Lessons Learned
Time has a way of getting away from me. While I've been trying to promote Duke by Day, Rogue by Night, and learn to balance promotion, blogging, giveaways, and guest appearances (like the one I attended at the Southern Magic Readers' Luncheon in Birmingham, AL), I'm also dealing with family life and work issues. Sometimes, the whole process is simply exhausting. But don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. I'm just trying to be the best at everything I do. Why? You guessed it. I'm one of those perfectionist personalities. And boy, does that ever lead me to the end of a plank sometimes. ;)
I've discovered that a debut book takes a lot of energy because the only way to get recognized is to put your name and face out there as much as possible. It's all about name recognition, which is why I chose stress bones as my go-to promo item. With a name like Bone, you can't go wrong with this idea. LOL! (Hey, go with it. Pirate!)
So my quest is to figure out how to balance family, work, and writing in a way I can satisfy the loved ones in my life, and my readers, while finishing the next book and the next book. The Rogue's Prize is due by the end of the year, which means I've got to haul 'lots of pirate treasure' to the cave. Then I begin work on the 3rd book in the series, Redeeming the Rogue, which I hope will reach readers by next October. I've got a full plate, especially with the addition of my first contemporary Lost Treasure, Captive Princess, coming out in July 2013. Not to mention another grandchild due at the beginning of the year (#3). Don't you just love it? <3
Life is crazy wild and I'm eager to face the challenges coming my way. Why? Because they are all awesomeness! I'm alive and breathing. I'm healthy and I've got people around me who love me! I've spent years and years dreaming of the day my stories would reach you, dear reader. And as my dreams are finally coming true, I want to be the best at what I do, no matter what that is. Perfectionist personality? I claim it! But know it's all for you and the stories I hope will bring moments of joy into your lives.
For your pleasure, I give you the link to my very first book trailer. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. (Shiver me timbers, I get goosebumps every time I see it!)

Well, I'm off to claim my lot in life. It be filled with mischievous adventure, me hearties. Wishing you all safe and calm waters!
Blessings,
Katherine
