Great Opening Lines!

"Call me Ishmael" - Herman Melville - Moby Dick, undeniably one of the most well known first lines in literature. And how about, "It was the day my grandmother exploded" - Iain M. Banks - The Crow Road. Interesting, to say the least. Then there's the ever-famous, "Once Upon A Time." - We all know how that ends, or not.

Those are great first lines from the past, now how about some great first lines from Authors of the present?

With the Author's consent, I've compiled a list of opening lines in today's literature. I hope you'll have fun reading through these openings. Who knows, it may even spark a novel in you.

Goals achieved for 2012.

Everyone has a destiny.
Not everyone’s is to kill the one they love.
Not everyone will give up their soul for that love.
. . . not everyone has the salvation of humanity dumped on their shoulders.

I'm so happy to bring you The Devil's Flower, the first book in The Eternal Beings Series.
Santa managed to get it published December 25th, which made for an exciting Christmas day.

I've achieved goals beyond my wildest dreams in 2012 - being published twice - and hope the trend continues in 2013.

Here's wishing all you readers and writers a safe and fulfilling New Year. May all your goals be achieved.

The Gathering Darkness

Tomorrow we celebrate fall, the autumnal equinox, and my book’s Birth Day!

How does a girl feel the day before she takes her first leap into the published author’s realm? Well, like a girl, of course. However, there are instances of surrealism, accompanied by acute bursts of hysteria that tend to cloud the normal day's events.

The Gathering Darkness stage is set for tomorrow, September 22, 2012, and when the curtain raises, my teen heroine and hero, Brooke Day and Marcus Knight—the actors in this spooky drama—will take their bows and plunge straight into the danger and evil that await them (poor things).

Like any proud mama, I will sit on the sidelines, bite my nails, and watch wide-eyed as they fight to get to the root of the evil that has befallen them, their families, and their friends.

I hope you enjoy my take on witchcraft, reincarnation, horror, and love.
