Snowdrops Wilt at Dawn - Sequel to Roses at Dusk.

With Snowdrops growing steadily by the day, I thought I would share a small sample of what's to come.... Enjoy!

In a fit of giggles, Lucas and Becky, quickly gathered up their things and walked swiftly for the library doors. They continued to fall over each other laughing, pushing their way through the entrance and outside into the icy breeze. As they stumbled into the lot, Lucas grabbed Becky around the waist, scooping her close, still amused and now kissing her neck. He continued, until he noticed Becky's frame had gone rigid and her laughter silent. He pulled back and stared at her. Her face had whitened. He followed her gaze, over the direction of his shoulder. Lucas turned slowly with a feeling of foreboding. Standing in a semi-circle, brandishing a baseball bat was none other than Matthew Jonas. He was flanked on both sides by four others. Two were his faithful sidekicks, Vince and Simon, but the other two were completely new. To make matters worse, both of these guys were much bigger and older than Lucas and both also welded bats.
"Hello snowflake," Matt Jonas whispered menacingly, as he slapped the bat up and down in his opposing hand.

The Transient (Book1 The Castle Series)

Here's a taster..

PREFACE

'For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.'
William Penn

Some say the world will end in fire, that this year will be the last the earth will see. I say bring it on, I’m ready. I'm not afraid of what lies ahead. I've seen first hand what the universe can bring, whether in this world or beyond. I have him by my side for eternity, and together no one can stop us. After three years we are fused as one. The day I moved to the Castle, everything I believed in and hoped for was turned upside down. Within a year the afterlife had grabbed me and consumed me, leaving me breathless - wanting more.
Until those days, I had been the ultimate non-believer who never considered the possibility of ghosts. Losing mom so young had made me cynical about such things – the afterlife just couldn't exist. It was just a desperate hope for those hanging onto loved ones. They were too afraid to let go. I shunned anything that would eventually cause pain. Love, friendship, trust—it all just faded away. Along with our beliefs, it would all turn to dust on the day we were laid to rest. But that was then and this is now; my world has completely changed.
I can no longer deny the supernatural. Now, I know that it is entrenched in every part of this world. Together we fought against its horrors and lost, but I picked up powers of my own and, along the way, I would see him return. With my friends, we fought our way through mysteries, outwitting the foes that would see us destroyed if we gave them half a chance. The Castle had become a gateway to Purgatory, and us the protectors for the innocent souls. The Governance would help us and Vanquishers try to wound us – but together we stood strong.
As the Aurelia, we shall fight that Darkest of Angels and protect the Transients and mortal souls. Fire may try to consume, and Ice may block our path, but our destiny hangs on how united we stand – our love unbreakable forever and one day.

A Well Done Review

We all love a good review, let's face it. Especially from review groups, who do this routinely. But a poor one, if well said can also teach us a lot. Today I had a review for Roses at Dusk that was very positive, but what makes it so special for me, is the wonderful way in which it has been presented. Well thought out, professional and beautifully done. I know she will be posting here herself, but I wanted to share the wonderful skills and site of the Princess of Darkness herself - Kat aka Rayven!
