I am a lifelong avid reader with a passionate love for a good story, be it fiction on nonfiction. As a kid, I loved genre movies-westerns, gangsters, horror-because the story was king with those kind of flicks, same with comic books, another life long passion. After years of reading, I decided to try my hand at writing the kind of fiction I enjoyed and learned there is no greater satisfaction than to labor on something you love and then discover others find pleasure in it as well.

I read the book decades ago now, but his description of an America where a superflu has wiped most of the population is so vivid, and so horrifying, that it totally drew me in a way almost no other book has ever done. James Gunn's Superman: My review.

I always try and avoid early reviews for superhero and comic book films, preferring to go in cold and without any preconceived notions. That is what I did for James Gunn’s eagerly awaited reboot of the SUPERMAN franchise, and I’m glad I did. I liked Gunn’s work on the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY franchise, but a little less so for THE SUICIDE SQUAD, and I will hand Gunn this, he knows how to make a co Read more of this blog post »

You Like It Darker by Stephen King
"This book is the most recent of King’s works that I’ve read. It’s a collection of short stories, many focusing on older characters, possibly reflecting King’s own thoughts about aging. Many of the stories are focused on more realistic horrors than su" Read more of this review »

Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman

I am not a regular reader of John Grisham, as Stephen King is more my speed, but having spent some time in Biloxi, Mississippi, as a kid, I was drawn to read THE BOYS FROM BILOXI, a novel set back in the days when that Gulf coast town was notorious f ...more

The Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham
"It pains me to give John Grisham a ONE star review. I've enjoyed his legal thrillers for decades. I didn't care for this one but I enjoyed the narrator of the audio. He had a knack for voices.

So what went wrong? I'm still trying to fully answer that" Read more of this review »

The Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham
"3.5 stars, rounded down
I have often praised nonfiction for being written so that it reads as easily as fiction. But this is the first time I can remember reading fiction that read like nonfiction. It took me a while to suss out why I felt that way. B" Read more of this review »
