valentines day giveaway: why do you love paris?

Every time I look down on this timeless town

whether blue or gray be her skies.

Whether loud be her cheers or soft be her tears,

more and more do I realize:

I love Paris in the springtime.

I love Paris in the fall.

I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles,

I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles….

paris-blog-give-awayHere’s the easiest blog giveaway ever. With just one week until Valentine’s Day (and with not a moment to spare!), I’m giving away this sweet little book, Paris in Love by Paris photographer Alison Harris.  Alison’s images of the banks of the Seine, Paris’ secret gardens, café terraces, and mots doux scribbled on walls by anonymous taggers beautifully capture some of the many reasons why I love Paris. But what about you?

To win a copy of “Paris in Love” by Alison Harris, all you have to do is:

1. Leave a comment on this post telling me just one reason why you love Paris.

2. Follow me on twitter and tweet the following : “I just entered the “Why Do I Love Paris” giveaway on @parisianparty: http://bit.ly/11K0JIv

3. Like my Facebook fan page :

5. Comment on any other blog post of your choice on my site.

The book will be mailed (via La Poste) to anywhere in the world, so you don’t have to live in Paris to play along. The winner will be drawn randomly on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 10:00PM Paris time.

Feel free to spread the word. Thanks for playing along, and thank you for reading my blog!

a fun & funky winter wedding inspiration shoot in paris

L-O-O-O-V-I-N-G this sweet video of the  highlights of a recent winter wedding inspiration shoot in Paris pulled together by the fabulously talented Nessa at La Mariée Aux Pieds Nus. Warning: You’ll be whistling this tune for the rest of the day!

[There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed. Visit the blog entry to see the video.]

Now if watching that isn’t enough to get you to chuck it all in, grab your beau by the hand and hop a plane to get hitched in Paris,  Nessa is also one of the masterminds behind Love, Etc.- (the ONLY Paris wedding show that matters, IMHO) which is happening this Saturday from 10:00 - 7:00PM at La Cartonnerie.  Many of the vendors from this shoot will be strutting their stuff LIVE at Love, Etc.- so you won’t want to miss it!

art deco meets rock and roll: harriet wilde rmw shoe collection

Heads up, people! British footwear designer Harriet Wilde is bringing studs to the wedding world!  They’ve just launched a collaboration with Rock My Wedding-  a collection of 4 exclusive stylish wedding shoes sold only through RMW and Harriet Wilde.  First up is “Industrial“, a sweet, nude kid suede peep toe featuring a studded Art Deco inspired fan design- these little gems are bridal shoes with rock chic attitude!

Add to that, ‘The Blue Soul“-  aptly named as it features a blue leather sole. Inspired by the pretty button details on wedding dresses, each shoe features the detail in a line on the back of the shoe and heel, available in either pearls, studs or Swarovski crystals.

These styles are available only through Harriet Wilde and RMW online boutique, and quantities are limited, so if you love them (and you know you love them)- you’d better grab them. Oh, and they ship worldwide. Rock on, les filles!
