Have you seen my sexy fireman?

Picture Yesterday I released Ethan Reid on the world.

What do you think? Do you like my sexy fireman.

Although I had no say in the cover image, I think the designers at Etopia Press did a great job.

And to celebrate the upcoming release on the 2nd of November, I am giving away an ecopy of Sneaking a Peek. Click here to enter.

...right into the arms of the hottie next door.

When Tarney lets out an ear piercing scream from her front yard, Ethan drops everything to rush to her aid. The bonus to his good deed is finding out that the woman of his dreams has been secretly stalking him while he exercises.

The timing has never been right for Ethan to make a move on his kid sister’s best friend. The timing now isn’t any better, but he’s sick of waiting. For years he’s sat on the sidelines, watching men come in and out of her life. Tonight nothing will stand in his way. Not even the complication of his failed love life. Tonight he will take a chance on Tarney and hope he doesn’t ruin their relationship forever.

Spying may have been innocent, but the aftermath is anything but…

Swag Ahoy

Picture I love to design and make craft. So one of the things I've been looking forward to is making some great swag.

Today the postman delivered my first batch - Halloween Heat V!!

I have tiny book cover cards, postcards with the book information on the back, a notebook and two different sized posters.

*whispers* Awesome.

I'm a little giddy to see my name in so many places and think I may even lay it out on my bed and roll around for a little while, who knows, I may even share some.

What do you think??

Book Tour - Guest Post: Ten reasons why Alyssa Turner loves to write menage

Picture Picture
10. Two plus one equals lots more fun.

9. The same reason I always opt for the combo pack.

8. I’m good at multi-taking and so are my characters.

7. Because king sized beds were clearly meant for three people.

6. Men are like chips, it’s hard to have just one.

5. You can never have enough eager mouths ...

4. or other body parts.

3. I’ve always admired good teamwork.

2. If one guy is acting like a dick, you always have another one.

1. I’m mostly positive it’s something I’ll never actually do in real life ... mostly ...
fairly positive ... I think. ;-)

On a serious note, I adore writing and reading ménage because a trio of caring and
committed people is a beautiful, if not lofty concept that makes me believe in the potential
for unselfish love. I enjoy crafting characters that struggle with the challenges inherent with
polyamorous relationships and the journey that’s necessary for each character to find their bit of
paradise within the threesome. In ménage, sex is indulgent by nature. And who could deny that
doubling up on pleasure is a real turn on? My heroines swim in the thick decadence that two
tongues, four hands and dueling cocks can only serve up. When I write ménage the affects are
the same as when I’m reading one. I’m transported into a world where taboos be damned, I can
have my cake and eat it too.
Nothing brings me more joy than to hear my fans say that they appreciated my story for
its realism as well as its heat. It’s the complex dynamic a third brings to a relationship that has
me hooked. I’ll still write m/f and even the occasional f/f or m/m, but trios, quads and more will
always be my first love.
Get a taste of my style with my story Thrills and Chills one of five featured shorts in
Halloween Heat V, Etopia Press. Every one of them is perfect to keep you dreaming in threes.
Special thanks to my co-author Eden Summers for letting me pop in with my ramblings. And a
big shout to my other co-authors, Vristen Pierce, Jennifer James and Ana Maria Pasion.

It pays to stay on the right side of the law...

Picture Anyone who follows me on Facebook or Twitter will know I had a girls night out on the weekend. I don't get out often, so  when the planets align and I get a night without the kids I don't hold back on the celebrations. It started with fishbowls at a local Mexican restaurant. Yes, the drink is bigger than my head and yes, I was completely off my face by the time I finished it. I'm not a seasoned drinker, so it doesn't take a lot for me to get tipsy... or completely smashed which was the case at the time.

To cut a long drunken story short, we drank and danced until we were ready to drop. When we decided to call it a night, we headed outside to wait for one of the husbands to pick us up. Now this is where the drama begins. One of the ladies I was with tends to think she's invincible and above the law when intoxicated. So when we walk outside and see six police officers mingling she starts working her big trap.

"Police office, this lady touched my naughty place."
"Cuntstable (and yes, that is how she pronounced it), you need to frisk this lady, she has drugs."

The list goes on. Now for as long as I can remember, I've always been the angelic faced princess who never gets in trouble. I've never had a speeding fine, nor a parking fine. I haven't been involved in a car accident. I'm as sweet as sugar and innocent as pie. So when one of the officers gets the shits and storms over to us, I'm completely blown away that he looks at ME, and starts demanding I show some respect.

My hubby is a fireman. I have never, nor will I ever disrespect a policeman. I respect the work they do and appreciate how they put their lives on the line to protect others. So I'm sitting there, taking the blame for something I didn't do, wondering where the hell my sweet innocent face has gone, while the culprit plays on her phone, ignoring the whole situation.

"You need to show some respect. We don't appreciate those sort of comments. We put our lives on the line for you and one day you might need me to help you out."

Apparently I didn't look as shocked as my internal dialogue suggested because his next comment was, "Do you think this is funny? You need to wipe that smirk off your face."

What the hell! I was smirking? It seriously must have been the alcohol putting the inappropriate look on my face because on the inside I was shitting a brick.

"I think it's funny because I didn't say a word, yet I'm the one getting in trouble." I replied.

And yes, I was thankful when he acknowledged his mistake and turned his eyes to my companions, continuing to give the grilling in their direction. Did it stop my friend from mouthing off? Nope. She still slowly pronounced his title as 'cuntstable.'

Moving along, it's now two days later. I'm home alone, thankfully its midday because there has been a blackout. I walked outside to check the switchboard and there is a stash of jewellery hidden around the side of my house. Earrings, bracelets, car keys and a watch. Last week four houses in my neighborhood were broken into. Four houses in a relatively new, very small suburb, made up of a handful of streets.

I'm freaking out a little, as any normal person would. It's obvious that a criminal has been in my yard, right next to my bedroom.

I called the police and was informed that they would send a car out to inspect the items.

Anyone want to bet against the odds that the policeman who turns up will be the same one from the weekend? Unfortunately with my luck lately I think the odds aren't in my favor and my day will be topped off by an arrogant police man saying, "See, I knew you'd need me one day."

And NO, he definitely wasn't the type of officer I would like to have frisking me.

Just as sweet second time round...

Picture It was less than a month ago that Etopia Press popped my contract cherry and made my dream of becoming a published author come true.

Now, less than 30 days later and I'm super excited to announce that I've just signed my SECOND contract with Etopia.

Sneaking a Peek is a novelette contemporary erotic piece which I am bursting at the seems to share.

Not only is it the first time I've pushed my boundaries with erotic romance, but the tiny little story is so sassy and sarcastic that I can't wait for people to read it.

As yet I have no details on a release date, but in the near future I will not only have Concealed Desire available to the public, but Sneaking a Peek will be out in the world as well!!!

Hubby are you serious?

It's been good times lately. I've had my first story signed and a nibble on a short story that I am hoping to have signed in the near future...if I'm lucky.
But through all the hype and excitement of signing my first contract there is one moment that stands out during the celebrations. Out of the blue my husband asks an off the cuff question - So do I have to be worried that I will be featuring in any of your stories?

...Ummm...how to answer that? I can honestly say that if I would have had fluid in my mouth it would have quickly been released all over the front of his shirt. Seriously, was he for real?...Yes, unfortunately he was.

And this was my reply.

"Hon, I write romance . You have nothing to worry about...you're not romantic."

I will admit that some of his smarcastic (yes I made up a word. It's a mix of smart ass and sarcasm) one liners have been used here and there, but there are so many reasons why my husband will NOT be a hero in any of my stories.

1. When we were dating we used to live together in Melbourne. One memorable moment was when we were toughening out a windy, winter day at the beach, showing his sister the sights. Hubby decides he wanted to try and be sweet by doing one of those romantic scenes where the hero picks up his sweetheart and runs along the edge of the waves.
The bastard dropped me...in the water...in the middle of winter.

2. His foreplay is strictly verbal and consists of the following lines that are interchanged to spice things up a little:
    - "9pm. Go time."
    - "Get ya gear off"
    - "Get ya rack out"
Oh, and my all time favourite is when he says I will get lucky "if I play my cards right."
*sigh* so sweet.

Now in his defense I will say that before we were married he was A grade romantic material. Back in the day when he thought I had beer flavoured nipples. His proposal couldn't have been sweeter if he tried. But times have changed my honey bear...so in answer to those of you who have asked - NO, my husband will not feature as one of my romance heroes.

And just because he's a sexy fireman doesn't mean he's hero material.

***PLEASE NOTE - here is the gushy part where I say that I love my husband with all my heart. The part where I say he is the best man in the world, the only one I could ever want to be with. He lights up my life and is more than I deserve...he's just not romantic***
