Holiday movies (31 Days of Christmas)
With only 12 more days until Christmas, kids will be getting out of school soon for Christmas break, which means they’ll be home all day. It’s also time for all the holiday movies–A Christmas Story, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, The Grinch (are you a traditionalist or do you prefer the Jim Carrey version?), It’s a Wonderful Life, Polar Express–just to name a few. One of my favorites is Elf. My son LOVES Buddy and my husband’s favorite part is where Buddy sings in the bathroom. The whole movie is hilarious and we always make sure to watch it every year.

Worst Christmas gift (31 Days of Christmas)
It’s almost Friday, and one day closer to Christmas. We’re officially 2 weeks out. Keeping with the gifting theme, my sister gave me my best gift, my worst gift came from my niece. She got me a multi-colored neon purse. It was really kind of awful. But, it came from my niece, whom I love and adore, so I couldn’t get rid of it. About 2 years later, I finally “returned” it to my sister. It isn’t about what you get, but just the fact that someone put thought into it.

Christmastime in the City (31 Days of Christmas)
I love living in NYC, especially during the holidays. There is all kinds of magic in the air. There’s the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade, lighting of the tree at Rockefeller Center, the decorations in Macy’s in Time Square. Spending time with my family is super important to me. We don’t usually make it to the official tree lighting, but we do go down to Rockefeller Center and see all the lights and sights and doing some shopping. One of our favorite things to do while we’re there is to get some of the best hot chocolate ever in Bryant Park.

What’s on your gift wish list? (31 days of Christmas)

What are you wishing for this year? My list wish is really short this year, because it’s a big one. I really want a new house…and we are house hunting. It can be a long process, but we’re having fun. I don’t think we’ll be in the new house before the end of the year, but hopefully by this time next year I’ll be putting decorations up in our new digs.

Holiday shopping (31 Days of Christmas)

Today, let’s talk about holiday shopping. Some people love it, some people dread it and will wait until the very last second to get it all done. I’m one of those who loves to get it done early, so I can enjoy other parts of the holiday season, especially spending time with my family. However, this year, I’ve been running a bit behind. I did a lot of shopping over Black Friday/Thanksgiving weekend and hope to finish up all my shopping this coming weekend.

31 days of Christmas
I cannot believe it is already December! I hope everyone enjoyed a long, holiday weekend (if you’re in the US) and had a great Thanksgiving. I know we’re all having a rough time today with getting back to work. But, hopefully I can cheer you up.

Happy Friday all!! We’ve made it through another work week. I can’t believe it’s almost mid-November. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it!
