot Valley, she knew she was home. She loves the slower pace, the friendly people, and her job at the coffee shop. Even the smoking hot grumpy guy who stops in every afternoon can’t put a damper on how much she loves small town life!
Thanks to car trouble, and her stubbornness when it comes to using her trust fund, Erin needs a second job and applies for the position of a part-time nanny. She’s surprised to find that it’s Grumpy himself who answers the door at the ranch, but Erin quickly learns that she loves his kids and the ranch, and it’s a no-brainer to take the job. She just has to remind herself to resist the sexy rancher and keep it strictly professional.
Remington is attracted to his younger nanny, and finds himself falling headfirst in love with her. He and his kids have never been happier, and he knows she is the perfect addition to their family for as long as she’s willing to stay. Hopefully forever.
But when secrets are exposed, one of which endangers his children, will their love survive? Or will it tear them apart?

The Stand-In Excerpt

“Why is it,” I demand as I stomp up the steps to the second floor, speaking loudly, “that during the summer, you’re up before the birds and demanding breakfast, but during the school year, you fight me like crazy every single morning?”

I stomp into my son’s bedroom and press the button on the wall that opens his curtains, letting the dim November light into the room.

“Come on, Caleb Rome Ambrose, you need to get up and get ready for school. We’re already going to be late.”

“Tired.”

My gorgeous ten-year-old rolls over and pulls the covers over his head.

“Too bad.” I rip the covers off him, grab a foot, and start to tickle him.

“No! Stop! I don’t want to go to school!”

“You have to go to school.” I release the ankle and then pull him to his feet, giving him a squeeze. “Go on. Get dressed. You’ll have to eat breakfast in the car.”

“Why can’t it be Saturday?” he groans as he stomps into the bathroom and slams the door.

“Don’t dillydally! I mean it, buddy. We have to go.”

“I’m coming,” he says from the other side of the door. Hearing the toilet flush and the water come on, telling me he’s washing his hands and brushing his teeth, I make my way back downstairs to finish packing his lunch.

It’s already been a crappy morning. I slept through my alarm because I was up into the wee hours of the morning, making my way through my email.

I didn’t even get halfway finished before I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer.
My toaster oven gave up the ghost, but not before burning my English muffin first, and when I pulled the milk out of the fridge for cereal, I found that it had expired.

If this is indicative of how the day is going to go, I should just call in sick for both Caleb and me and enjoy the day with him.

But responsibility weighs heavily on my shoulders, and I know that we both have places to be today.

So, work and school it is for Team Ambrose.

“Where are your shoes and socks?” I ask when Caleb makes his way into the kitchen. “And you didn’t comb your hair.”

“No one cares if my hair is combed,” he says with a negligent shrug.

“I care. Buddy, we are so late. Please get your socks and shoes on.”

“Fine.” He stomps to the mudroom, and I can hear him shuffling around in there.
“I would give my kingdom for a kid who’s a morning person.”

“I am a morning person,” he replies as he returns to the kitchen. “Just not when I have to go to school.”

“Don’t you like school?”

“It’s fine.” He shrugs again and accepts the foil-wrapped breakfast burrito I pass him. “But why does it have to be in the morning?”

“Good question. One I don’t have an answer for. Come on. We need to get our shit together and get out the door.”

“You said shit.”

I stop and close my eyes, counting to five. “Yes, I did. And please don’t say it again.”

“Why can you say it, but I can’t?”

“Because I’m a lot older than you, kiddo. Come on. Let’s go.”

He always moves slowly when I need him to hurry.

When I see that he’s buckled in, I put the car in gear and back out of the garage, then head for the school.

We have to wait for the gate to rise at the entrance to the neighborhood, and after waving at Harold, the security guard, we’re off.

“Mom, what did you study in school? You know, in the olden days?”

“It wasn’t that long ago,” I reply and give him the mock glare in the rearview, making him giggle. “I studied the same things as you. Math, spelling, reading. The usual stuff.”

“Weird.”

God, I love this kid. No matter how my day is going, he can always make me smile.

“Here you go,” I say as I pull up to the drop-off spot in front of the school. “If you hurry, you’ll get in there just before the bell.”

“I forgot my lunch.”

I sigh and close my eyes again.

“Are you going to say shit?”

“Maybe.” I wave him out of the car. “Get hot lunch today. There’s money on your account.”

“’Kay. See ya.”

“Have a good day. Be good. Love you.” It’s the same thing that I say to him every single day.

“Love you, too, Mom.”

After breathing a huge sigh of relief that I got him to school on time, I drive over to the football team’s headquarters. As part owner of the team, I’m not required to keep an office there or stay abreast of the day-to-day operations of the team. But I enjoy it. I’ve learned a lot in the few months that Rome and I have owned the team, and I enjoy being in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

I used to keep my office at home, but that was lonely. Isolating.

Depressing.

I can do most of my work from my office at headquarters, both for the team and for the other companies I head. Getting dressed in business attire, slapping on makeup, and doing something with my hair makes me feel productive.

And, so far, no one has had an issue with me being around a lot of the time. Not that they’d tell me if they were against it. I am the boss, after all.

I pull my Mercedes into my parking space, and as I walk to the elevator, I lock the car behind me. I’m only running a few minutes behind the time I usually get to the office, so given the way this day started, I’m not doing too poorly.

To my surprise, the elevator stops on the second floor, and a sweaty, sexy Drew Montgomery walks on to join me.

“Ms. Ambrose,” he says with a terse nod.

“Coach.” I smile over at him. Drew is the one person on staff that I’ve had trouble winning over. He’s not rude, but he’s not warm and fuzzy either.

I don’t plan to stop working on him.

“I had a new idea for uniforms,” I inform him and have to press my lips together so I don’t laugh when that scowl forms between his eyebrows. “What do you think of sequins?”

“Like I said, yes—sequins?”

“Sure. I thought it would be pretty on the field, all the twinkling and such.”

His mouth twitches.

“Don’t look now, Coach, but I think you’re about to smile at me.”

He inhales and lets the smile come before glancing over at me, and the impact of that smile, with those intense blue eyes, is almost enough to knock me off my axis. I know I’ve only met two of the Montgomerys, but based on Will and Drew, the family is gorgeous.

“I trust you had a good workout?”

He glances down at his sweaty shirt and then nods. “A grueling one.”

“I should take advantage of the facilities here sometime. I never use the stationary bike I bought for my house. Isn’t that always the way? Spend a bunch of money on workout equipment and never use it?”

“It’s your facility,” he replies. “You should take advantage of it.”

I nod in agreement. “Please be sure to let me know if any of the equipment needs to be replaced or updated.”

“Okay.”

The elevator stops at his floor, and he walks out. “Have a good day.”

Just as the doors close, he turns and offers me another of those grins.

When I’m alone, I pat my chest.

“Coach Hottie McHotterson is what they should call him,” I mutter, and then step out of the elevator when it stops on the top floor.

Salem's Song Preview

Wanting to see for myself that Lorelei is healthy and whole, I walk toward her cottage. As I stride down her driveway, I see her standing at the edge of the shoreline, staring out at the bay.

That’s not unusual for her. She is a sea witch, after all.

But the way her hair blows back from her face when there is no wind to speak of makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. I pick up my pace, eager to get to her.

“Lora.”

I say her name a couple of times, but she doesn’t acknowledge me.

Finally, when I lay my hand on her shoulder, she blinks and turns to me, confusion in her pretty green eyes.

It’s just like it was the other day when I approached her as the wolf.

“Oh, hi.” She swallows and frowns. “Geez, I’ve been so nauseous lately. Every time I come close to the water. It’s the weirdest thing.”

“What were you looking at out there?”

“Huh?” She blinks up at me and then looks back out at the water. “Oh. I heard the music playing again. Did you hear it?”

“No.” I watch her closely and brush her curly, auburn hair over her shoulder. “No, I didn’t hear it.”

“Odd. I’ve been hearing it a lot lately.”

I don’t like that. Not at all.

And I have some research to do before I talk to her about it because I’m afraid it’ll just scare her, and Lorelei has been afraid enough to last a lifetime.

“What are you up to?” she asks.

“I just came from your mother and Hilda’s house.”

Her eyebrows lift in surprise. “Oh?”

“They invited me over for lunch. And wanted to grill me.”

“About what?” She walks over to a fallen log and sits, gesturing for me to join her. So, I straddle the driftwood and face her.

“About Beltane. I guess they wanted to play therapists and make sure I’m doing okay.”

“That sounds like them.” Lorelei grins and nods her head slowly. “Yeah, that sounds exactly like something they’d do. What did you tell them?”

“That I’m fine.”

She narrows her eyes, examining me. “And are you? Fine?”

I shrug a shoulder and look out at the harbor and the bay beyond. “I will be. Eventually. How are you?”

“Physically, I’m recovered from that day. Have been for a while now.”

“Spiritually? Emotionally?”

She bites her lower lip and fiddles with a piece of tourmaline she’s pulled from her pocket.

I’m glad she’s carrying the protection stone with her.

“I’m still a little bruised, but I think that’s to be expected. I suspect you’re the same.”

“Yeah.” I scoot closer to her on the log and take her hand in mine, the tourmaline pressed between our palms. She stiffens at first but then relaxes and grips my hand in hers. “We’re going to get through this. All of us. And once we’re on the other side, this will all have been a really crappy year that we can be thankful to move on from.”

“You think?”

“I know.”

Blurb:
I’m a sucker for pretty things. Give me a roaring engine in a supped-up vintage muscle car with cherry red paint and brand-new leather interior, and that’s about as pretty as anything I could ask for. I’m a simple man, who doesn’t need or want the kind of wild celebrity that my father has. I restore one-of-a-kindvehicles and sell them to the highest bidder. Usually, that bidder just also happens to be a celebrity.
But no matter how often my cars steal the spotlight, staying out of it is my number one priority.
Which is why Sydney Sterling is absolutely out of the question.
She’s a country music superstar. She’s in the spotlight. People can’t get enough of her.
It doesn’t matter that our one night together was hotter than a full throttle muscle car, or that she’s the most incredible woman I’ve ever met.
I. Need. To. Stay. Away.
And I was doing a great job of just that until our friends set us up on a blind date, and now here I am, sitting across from the only woman who made me want more. How am I going to handle the fact that the rest of the world wants her almost as much as I do?
And do I even have a choice in the matter?

Two Year Anniversary in this crazy life...

November 7th marks the two year anniversary of Come Away With Me being available for sale. It's only been two years, and yet so much has happened. My life is completely different from where it was that day that I first pressed publish.

I've since released eight more books and three novellas. I've hit the New York Times and USA Today lists. My books have been downloaded (by LEGAL means) more than a million times, and have been translated in a half dozen languages. I've been able to travel the globe. I've worked with one of the top publishing houses in the world.

I met Nora Roberts and have been invited to return to Boonsboro, MD in February as a signing author.

And you know what the kicker is? The icing on this incredible cake? Because what I've just listed is so amazing, so crazy, that I can't even believe it's happened to me. But it gets better.

So much better.

The best part of all of this is the people I've met. The talented authors, the dedicated bloggers. The loyal and wonderful readers.

You see, I've been given such a gift in all of this. As trite and cliche as it sounds, my dreams have come true, AND, the relationships I've forged during this journey are ones that will be life-long, and I can't imagine my life without them.

How damn lucky am I to rub elbows with the likes of Jennifer Armentrout? To take vacations with Laurelin Page? To be able to call Alice Clayton or Christina Lauren at a whim, just to chat? To have Jay Crownover say to ME that she was nervous when she first met me and she loves my books?

Seriously?

But it gets better.

The bloggers who have been with me from day one, and they know who they are. There are too many to name individually. They are voracious in their passion for my work. They believe in me so completely and are so loyal to me, they make me feel safe. Cared for. Respected.

Cherished.

I can never thank them enough for having my back, for promoting my work, for agreeing, every single time, to help me even before I've given them even a sample of my work in progress so they know what they're representing. They simply jump on board, because they believe in me so much. There are times that that seems... overwhelming. I mean, it's a lot of pressure. But it's also great motivation to keep working, to continue honing my craft so these amazing women who stand behind, and next to, me are proud to be here.

Thank you. So much.

And then... I'm telling you... it gets even BETTER.

I've met thousands of readers at this point. I'm lucky to be able to attend signing events through out the year to meet and say thank you to those of you who love my stories. It's always so damn fun, and it never gets old. Not for one minute. I've said it before, and I maintain that I have the best readers in the world. You're smart, funny, sexy, loyal. Fiercely loyal. You make me smile. Sometimes you make me cry, but only in the best of ways. You never stop surprising me with your dedication and enthusiasm for my stories.

Thank you. For reading, for talking about the books with each other. For all of your gifts and letters. Thank you for never giving up on me.

This journey has only started. My career is still a young one, and I have so much still to learn. It's been the best education of my life. Every day is an amazing day. I love every minute of my job, and I never plan to stop. I'm living my best life.

xoxo
Kristen

Let's talk books...

Hello, friends! I’m unusually reflective this evening, as I prepare for all of you to have SEDUCING LAUREN in your hands on Tuesday. This is the second book in the LOVE UNDER THE BIG SKY series, and as I’ve said before, this is one of my very favorite couples of all of my books. And that’s saying a lot because choosing a favorite is like choosing a favorite child. It’s impossible. But while I’m super excited for Tuesday (and, if the truth be told, I’m as nervous as a whore in church too), what I’ve been thinking about tonight is reading.Because at the heart of it all, I’m a reader.I don’t believe that I can be an effective writer, an engaging writer, a learning writer, without also being a reader. And, let’s face it, it’s my first love. There’s nothing better than getting lost in a story. When the words are magic, and you’re sucked into a world you didn’t even know existed, with characters who quickly become friends. I want to root for the characters. Cheer them on, hurt for them, cry with them. And when it’s over, I want to try to flip the page to read more, stunned to discover that I’ve reached the end.Already? In the past few months there have been some books that have done this for me. I’d love to share them with you.
An author that I just discovered this year is the amazing Jill Shalvis. This woman can write the hell out of a love story. I devoured all of her Lucky Harbor series, Animal Magnetism series, and every other book she’s ever written in the matter of about two months. I couldn’t read them fast enough. Jill is a master at what I love most; the family/small town saga. Her heroes are simply sexy, alpha deliciousness. Her love scenes are H-O-T. If you haven’t read her before, DO NOT WAIT! Start with the beginning of a series, any series, and dig in. She will delight you."Where did that flashlight come from?" Chloe asked.
"My purse."Chloe looked at Tara. "She carries a flashlight in her purse.""For emergencies," Maddie said, trying to see into the yard."You have any chocolate?" Chloe asked hopefully. "For emergencies?""Of course. Side Pocket, next to the fork." — Jill Shalvis (Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1))

A book that left me with a naughty grin and begging for more was SWEET FILTHY BOY by Christina Lauren. It’s no secret that I adore their Beautiful series, and the first in the new Wild Seasons series, and featuring the delectable Ansel was… EVERYTHING. Funny, sexy, heart-wrenching. Did I mention sexy? So damn sexy. The first five chapters had me in stitches, laughing until I thought I was going to pee myself. It’s utterly charming. I adore Christina Lauren. The talent in these two women is staggering. They also have a YA Paranormal book releasing in a couple months, SUBLIME, as well as more from the Beautiful series and the Wild Seasons series. These women are BUSY! "You should see him with his shirt off."
Ansel rocks on his heels, sipping his drink. "Please continue as if I'm not here. This is fantastic."
— Christina Lauren SWEET FILTHY BOY

Another series that I devoured like it was carrot cake (I really love carrot cake) was the Marriage to a Billionaire series by the amazing Jennifer Probst. This series is just… Wow. Romantic, and sassy. Sensual. Sexy as hell. Again, Jennifer does a great job writing a family saga. One of the reasons that I write in this style is because I enjoy seeing the characters from pervious books, to see how they are, what they’re up to. I’m nosy as hell. And I love this series so much. These will be old friends that I return to over and over again. He closed the distance another tight inch. Her breasts pressed against his chest, and her nipples were hard little points stabbing out of the scarlet material, begging to be freed. Her breath came in ragged gasps, her perfume swamped his senses. He grew hard, and her eyes widened as his full length throbbed against her leg in demand.
“I’m calling your bluff, baby.” Pure shock registered on her face as he removed one hand from the wall to casually unbutton his shirt, slide off his tie, then grasp her chin with a firm grip. “Prove it.” -Jennifer Probst, The Marriage Bargain (Marriage to a Billionaire, #1)

An author that I recently fell in love with is Marie Force. This lady also writes a family saga like a master. Her Gansett Island and Green Mountain series are just spectacular. You will fall in love with the fictional towns that the stories take place in, as well as the quirky, sexy characters she creates. Marie will rip your heart out. Her characters face such real, painful obstacles, and she expresses their emotions so clearly, so flawlessly, you will be caught up in every page, cursing Mother Nature when you have no choice but to pee and eat. I lose myself in Marie’s stories, and always plan to settle in for a long, happy read. ‎"I think," she said, tipping her head to give him better access, "that at least once in a lifetime, every girl should be pressed up against a wall and kissed stupid by a sexy man."
— Marie Force

An author that I’ve loved for decades, and began rereading this year, is Lori Foster. If you’ve never read her, please do. She writes one hell of a sexy man. If there were any heroes that I wish were real, it’s Lori’s men. These guys… they make you swoon, smile, bite your lip and hold your breath. They make you laugh and squirm and want to slap them. They’re infuriating. And absolutely wonderful. I love that many of Lori’s heroines are not the stereotypical size 2, perfectly gorgeous supermodel. They’re real women, with insecurities and sass and flavor. And their men love them FIERCELY. The lust and passion is out of control, my friends. Two of my favorites by her are TOO MUCH TEMPTATION and NEVER TOO MUCH. The heroes in these books are brothers, and they will leave you with wide, happy grins. “I want sex. Hot, wet, grinding sex. I want a woman who’s willing to give me her body, in any way I want it. But until I get everything else squared away, that’s all I want. No commitments. And God only knows how long that’ll take.” ~ Noah Harper

And finally, my own personal idol, Nora Roberts. I could go on and on for pages about why I love Nora’s work, but I’ll just talk about two of her series that I’ve already reread this year. The first is the CHESEPEAKE BAY TRILOGY, about four very different, yet all very sexy brothers and how a family tragedy brings them together, and ultimately each one to his soul mate. I’ve reread this series many times over the years. I have signed paperbacks that are well-loved, and retired on my bookshelf. This series is the very best family saga I’ve ever read. It’s about loyalty, integrity, doing what’s right even when it doesn’t feel good. It’s about falling in love with not just a partner, but with a family, a town and the people in it. Cameron, Ethan, Phillip and Seth are forever in my heart. The other series by Nora that I’ve been reading is the GALLAGHERS OF ARDMORE trilogy, JEWELS OF THE SUN, TEARS OF THE MOON and HEART OF THE SEA. These books are set in Ireland, and while I read them, I can smell the sea, see the deep green hills and old ruins on the countryside, and the inflection of the Irish accent is simply beautiful in the dialogue. Nora does an amazing job of absorbing everything about the country into her prose, making you believe that you’re right there with those characters. I also love the story of the centuries-old tale of a Faerie Prince and his true love, and the spell he cast on them. The whole trilogy is simply magical.
"Please let me go.""Anna." He lowered his brow to hers. "Don't ask me to do that, because I don't think I can live without you. Take a chance, roll the dice. Come with me."
— Nora Roberts (Sea Swept (Chesapeake Bay Saga, #1)

And, there you have it. This is what I’ve been reading. I enjoy a true contemporary love story. I want there to be obstacles, but at the heart of it, I want to watch the couple fall in love. I want to see why they’re attracted to each other, and I want to watch that attraction grow. I want them to get angry, but never give up. And at the end, I always, always want a happy ending. Because in these love stories, the love is the most important thing. It’s important to me that there’s a place I can hide where everything really is okay in the end. The guy always gets the girl. There is happy ever after.Always happy ever after. Kristen
