As a swim meet announcer for my daughter’s swim team, I have witnessed many fantastic moments. In 2019 I announced a meet that had 230 female swimmers compete in the 50 meter freestyle. There were 12 ties (swim exact same time) in the event, and in one of them, three swimmers had the exact same time. Yet the effort for each of these swims was unique. Different dives into the water, and nuances of stroke technique.
There is more than one way to do it right. This helps us feel more comfortable with experimenting, and testing out our hypotheses. A looser grip on your latest idea.
