First royalty check…I feel so legit!

So I looked it up and ran all the reports.

861 ebook copies sold/freebie-downloaded (mostly downloaded during the 5-day-free period being exclusive with Amazon)

10 Printed copies (but they’re not counting me, since obviously I’m my best customer lol)

Total royalties – $23.25

I had no delusions that I would make a muthafuckin’ dime off this book.  It was more to satisfy my need for being judged (not really) and a promise I made to myself in my teens, granted I’m about 8 years late on that.  I wrote a book, published it, bared my soul…and I’m ok with it.  How many people can say they did that?  Baring your soul – meh, people do that on facebook every day.  (Self) publish a book?  Yeah, I did that.  It’s kind of a neat feeling.

BOOK 2 NEWS

Well, I’ve decided that Book 2 is now Book 3 since there is just too much to tell in between and I don’t think I have near enough clout to get someone to sit down and read all that in one book.  So book 2 and book 3 will be coming out together EARLY SUMMER.  So be on the look out for that.

Thanks again, everyone!

Mother-in-law approved!

My mother-in-law called about my book.  At first I didn’t send her a copy because, honestly, I didn’t think she’d like it.  But she demanded I send her one, so I did – nervous, of course.  I sent it off last weekend and she just got it.  She called me like 5 mins ago and said she read it straight through.

“Oh you read it?  Really?’

“Well, of course I did.”

“Did you…uh…like it?”

“Well, let me put it this way – you’re going to write a second one, right?  Cuz that’s a cliffhanger.”

=D  My mother-in-law is cool!

Lissa Matthews Blog feature – Tuesday Jan 22, 2013!

I’m being featured on Lissa Matthews blog tomorrow (Tuesday Jan 22, 2013)!  I’m a little excited!!

Biography

Living in North Carolina, talented, multi-published author, Lissa Matthews, has many loves in her life: Family, friends, NASCAR, football, music of all kinds, cooking, BDSM, and last, but not least, coffee. She loves it so much she and those who know her are surprised she hasn’t floated away on a caffeine-induced cloud while giving life to feisty heroines and hunky heroes.

Lissa’s love of romance came from every book she has ever picked up. No matter what she read, she fell in love with the written word. The promise of escape, the deep, intriguing characters, and the winding journey from beginning to end, constantly drew her into bookstores and libraries as she was growing up.

Her first stories were written in junior high and she kept it up through college. She would stay up late at night when her kids were little reading romance and still penning her own stories. In 2007 when she and her family moved to North Carolina from Florida, she began pursuing writing as a profession and she couldn’t imagine doing anything else… Well, except maybe writing in her own cupcake bakery/coffee shop. But that dream is a ways down the road… Lucky for Lissa, she believes in dreams coming true.

Lissa is married with two children and seven, yes, seven cats. She’s blames her oldest child for the cats.
