A Big Announcement and a Small Request

On Wednesday afternoon, I’m heading out of town for a much-anticipated solitary writing retreat. But before I go, I want to tell you some exciting news . . . and ask a favor. (No, it’s not for you to leave a review of In A Far-Off Land, although that would be appreciated)

First . . . the announcment.

One of the questions I get a LOT is “What are you writing next?” I’m pleased to tell you that my next novel will be published by Tyndale House and once again is historical fiction set in 1930...

Summer Reading Time Is Here

What are you reading this summer? I love summer reading and I’ve got a lineup of great books I’m looking forward to. But first . . .

A great big thanks to all of you who have read In A Far-Off Land! I’ve heard from many of you personally (THANK YOU!) and seen the reviews on Amazon and Goodreads (THANK YOU! THANK YOU!)

If you’ve read In A Far-Off Land, don’t be shy about leaving a review. It’s easy and takes on a minute. Amazon, Goodreads, BookBub are all good places. No need to write one ...

Of Book Releases and Whatnot

Whew! In A Far-Off Land has been released into the world! I’ve been hearing from readers already with their impressions of the story, and I’m so pleased to know Mina and Max have captured the hearts of my friends, family, and new readers. If you’ve read In A Far-Off Land, please consider writing a review on Goodreads, Amazon, or BookBub. It helps my sales and keeps me in the business of writing! More on that below.

If you’ve read the story or not, you might be interested in some of my rec...

Five Days until the Premier of In A Far-Off Land and One Last Book Giveaway

I can’t believe it’s almost time for the red carpet, the searchlights, the paparazzi. In a Far-Off Land isn’t the latest Hollywood film, but it feels like it to me. And I have one more book giveaway below that you don’t want to miss.

But first, two announcements.

Number one. Books are in early! With the mail what it is, and everybody running behind on everything, I had a recurring nightmare that copies of In A Far-Off Land would be late in arriving at stores. Surprise — they’re early! Both...

The Penultimate Giveaway

It’s the next-to-last giveaway. And that means In A Far-Off Land is almost in your hands! In fact, if you live in the Stillwater, MN, area read on for an announcement about signed pre-orders available EARLY. And for out-of-town folks, I’ve got a surprise for you ask well.

But for right now–and for all of you–I’d like to introduce a fantastic writer and someone I have admired for many years. Tosca Lee is truly one-of-a-kind. I met her when she was writing Biblical fiction, but Tosca is mul...

The Countdown Continues and so do the Giveaways

Just eighteen days and counting until the book of my heart, In a Far-Off Land, is out in the world. I can’t believe it! I started writing this book almost five years ago after a trip to California during which I had a crazy dream about a girl running away from a Hollywood mansion murder scene in a green dress. From that, came the story of Mina, Oscar, and Max. I hope you like it!

To make the weeks go faster, let’s give away a book by another one of my favorite authors, Sandra Byrd. I’...

Double Giveaway and Less than One Month to Go!

I can’t wait to get started on this week’s giveawaybut before that, I’d like to answer a question I’ve been getting lately: Why should I pre-order a book? Here are three good reasons:

Rankings. A great first day of sales can pop a book up in the rankings of the major sellers–places like Amazon and Barnes & Noble–and that can get a new release tons of free advertising exposure on best-seller lists, promotions, and re-orders on retail sites and in brick-and-morter stores. High rankings on relea...

A Giveaway of The London Restoration

I can’t wait to gush again about the lovely Rachel McMillan. If you love to read, do yourself a favor and follow Rachel on Facebook, Instagram, and around town (if you live in Toronto). Her book recommendations have never disappointed me. In fact, she’s pointed me in the direction of some of my favorite authors, including Mimi Matthews, Patti Callahan, and Kristina McMorris. All that, and she’s an incredibly talented writer herself! Don’t miss a chance to win her latest release, The London Resto...

Six Weeks until In A Far-Off Land Premier and Giveaway #8

I can’t believe it’s SIX WEEKS until the red carpet and spotlights, the limos, gowns, the paparazzi . . .

In my imagination that is what the release of In A Far-Off Land looks like. I’ve been waiting years for this book to reach the hands of readers so you can understand my excitement.

But that’s not all I’m excited about! I have a fantastic new release to give away this week. I’ve been a huge fan of Amy Harmon for years. Here’s a few of her books that I would highly recommend: A Diff...

Double Giveaway: The Curator’s Daughter and Surviving Savannah

What an honor to give away two great books this week! The first, by Melanie Dobson is one I can’t wait to dive into, The Curator’s Daughter. I met Melanie at a writers conference when we were both writing for Howard Books and she is a delight. I know this book will be amazing. You can sign up to be on Melanie’s newsletter list HERE.

This dual-timeline novel is about how a young girl, kidnapped on the eve of World War II, changes the lives of a German archaeologist forced into the Nazi...
